great way to read & manage books... pros: non-distracting (can't do anything but reading :-) that's BIG plus), non eye straining , great battery life..

Light weight, back light are all helpful for reading in bed. Small flicker that is rather annoying.

I used to read books off my iPad but I love the Kindle so much more. Easier on my eyes, easier to take with me when I travel, overall so much better for reading!

My wife thought tablet was to bright this more like reading book. Keeps charge alot longer and works with amazon prime. So this very good purchase at very good price!!!

We Love the paperwhite! I purchased this for my son to read books on and like the easy to setup parental controls and usage of kindle free time to manage content for him. We now own 3 in our house and would never go back to reading on a tablet.

I initially read e-books on my old Kindle that needed a light. I then migrated to using my mini iPad with a kindle app. The brightness bothered my eyes and outside it was pretty useless. I bought the paper white as it has a backlight that isn't too strong. Love it!

I was actually a usability tester on the very first Kindle and I'd always thought about buying one. After using the Kindle app on various tablets (iPad and Samsung) I finally realized that what I was mostly using the tablets for was the Kindle App. Buying one was a no-brainer and the Paperwhite is excellent. The Bookerly font is exceedingly readable and the backlighting is adjustable so that I don't keep my significant other awake when I'm reading in bed. It's lightweight and the perfect size for putting in the pocket of my cargo shorts or in a jacket pocket.

Great product. Easy to read on without feeling like you're staring at a computer screen. No glare at all no matter where I am. Very easy to hold whether reading sitting or laying down. Highly recommended!

I just love my paperwhite! The size is small enough to fit in my purse and pull out whenever I have the time. The charge lasts forever, so I'm not always looking to plug in. I love that I can sit outside and read, or in bed at night, without light on to disturb husband. I belong to a book club, so it's nice to be able to add notes when I want to and to have the dictionary right there if needed. I can hook right onto Amazon, Goodreads or borrow from the library while sitting in bed. This is my first Kindle, so I don't have stuff to compare it to - but I sure love this one.

Two things that make the kindle experience better than real books: 1) Instantly get new books very nice especially when traveling 2) can read in a dark room without bothering my spouse. plus all the good things everyone else says.

This is very petite and light. I take it with me everywhere. It is very convenient and the battery last for quite a long time.

I purchased this kindle to replace a very old and heavy Nook! Kindle is lightweight , easy to use and perfect for travel. Holds a charge forever!

If you want to read books in an electronic form you can't beat the paperwhite. You can read it wearing sunglasses, in the brightest sunshine, or the darkest room. Tablets may be more versatile, but they are not as easy to read in various lighting conditions.

The new paperwhite is a big improvement over the first generation Kindle I had. The text is much more crisp and easier to read, and the backlit screen makes reading possible in any lighting condition.

The screen is great and doesn't strain your eyes at all, and page transitions are smooth. Easy to buy books from amazon (either on the device or a computer) and get them on the kindle instantly.

This is the first Kindle I buy and I was hoping to be a good experience which so far has been. You may not treat this device as a limited tablet since it is not. It's a reader that works just fine for that. If you compare it you'll feel it lacks speed or responsiveness, but remember that this is just a reader and it works fine for that purpose. The extra feature, the backlight, works pretty fine even at dark rooms without leaving you blind.

My wife is a voracious reader and always takes numerous books with her when we travel. Kindle Paperwhite lets her bring all those books (and more) without the weight and taking up minimal space. No eyestrain, easy to hold and use.

I have one and bought it for my teenage daughter. It’s great for reading on the go or in bed at night. The versatility between a sunny day to a dark room make it a must for me. I think she is going to love it for the same reasons
