Good reader to carry along for travels. I also bought a protective case from amazon which automatically shut down when closing the case. I only charged once during my 10 day travel.

This is my second paperwhite (went to my daughter). I like the touchscreen capabilities and the lighting is superb. This replaced an old keyboard version that required a light built into the cover. Got a cheap $9 cover for this w/ sleep/awake utility and it works great!

If you like to read and travel this is the answer to that problem. You can read just about any paper in the country at any time.

For the price, the Kindle Paperwhite was a great upgrade to the old Kindle. The back light was a plus when using on a plane, and the charged lasted throughout the two week trip.

These feel great to hold and they have an outstanding array of cases to protect them. I am absolutely blown away by the battery life. I was able to wait about 6 weeks before I needed to charge my Kindle. I love the options of books available and that they are also usually cheaper than their physical counterparts. I was worried that I would miss holding physical books too much and miss the feel of turning pages. Swiping through pages on this special screen feels just as good but in a different way. If you are even slightly interested in getting an e-reader I suggest giving Kindle a shot!

Love the simplicity of the Paperwhite and the soft light backlight. I can read much longer with this and in many more places. It's very light and downloads are easy and fast.

I received this as a Christmas gift. It makes reading so easy and portable. Battery life is excellent. Super easy to set up and use with my existing Amazon account.

So happy with this Kindle! It's very easy to use, lightweight so you can carry it in your bag like you would with a paper book, except here you have an entire library with you.

I purchased this product a few months ago and have been very pleased. It is a very user friendly and does exactly what it is supposed to do. It has a great battery life as well.

This version is perfect. Spending another hundred or so is definitely not necessary! I can do everything on this and it is just as fast and clear as the more expensive one. No regrets!

This reader is perfect for my needs. It is light weight and very easy to hold. Books are easily downloaded and sync with my iPad and iPhone. I would recommend purchasing a cover.

I had an older Kindle that wasn't working well and decided to upgrade. I love that this one has a light, previously I had to attach a light to my Kindle case if I wanted to read with the lights out now with the built in light that's not necessary. It's very responsive and easy to use and it fits perfectly into my old case. I also have an iPad but I love to read at the beach and the iPad gets too hot and shuts off plus I don't like it being around all that sand with how much they cost. Neither of those are an issue with the kindle, this is perfect for reading at the beach.

very convenient, perfect size and easy on the eyes. I never though I would stop reading paperbacks, but this makes reading a library of different books much more convenient.

I bought this for my girlfriend and she loves it. It's easy to use, plenty of storage for books and makes reading easy on the eyes.

I purchased it for a gift but i have to do all the up keep and maintaining. I've been a long time prime member who has many kindle books. I see this can be good for reading out side, it's lighter than a tablet and you don't have to charge it alot, the battery lasts a long time... Setup is straight forward and doesnt take alot of instruction to use it. It displays adds while its off, but it didn't bother me at all. It took me but a few minutes to setup and learn how to use the device. If you have prime you should see all your books right away but If you don't have prime but have someone in your house that does you have to setup a household and share everything to my wife so she was able to see all the books that i had purchased (i can be selective after they are shared). One thing i noticed was there is the kindle lending library, it only allows 1 book to be borrowed per month. Recently Amazon came up with Prime Reading, so you can take out multiple books at a time but you have to do it thru the web or a tablet or phone using the kindle app, which after they are taken out the kindle will see.

Upgraded from the old Kindle with the keyboard, and wish I would've done it sooner. Beautiful screen, nice and light, perfect in every way. The best way to read a book.

I was iffy about choosing between this kindle and the newer one. This kindle has gotten me to read more and I love it. That's why I bought it. No flaws in it, exactly what I wanted!

My wife is an avid reader. She loves paper books and convincing her to even try an e-reader was a challenge. I finally got this when on sale and she loves it. She still reads paper books too, but this lives in her purse and is what she now reads most of the time. It works in any lighting condition and is easy on the eyes, especially when reading in the dark. No glare when reading in sunlight as well. The newer one I think is waterproof, so that is even better. It is also very easy to link this to lending services like the libraries or Amazon Prime Reading.

This device offers a wonderful way to read books without creating more clutter in your home. The device is also easy to read even in the sun (unlike by IPad mini).
