I am an avid reader and my archived library goes with me everywhere I go. The Paperwhite with large print is so easy on my eyes. I truly treasure my Kindle and would not be without it. I belong to three book clubs and I never have trouble getting the books.

Notbing beats it. I tried getting the app on my iPad and it works. But nothing like the reader itself. I bring it everywhere. It's light and I hardly notice it in my bag.

With summer getting closer, I know that I'm going to be reading outside more often, and my tablet won't be a great choice with sun glare on the screen. An iPad or Nexus 9 may be more powerful than this Kindle, but what good is all that performance if I can't see the screen outside? It's great being able to go sit down at a local park, enjoy the sunshine, listen to the birds, and read a book on the Kindle. The e-ink display is fantastic, and really does look like paper, even in direct sunlight.

I spend a lot of time at the lake and love to read. I enjoy being outdoors and sitting on the dock reading. It was always impossible with my phone or iPad, which I still love! This is just amazing, like reading a "paper book" without having to hold it "open"! Love the clarity!!!

I absolutely love my kindle! The battery lasts a really long time, which is great because I read a lot! Easy to work, and I am loving the adjustable back light.

My second Kindle, but my first with a backlight. Makes reading in bed at night or in a darkened room a joy. Battery life lasts for weeks and weeks.

Easy to use, whisper-sync is great and the backlight makes it a lot easier to read in all conditions compared to reading on a tablet.

So the only complaint I could see most people had was that the battery life was poor compared to previous/non-backlit versions. I will say that is true, however, with about an hour to 30 minutes of reading, I can go a few weeks between charges. I feel that is very reasonable. As with the Kindle e-readers, I have had very good luck with them. They are well built, devices and very easy on the eyes. The device has a good texture and does not feel like it will slip out of your hand while reading. Overall I'm very happy with my new Kindle. Its so much easier on the eyes! Worth every penny!

This was my second kindle but first paper white. Love the feature of being able to read in the dark. Easy to use and all my books were loaded on already.

This reader is easy to use and easy to read . I like how it holds all of my books in one convent spot .

This is a great product. Battery life is very good. Great for reading at night and works great in sun light. Sign up through Amazon and get books cheap or free.

Even though I own both an iPad Pro and an iPad Mini, this is my preferred e-reading device. It's light and the battery lasts a good ten times longer than my iDevices.

Yes it works well in sunlight. I like the matte screen. It’s difficult to connect to our public library to borrow ebooks. I can make it work but it’s not so easy. Also screen is a bit small so I have to turn the pages quicker with the size font that I’ve chosen. Love the battery life.

I love the kindle.. Reading is so much easier especially traveling and at beach

I love my Kindle paperwhite. The backlit screen is great for reading at night, it has a long battery life and I love being able to use it in full sunlight.

Bought for my daughter because I love mine so much! Easy to use. Can see in the dark to read before bed - not so bright as a phone so it doesn't keep me up.

This is my first "kindle" device since I have a 1st gen Kindle Fire HD 7. So far enjoying the paperwhite since it reads very similar to a real book. If you're an avid reader and prefer that realistic book reading feel, this is a device to check out.

The Kindle Paperwhite is an awesome alternative to a paperback book. Great reading and lighting in all angles and lighting conditions. Price is great compared to similar devices. Great at what its designed for - I highly recommend if you want a dedicated reading tablet.
