So I purchased this kindle because they said this is one that will read to her and highlight the words as it reads. No one can show me how this works or get it hooked up to work. I have taken it back to Best Buy twice and no one has been able to get it to work

The feature you are referring to requires a Bluetooth headset to connect to your device for the screen reader option to work as the device itself does not have any physical speaker. You can find screen reading options under Accessibility or under the Menu icon when inside the book you are trying to read. You are also able to use audio book options in this way through Audible where you can read along with a book while it is professionally narrated. This option may require a purchase of both the Kindle and Audible version of some books or can sometimes be coupled with a Kindle Unlimited and Audible subscription service. If you have any difficulty trying to access these features, I would recommend contacting Amazon Customer Support directly at 888.280.4331 for further assistance. As for the product…after a day or two it was so yellow it gave me a headache. And it was 0 in warmth. I had to return it. I was sad, because it was definitely faster and smoother than my 2021, but if i cant read it, it doesn’t matter.

Charge last long, and it is easier on the eyes than when U read in my IPad. Holding up the Kindle, Signature Edition, is no problem. It is light weight and causes no strain on the hand. I can turn the pages of the book with either my left hand or right (which makes it fery convenient). Reading at night is my favorite pastime. The Kindle makes reading an absolute pkeasure.

As for the device itself, I think the operating system is a bit too complicated, had to help him set it up and was bombarded with dozens of free trials and subscriptions which you would likely want to unsubscribe after the trial ends! The battery life is more than decent. The brightness of the screen is okay, for its purpose it is perfect. Portability wise, of course it is great. My biggest complaint would be the operating system, personally I’d go for an iPad but my father enjoys this sooo…

On the device, you can go to settings, tap manage your devices, select devices, and then select your Kindle e-reader or Fire tablet. Under Special Offers, click Remove offers. Arrived a day late but because of the weather. It was securely packaged and has been a wonderful tool for me. My hands hurt at the end of my 12 hour work day, but I'm a book dragon and can't get enough reading in. I changed the setting to dark mode to not disturb my husband and read until I'm out. It took 2 weeks of 2-3 hours a night reading before I had to charge it the first time. It's been almost as long and I'm still at 60% extremely happy with my purchase.

The color is beautiful and the battery has been great so far and the page turning is great as well as the clarity of the words- it’s crisp!

The screen is sharper and definitely was worth the extra money for the auto screen brightness adjustment BUT, this is my second, the first one, in the top right corner, the letters were more blurry, so check for defects like that...
