It's like sims, but cute and it's your own island! you can visit friends island (once you're able to fly, you do need the Nintendo Online subscription to do so though) catch bugs, go fishing, design outfits, customize colors on furniture and equipment! many hours of fun at a time. It is based on real time though, so certain things you do and achieve, will not be recognized til the next day, minus that, fun fun times

Been a fan of Animal Crossing games for years. I love seeing it on the "big screen" and seeing the characters in 3D. Definitely a fun game. A knock against it is that there is only 1 island per console. So you cannot have two separate player have their own island. I have seen a bunch of negative reviews just because of this restriction. I would think Nintendo will be opening it up later in 2020. Happy gaming.

I am not much into Sim type of games, but I got this because a friend of mine recommend this to me. When I started playing, in no time I was playing every day for at least 30 minutes. It makes fishing, bug hunting, digging, and crafting so much fun. Every day there is are new tasks that allows you to earn points to redeem for items and services in the sim world. I don't know why but I go back for more every day.

    Revolutionary game

This game to me is revolutionary. 1) the game syncs to your time zone and weather forecast. If it is morning where you are, it is morning at the island. If it is a rainy (or shinny) day where you are, the island will have the same weather. 2) multiplayer is safer than I have seen in other consoles. Kids cannot talk via voice chat; however, they can text within the game. Also, you will need to input an island code to ask for a multiplayer friend, and that island code is as lengthy as a Microsoft Office key. It will be very hard to just play with just a random person. 3) multiplayer is the best. We have owned Xbox and PS. However, this game alone has been responsible for now owning 4 Nintendo switch consoles at home, just so we can play multiplayer animal crossing as a family. This also means that this is our 4th copy of animal crossing at home, as well. Xbox or PS games never had that effect in this house (the max we had was 2 PS at the house and that was to play call of duty multiplayer zombies). The thing unique with animal crossing is the peaceful, relaxed, family-oriented, little-kids friendly multiplayer collaboration to build/create pieces of furniture/decorations/etc, exchange materials, recipes for building new items, experiencing different villagers emotions from different islands, and the list goes on and on. Highly recommend. Great job Nintendo!

I have always loved animal crossing, I highly recommend this game. So much thought has been put into it and it’s really evolved but not too drastically. It’s a cathartic and adorable game with sweet neighbors, fun tasks and awesome customizations of your island, home and even your wardrobe. I play with my 7yo who is just in love with this game, it’s good for passing time together. Five stars for sure.

I played this game every day and it is really a sweet game, with furniture, customs, houses, and villagers, it is very appealing to many Animal Crossing fans and gamers, even during the pandemic! I would highly recommend it to any gamer who would like to play this game for relaxation and visit islanders/friends local or online!

Basically got this just from seeing the hype and memes on Instagram. It is so much fun. If you enjoyed playing mysims on the wii or DS, animal crossing is perfect. No pressure. No stress. Just running around helping villagers, collecting beach items, and having a good time. I have been recommending this to all of my friends and am so excited to play more. Really easy to figure out how to work/play too.

I’ve been a huge fan of the Animal Crossing series since I was a child playing the original on the GameCube. This game is a perfect addition to the series!! The customization is incredible, the gameplay feels very natural, and the overall game is flawless! It’s super easy to get lost in this game for hours! It’s definitely worth getting the Nintendo Online service too so that you can play with friends!

So I am still working this game, but what I can tell is that the play to started the island gets to make most of the rules. You can now place items inside or out and as you play you seem to unlock more skill and stuff to do. Couch multiple player is follow the ladder, but it's easy to change the leader. You can buy stuff and make stuff from collected stuff! The game keeps you coming back for more.

Fantastic game to socialize with family and friends online. You can build anything, customize your house, decorate your place, and you can even design your own patterns for furniture and clothes. My favorite part are all the activities you can do. Like fishing, digging up fossils, catching insects, collecting various items, and also playing mini games with other neighbors and friends.

Great game! My island has turned into a little paradise, my villagers are basically my friends now, and I’ve spent hours fishing, decorating, and hunting for fossils. It’s totally relaxing… until I realize I’ve been playing for six hours straight!

Absolute must-buy if you own a Switch. Like no other game. Showcases how well the system can run and handle graphics when in the hands of the right developers. This game is packed with things to do and slowly unfolds itself over time depending on how much you put into it and how you like to play. Regular meaningful updates keep adding to the value of this title. Definitely recommended!

The game overall is beautiful, as a long time animal crossing veteran this game has been a huge jump in visuals. I played this game everyday for months upon receiving it. There is a good amount of content that will last you a while. The new features that allow you to freely customize the geography of your island creates tons of opportunity to have a beautiful island. After playing for a while, you get your island to how you want and you become left with doing your daily tasks. So, not much left to do. On top of that, the amount of furniture in the game seems to be significantly less than previous ones. Nintendo is putting out more updates for the game and plan to do so for a few years. Hopefully this will help fill the void of content that feels missing from the game.

Animal crossing has always been the greatest time waster in video games. It's a peaceful way to spend hours away from reality and gives you a great sense of accomplishment as you live day to day in your virtual paradise. Graphics are amazing and playing on a big screen made me fall in love with this game even more. If you've been a fan of the series in the past, you will NOT be disappointed!

Though you can't go outside, you can still see your friends with this game in real time. It gives you incentive to get up early and go to bed early/keep a routine, and keeps the mind busy. The graphics are beautiful, and left me stunned compared to the last installment in the series (including New Leaf and Pocket Camp). There is a lot of potential for the game. - Lots of items for customizing your islander - Tons of Islanders to befriend and invite to live on your island - Island is almost entirely changeable with the design tools Cons: - Only one person can follow the main plotline as island representative, similar to having a mayor role in New Leaf - Only one island per switch - Dialogue options are repetitive to navigate - Price (Feels like I got what I paid for, however)

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is .................. PRETTY AMAZING. I don't know why I put of playing this game for so long, guess I thought I wouldn't like it. But glad I took a gamble on this, I'm so in love with this game! It helps changes my pace with games I usually play that requires way more attention. If you want mindless and cute fun, this is perfect.

This is a great game, for Animal Crossing lovers and new fans alike. The quality of life changes for character customization, decoration, and inventory are all greatly appreciated. The villagers also seem to have regained more personality and I like the crafting pretty well. However, Animal Crossing has always been a slow burn sort of game and does involve some waiting. As for the multiplayer, I enjoy it as a namely solo player. You will need an online subscription for the true island to island multiplayer more than likely, as well as some features locked off into the Nintendo Online app. However, there is some local island to island multiplayer if you are in close proximity. I also enjoy the local co-op which I play with my friends with my guest account on my switch. Make no mistake, though. This game is ultimately a single player game with one island and thusly one island representative (the protagonist of the island that moves along urban development) per switch system (not per game). That ultimately means to have two islands to play with, say for two kids that both want to enjoy the entire story and island control, you will need two systems and two games. At least $520 overall usually, assuming you are purchasing the Lites. I wouldn't recommend this game for a solo switch household. There could be too much headache and heartbreak over a lovable virtual world.
