Overhyped? Not for Adult Male gamers?

Fast forward to 2020 and everyone bought this during COVID. It was fun at first with incremental unlocks in the game, picking up a rock, insect or fossil here and there. It was fun for a week with an hour or two a day, and then I just find myself going back to final fantasy 7 or other more "mature adult male games". Short, casual bursts of fun, sure. Hours of marathons? Nope. A $60 slow burn.
