Love it, you can read books and write stuff. Does exactly what is says it will. I enjoy the writing experience and well the reading experience is superb. I guess if you don't get ebooks from amazon it might be a bit more complicated to get them in, but I haven't really looked much into it since most of my library is on kindle. the only thing I wish it had, and its more of an amazon thing Thant the scribe, is to be able to have it read it to me while still looking at the words like on the kindle phone app, as opposed to switching to the audible app, but that is something that happens on all kindles. The only real negative and positive is the size. When I am just reading in bed, I wish it was a bit smaller, but when it comes to writing it is a very good size. So it just depends, but that is more situational.

It's great, the size is nice and writing on it feels good, it has a matte surface, so it feels like writing on paper. Very responsive, slightly heavier than preferred but not such a big build that I would not use it.

Game-Changer for Work & Everyday Life

The Kindle Scribe has completely streamlined how I stay organized, both at work and at home. I originally picked it up for work notes and meeting agendas, but now I use it daily for everything—journaling, to-do lists, grocery planning, even reading during downtime. The writing experience is incredibly smooth and natural. It really feels like writing on paper, but without the clutter. I love being able to jot down notes directly on PDFs or create notebooks for different projects. It’s also great that everything syncs, so I can access my notes across devices if needed. Battery life is excellent—I go days without needing to charge it. And of course, it’s still a Kindle at heart, so reading on the glare-free screen is easy on the eyes, even in bright light. If you're someone who loves to write things down and stay organized without carrying around stacks of notebooks, the Kindle Scribe is a total win. It’s become an essential part of my workday and my personal routine.

writing on pen is even more seamless than expected. tactile is perfect. one thing that surprised me was when writing, your hand on the screen does not affect the writing. only the pen will make changes on there. works exactly like a pen on paper. battery life is amazing, will work for weeks with no charges. light is bright. access to books is ideal, not just notes.

This is a great little device and I use it everyday from reading to writing notes in class to even using it as scrap paper in math class. It's cool because everyone is interested in what you have when you pull it out and they think it's the coolest thing ever. I'm glad it's an amazon product because it syncs right with my amazon account and all my files are really easy to get to on my computer.

I love the scribe. I’m an avid reader but also enjoy not taking, and can’t be bothered to always have a notepad (nor would I ever find them) - I have all my books on me at all times, plus the ability to keep track of a lot of my life. The notebook templates continue to be updated and become more useful. It may not be worth the extra money over the paper white if you won’t use it consistently for notes, but I have used this kindle every single day since I bought it six months ago.

Good deal on First Generation Scribe

I replaced a Kindle Paperwhite with the Kindle Scribe so that I could use it to write notes and organize them in a digital format. But, also so that I could read my books and publications on this larger format screen. If you like the compact size of the Paperwhite, keep in mind that the bigger format of the Scribe makes it to harder to travel with. The differentiator here is note taking . . . and it is a good tool to have in class or at work. My package has 32 GB with a Premium Pen. One thing that I truly appreciate about this is the battery life. It uses very little energy and one charge lasts for weeks. I have come to expect it being charged and ready to use even if I set it aside for a few days, unlike other tablets. This is not the first generation of this model and I can't compare features and performance to the latest. But I am completely satisfied with this model and it cost a lot less in comparison.

I absolutely love this kindle. I was skeptical at first as someone who likes to hold a physical book but now I prefer this. I can take it anywhere. It has really good battery life and space and there is no glare in the sun or indoors. It never hurts my eyes and I can read day or night light or dark. I also love that I can notate in my books and create notebooks for note taking, grocery lists, etc. if you are on the fence it is definitely worth the price!!

A Game Changer for Readers and Writers Alike

As an avid reader and occasional writer, I recently purchased the Amazon Kindle Scribe from Best Buy and I am absolutely thrilled with my experience. The Kindle Scribe has exceeded all my expectations, offering both the comfort of a traditional reading experience and the convenience of modern technology. Firstly, the e-ink display is a standout feature. It's incredibly easy on the eyes, even during prolonged reading sessions. Unlike other devices, the screen mimics the look of actual paper, which significantly reduces eye strain. The adjustable front light is a godsend, making it possible to read in any lighting condition without any glare. The writing functionality of the Kindle Scribe is a game changer. The pen feels natural in hand, and the responsiveness is top-notch. Taking notes, annotating books, and even doodling feels intuitive and seamless. It syncs effortlessly with my other devices, making it easy to access my notes on the go. Battery life is another area where the Kindle Scribe shines. I can go weeks without needing to charge it, which is perfect for travel or long commutes. The range of books available on the Kindle store is vast, and the device's storage capacity is more than adequate for even the most voracious readers. The design and build quality of the Kindle Scribe are commendable. It’s lightweight, yet feels sturdy and well-built. The sleek design makes it a joy to hold and use. It's clear that a lot of thought went into making this device both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Finally, purchasing from Best Buy was a great decision. The buying process was smooth, and their customer service was helpful and knowledgeable. They had the Kindle Scribe in stock and the price was competitive. I also appreciate the peace of mind that comes with buying from a reputable retailer. In conclusion, the Amazon Kindle Scribe is a stellar product that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves to read or write. Its combination of a reader-friendly display, excellent writing functionality, long battery life, and high-quality build make it a must-have. Best Buy's service in providing this product was impeccable, making the overall experience even more satisfying. Five stars without a doubt!

