Hi JTP95. Thank you for your feedback on the Kindle Scribe. I am sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the stylus. Here are some troubleshooting tips for you to try and resolve the issue with the stylus: If your Scribe Stylus Pen is unresponsive

Make sure that you're writing on a content type that supports handwritten strokes or sticky notes
Choose another writing tool from the writing toolbar
Flip the page forth and back
Close and reopen the book or Notebook
Close and reopen the sticky note
If your Scribe Stylus Pen is writing without touching the screen

Replace your stylus pen tip using one of the five replacement tips and the tip replacement tool included with your Kindle Scribe. For a graphic step by step go to Kindle Scribe Pen Replacement Tips.
If your Scribe Premium Pen's button is unresponsive

Make sure that the content type where you're trying to use it supports the shortcut function assigned to the button of your Premium Pen. The stylus pen toolbar shows the pen functions.
Make sure that the stylus tip is touching the screen while pressing the stylus pen button.

Hello RobertF! Thank you for providing feedback on your experience with the Kindle Scribe. We value any and all feedback. I would like to address a couple concerns for you that I am curious about. This device does in fact rotate in both eReader and in notetaking. Even the menu rotates. It does not go into landscape mode if that is what you mean. Also, the note taking has a multitude of options available to it by being able to automatically have notes saved in your Kindle app on other devices, has numerous customizations for your writing choices, has an eraser feature built into the other end of the premium pen, allows you to send PDFs to your Scribe via its own personal email address for your to write up, has a select amount of books that allow you to write directly on the books, has eBooks and access to a library of millions of books, has Bluetooth access to utilize Audible audiobooks, gives you the ability to create notes in any book at the tap of the pen tip, and does all of this at well below the price of Remarkable 2. The battery life also lasts for weeks at a time. I do hope that some of this gives you a few more reasons to give your Kindle Scribe another chance and gives you a few more reasons to enjoy this over any other device in its category.
