Coming back!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comebacks are hard, but Fall Out Boy seem to know how to avoid the risk of a possible failure. As it would be rather predictable to attempt recapturing their successful brand of alternative punk-pop sound once again, instead, they choose to borrow from different genres and mix various elements, in order to craft a sound that is actually their own. With numerous samples, plenty of pop culture references, roaring guitars, killer hooks, and sharp deliveries, the result is a small triumph. Single ''Centuries'', which turns Suzanne Vega's ''Tom's diner'''s hypnotic "du du du du" melody into a contemporary anthem, and pre-destined hit "Uma Thurman", which brilliantly juxtaposes the Pulp Fiction actress to The Munsters theme tune, are devilishly irresistible slices of electro-rock. "American beauty / American psycho" is filled with such complexities, which, combined with some skilled songwriting, work surprisingly well for the most part of the album. Seems that Fall Out Boy have reached their experimental phase, and what a pleasure it is to be doing so in such a winning manner!

Better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a longtime Fall Out Boy fan, following them eagerly since Take This To Your Grave, which is still one of my favorite albums to go back to time and again in the Pop/Punk genre. While Patrick Stump still gives an excellent vocal delivery (he was always my favorite part of the band) I still think that he sounded better and more into the music when it was over the lightly punky sound of their earlier works. Needless to say the drastic shift in sound was a disappointment for me but I'm learning to enjoy them for who they are now, even if they aren't following up on the raw sound from the Pax AM Days EP like I'd hoped they would. My favorite song is definitely "Novocaine," which has Patrick's strongest vocals on the album, pushing and straining his voice higher than ever, but the album is a solid run throughout. Not their best, but at least it's better than "Save Rock and Roll" and Folie A Deux.

Fantastic effort & a must-have for FOB fans
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For fans who have been around since 2003's Take this to Your Grave and 2007's Infinity on High, AB/AP represents the next step in the evolution of Fall Out Boy. The lead single, centuries, is actually one of the weaker songs on the album, though there aren't really any truly weak songs on the album. FOB actually seems to have gotten a little faster and louder in their old age. There aren't a lot of songs, but what's here is truly delightful. For fans of FOB ballads, "jet pack blues" is a welcome change of pace. Don't be surprised to hear some of the songs on this album in sports stadiums over the next year or two.

FOB holds a special place in my heart.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They always take me to the good ol days. They were huge when I was in middle school. Then in high school everyone started hating on their releases. I didn't understand! Infinity on High was awesome! i loved it. Some would argue they made a comeback with Save Rock n Roll (I agree). This album to me seems to be in that vein. So if you loved that one, you'll more than likely love this one. I HAAAAATED the title track for the longest time. Now its stuck in my head and I can't get it out. And now I somewhat love it.

Unexpectedly good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not have high hopes for this album when it came out, but boy has it surpassed all expectations. At first listen I wasn't in love, but after a few plays it really hooks you. From the anthem you can't escape (Centuries), to the dance track sampling the munsters theme (Uma Thurman), to a song that sounds like it could have come off of one of their first albums (Twin Skeletons), there's something for every Fall Out Boy fan on this album. Overall, a very solid effort.

Not their greatest album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying I've listened to, and loved, Fall Out Boy since before radio started playing them. I have enjoyed every FOB album that has come out, though I do prefer some over others. This was not a return to their "old sound", as I always hope for, but it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. With a few exceptions, I enjoy listening to the entire album.

Good Album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fall Out Boy is a great band, but this album doesn't deliver as much punch as their previous releases. Although I do enjoy the track "Centuries", it is weird to hear a rock band sample the theme from The Munsters on track 5 called "Uma Thurman". I think "Favorite Record" will get some airplay.

Catchy Rock Album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My kids loved a couple of Fall Out Boy songs, so I picked up this album. While we don't listen to every song, the kids do ask to hear several over and over. Favorites include Centuries (which was all over college football commercials), Uma Thurman (with its Dick Dale-lick guitar licks), and Immortals, a song that played at the end of the movie Big Hero 6.

One of FOB's best albums yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a huge FOB fan, I'm proud to say that this album is amazing. This band just keeps getting better and better. I would highly recommend this to anyone. The songs are so catchy, especially Uma Thurman, Irresistable, Centuries, and AB/AP. Still in awe of this piece of magical art several weeks after its release.

Purchased for my daughter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually purchased this for my daughter, who loves Fall Out Boy. I think their lyrics are crazy, and sometimes don't make sense, but the songs are catchy and fun. I am not going to say that I would recommend this to a friend, but only because I don't think my friends would like it. If my daughter was writing this she would, I'm sure.

I am a biased Fall Out Boy fan
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love them, got all their CDs, got the T-shirt, saw them for the Believers Never Die Tour. So, I am a fan. LOVED Save Rock and Roll and the Pax Am albums of recent and I think artistically they are making a good career with this new CD. If you are contemplating, just buy it.

Great music
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pleasantly surprised how good this cd was. It follows shortly after an earlier cd and usually that means a forced effort to jump on the popularity of a previous success. But it is equally as good. They have stayed true to their style and infectious sing along lyrics.

Great CD!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The packaging is incredibly simple and chic. It contains a light blue CD with "FOB" in black. Great contrast in colors. It also contains a lyric booklet (great plus!).

Amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fall Out Boy can do no wrong in my eyes! This is perfect! Seriously, I just love how they always reinvent their style and can get away with it. Jet Pack Blues is my favorite. They did it again! I'm so proud to be a fan from the beginning and will always love them!

Good music
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this cd for my son, he is 4 years old. He quite enjoys the songs in this album especially because there is one that comes out in Super Hero 6 movie and loves that song. He tells me to raise the volume " all the way" when this song goes on.

It was the 4th of July...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So my daughter likes Fallout Boy. I had bought "Under the Cork Tree" when she was 5. She found it later as a teen. Many CDs and downloads later here we are. Anyway, this album has nice lyric play and surprising samples (Uma Thurman/Munsters)

New sound, still great music.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This isn't Take this to your Grave. This is pop music. And as long as you keep that in mind, you will love this album. It is very well produced. This isn't the same Fall Out Boy I fell in love with... but I still love this music.