    My Kindle scribe review

I had to start by saying I absolutely love this product. I purchased my Surface studio laptop, and my Kindle scribe in the same week and since receiving my Kindle scribe, I have not been able to put it down. It simply feels like magic. Because when the pen touches the screen, it doesn’t feel like a screen, it gives it texture. It makes it fluid but still resistant also, I absolutely love the lighting the auto brightness helps in any kind of room but the warmth and the backlight makes me want to keep it close even if I am in a dark room. It doesn’t hurt my eyes. I have an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil, a surface, studio stylus, and a Google pixel laptop with a stylus. All three of these devices have tried get washed away by how amazing it is to use a scribe. All for adding the fact that you can read a book or listen to audiobooks. I was looking into the pad and I am very happy with my decision. The structure of it first seems very different because you have a thick side but while you’re using it, it makes a lot of sense for how you hold it when writing something. Also I rest my whole hand when I write and the palm recognition is great because it doesn’t activate any additional features it it’s just allows you to write. There are two downsides of this product. The first one is there is no color and the second is you start enjoying writing so much that you wish you had a bigger canvas. Last thing I want to leave you with is I showed it to my brother and I accidentally left it in his car and since he’s picked it up he refuses to give it back and whenever I requested he usually guilt trips me on why this should be a gift for him. so for me, the price is very high but I haven’t liked the product as much in a very long time so I’m gonna have to bite the bullet again or force my brother to buy one for me.

I use this for work mostly so that I can write on a PDF and keep track of things digitally and it is wonderful. It is a bonus that my kindle library is there too for when I want to read. The battery lasts for what feels like forever. Easily one of the best purchases I made.

Love the big screen and the ability to take notes! Finally, I can read technical books on this device without struggling!! This is exactly what I've been looking for to fill this niche! It's awesome to be able to make notes directly on the Kindle, and have the display in e-ink, so there is no eye strain when attempting to study. I'm so grateful for this product.

The kindle scribe is a very strong addition to the kindle line. I use the writing pad features for taking notes and making adjustments to some of my files. As a reader it works great and when complimented with a case the scribe mimics the feel of a book. The larger size is nice to accomodate larger text for amazon books and pdf files. The battery life beats any other tablet and it’s nice to have a portable library with me.

The Kindle Scribe is a solid e-reader and note-taking device, but it feels slightly expensive for the features it offers. The white paper-like screen makes reading easy on the eyes, and the notepad feature is handy for making quick notes. Writing on it is smooth, and organizing notes is simple, which is a big plus. However, I had issues connecting it to my AirPods, though other Bluetooth devices worked fine. The biggest downside is that it’s not very responsive to touch in general—I had hoped Amazon would have improved in this area over time. Overall, it’s good but not quite perfect.

Almost a month in and so far so good! I do wish the refresh rate was a little smoother and quicker though. Purchased on the Aug 20th an received it on Aug 22nd. Charged it that night and on Sept. 9th, it still, had 48% battery. I've been using the notebook feature especially for math problems for my accounting class instead of wasting paper. Also, being able to send PDFs to the Scribe, edit it or complete assignment, and email it back and/or forward to the professor, it's fantastic! I've even scanned my loose leaf chapters of my text book and have sent each chapter to my Scribe so I can read and study as needed. I do wish it was waterproof so that I can read while swimming or just in general protected on that front. I do also wish that the Sleep cover could be edited to something personal. Otherwise, for what it is, it's great. It can definitely be built up to be even better though.

I'm a purchaser of all types of kindels for many years. The Scribe is one of my favorites for daily use. I still use my smaller kindles for reading in bed and on the go but the Scribe gives me the ability to make lists, play crossword, word search, and sudoku puzzles. Love the fact that it feels and sounds like writing on paper. The premium pen completes the package for many hours of entertainment.

It’s so much better reading books on Kindle devices than using iPad apps. Easier on the eyes and direct access to the Kindle store. I read a lot of technically oriented books so have the ability to scribble notes and diagrams is a definite plus. The unit is light weight with incredible battery life.

Excellent gift for my boyfriend who loves to read and wanted something bigger to experience something more likely to a real book. Also can add his thoughts or fave quotes. Also, we got it on a special price so it adds on the greatness. It is heavier than the Paperwhite but lighter than the Fire Tablet.

Kindles were never good for studying and taking but the scribe changes that. I like how we can take hand written notes and outline passages and have them correspond to page numbers to check later. Also the ability to mail them and use text recognition is another plus. Larger size makes reading easier for older eyes,
