Addictive! But true to the original

This is a game that you can lose yourself in for hours. Very tranquil and relaxing, but provides enough challenge to keep you interested. Fair warning, this starts off very slow at first, but picks up steam after the first week or so. True to the original with lots of the same elements, just better and much more visually appealing. Any Animal Crossing fan over the years is going to love this game. Highly recommended!

Great game! Family friendly. The only thing I don’t like is it is in real time. That means I’d an event is happening on Sunday at 7pm, you have to wait for that time and only that time to join.

I love playing and my daughter is happy to have something we can play together! Having played on someone else’s system, it’s nice to have an island of my own. Lots of time can be wasted playing but at least you’ll be having fun! I recommend this for anyone who needs a get away/escape from the real world for a little bit & likes to play at life.

Before purchasing this I was concerned that I would quickly become bored with this game. It has been 8 months and I still haven't run out of things to do on this game. The interactions with friends, and "traveling" to visit their islands during a time of real life social distancing really adds a level of warm fuzzy goodness. Kids of all ages can enjoy this game. I recommend it to anyone.

Having only played a bit of Animal Crossing New Leaf, this game is pretty incredible. Graphically it looks great on Nintendo Switch with great day/night transitions and sunrise/sunsets. There is so much to do in the game with some of the more tedious things having been removed compared to past entries. If you are stuck at home or just looking to pass some time, Animal Crossing New Horizons is a great way to go.

I am not much into Sim type of games, but I got this because a friend of mine recommend this to me. When I started playing, in no time I was playing every day for at least 30 minutes. It makes fishing, bug hunting, digging, and crafting so much fun. Every day there is are new tasks that allows you to earn points to redeem for items and services in the sim world. I don't know why but I go back for more every day.

    Revolutionary game

This game to me is revolutionary. 1) the game syncs to your time zone and weather forecast. If it is morning where you are, it is morning at the island. If it is a rainy (or shinny) day where you are, the island will have the same weather. 2) multiplayer is safer than I have seen in other consoles. Kids cannot talk via voice chat; however, they can text within the game. Also, you will need to input an island code to ask for a multiplayer friend, and that island code is as lengthy as a Microsoft Office key. It will be very hard to just play with just a random person. 3) multiplayer is the best. We have owned Xbox and PS. However, this game alone has been responsible for now owning 4 Nintendo switch consoles at home, just so we can play multiplayer animal crossing as a family. This also means that this is our 4th copy of animal crossing at home, as well. Xbox or PS games never had that effect in this house (the max we had was 2 PS at the house and that was to play call of duty multiplayer zombies). The thing unique with animal crossing is the peaceful, relaxed, family-oriented, little-kids friendly multiplayer collaboration to build/create pieces of furniture/decorations/etc, exchange materials, recipes for building new items, experiencing different villagers emotions from different islands, and the list goes on and on. Highly recommend. Great job Nintendo!

What hasn't been said about Animal Crossing? It's a fun game if you go into it with the right expectations. You get ONE ISLAND per family/Switch console. This means if you want 2 islands, you need a 2nd device. It's really just one player game, if you think of it that way. You can't have 2 people completing all of the story progressions. My kids are so small, they don't care.

Basically got this just from seeing the hype and memes on Instagram. It is so much fun. If you enjoyed playing mysims on the wii or DS, animal crossing is perfect. No pressure. No stress. Just running around helping villagers, collecting beach items, and having a good time. I have been recommending this to all of my friends and am so excited to play more. Really easy to figure out how to work/play too.

This game has provided much comfort for the quarantine periods, as I get to play it while working from home. The game play is amazing. Being an avid animal crossing fan, this is not the first time I'm playing this series. New Horizons has up-ed the ante by having better graphics and even more interesting stuffs in game. I am enjoying every minute of the game, and looking forward to more game time.

Absolute must-buy if you own a Switch. Like no other game. Showcases how well the system can run and handle graphics when in the hands of the right developers. This game is packed with things to do and slowly unfolds itself over time depending on how much you put into it and how you like to play. Regular meaningful updates keep adding to the value of this title. Definitely recommended!

I’m not sure who was more excited for this release: me or my wife! The gameplay here is pretty straight forward. You’re on an island, and it’s your job to build and populate it how you see fit. The level of detail and the amount of things that you can do is pretty staggering. And it’s all done with a level or adorable that is infectious, which given the times we find ourselves, is a much needed distraction. All of the content is rated E for Everyone, and you won’t find anything offensive or objectionable in the game. The controls are mostly very easy to use and quick to learn, even for kids. The short version is that you combine resource gathering and management, with crafting new items, building homes, and customizing every detail of your community. From building waterfalls, to going fishing, and decorating the interior of your house. There’s a lot of detail in all of these things, and you’re free to create at will. One of our favorite details is the day/night cycle which in sync’d the to Switch’s internal clock. So it’s morning in-game, when it’s morning in your timezone. It’s dark when it’s dark outside for you... you get the idea. It’s just a nice touch in-game. You can also play online with friends, allowing others to enter your town and send them messages in-game. Likewise you can visit a friend’s island remotely, or in-person through local multiplayer. Highly recommended!

I’ve been an animal crossing fan since the beginning and love this game. Even if you have never played, it is so much fun. You can do anything you want in the game. You can make money (bells), by collecting and selling. You can fish all day. You could just rest and listen to the ocean waves. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting a fun game where you want to live out your dream paradise

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is .................. PRETTY AMAZING. I don't know why I put of playing this game for so long, guess I thought I wouldn't like it. But glad I took a gamble on this, I'm so in love with this game! It helps changes my pace with games I usually play that requires way more attention. If you want mindless and cute fun, this is perfect.

Love the Game, but Everything has Cons

This is a great game, for Animal Crossing lovers and new fans alike. The quality of life changes for character customization, decoration, and inventory are all greatly appreciated. The villagers also seem to have regained more personality and I like the crafting pretty well. However, Animal Crossing has always been a slow burn sort of game and does involve some waiting. As for the multiplayer, I enjoy it as a namely solo player. You will need an online subscription for the true island to island multiplayer more than likely, as well as some features locked off into the Nintendo Online app. However, there is some local island to island multiplayer if you are in close proximity. I also enjoy the local co-op which I play with my friends with my guest account on my switch. Make no mistake, though. This game is ultimately a single player game with one island and thusly one island representative (the protagonist of the island that moves along urban development) per switch system (not per game). That ultimately means to have two islands to play with, say for two kids that both want to enjoy the entire story and island control, you will need two systems and two games. At least $520 overall usually, assuming you are purchasing the Lites. I wouldn't recommend this game for a solo switch household. There could be too much headache and heartbreak over a lovable virtual world.

I really enjoy playing this game. At first I thought it was for kids but I was very wrong once I realized it’s very entertaining. There is always something to do now that I’m in the process of working on my island. It’s super fun, such a cozy game to enjoy after a long day at work.
