Fun experience for all audiences from ages 10 to 18 and up. Living the island life to create new goals, complete new tasks, personalize your island to your liking. Connect with family and friends and visit each other's islands on-line and join each other in person with wireless offline local play. Share by transferring gifts, items, and more to enjoy a whole new experience. Also this game offers a 2 player co-op by adding a second Nintendo Switch game controller. Nintendo offers a free transfer app by moving your island from one switch console to another console by migrating your personal home and save files to a new island home and console hardware.

Awesome game!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game already took me back to Nintendo game cube times. Already I’m consumed by this game! There’s lots to do every time I start the game, so for sure never gonna be bored. That being collecting items, achieving goals, and traveling to new islands. And my favorite part is customizable items, and playing with friends has made it even better! There’s so much more thanks to updates via WiFi for example the current and first even is the bunny event. I’m exited to see what’s ahead in the game. And yes I definitely do recommend the game!

Excellent new version of a classic.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let’s just say right off the bat, Animal Crossing is NOT for everyone. AC is an extremely slow paced “life simulation” game. There is no action here, there is no running and gunning, there is no jumping on mushrooms, no fighting space aliens, none of that. So you NEED to understand that from the start. This game is about taking life slow. You move to a sparsely populated island where You live in a tent.. then by collecting bugs and fruit, fishing, Collecting wood, and other various tasks you earn money to pay off your tent. Then build a house, expand the house and repeat. Travel to other islands and get new fruit...grow new trees. Earn more money from the new fruit. Keep fishing until you Catch the rare fish. Bug collecting? Stop back late at night in hopes of findIn a tarantula or scorpion depending on what time of year it is in real life. Sell them for bells (money) or turn them in at the now open museum and build a collection. Maybe you can dig for fossils to take to the museum while your at it. Are you getting the picture yet? It’s a game of collecting, of finding rare items, or making money and spending money. It’s a slow paced, relaxing game session that you can play for 30-1hr a day and slowly build your digital life. It’s perfect for someone who wants a change of pace from other games, or wants to relax for a few minutes because that’s all the time the have. ONE FINAL WORD OF IMPORTANCE! Every profile on your switch shares 1 island. ( example. Myself, my wife, and my daughter all love on one island.). What one islander does can and does effect the rest. There is no way to change this setting. AS PART IF THIS the FIRST PERSON to play becomes the main person. There are things that the first person must do and things ONLY they can do. So unless you want to be logging into You child’s account to make important island changes( like I have to do since she started playing it first!). Make sure if you want control you start the island first THEN let them play. So there you have it....it’s not a game for everyone. But it’s one that is a breath of refreshing slow paced air in a world filled with high octane gaming most of the time.

Fun for all ages.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start of and say I love this game, it is fun, addictive, time consuming, and easy for anyone to pick up and play. I have been playing Animal crossing games since they released in North America in 2002 and you would think that the games would become monotonous but on the contrary this game still feels new and fresh. This game is a good way to connect with your kids also, I have a 14 boy who is mainly a first person shooter gamer. This is not the kind of game he has ever played but he decided he was going to use is birthday money, allowance, and money he earned for having good grades to buy the game. I was so surprised that he wanted the game and was happy to have him venturing out into other gaming genres. We play daily together the game makes it so you can be together on the same island and fish, catch bugs, wish on stars, swim, have fishing contests, trade items, water flowers, and buy gifts for each other. I have been able to have a game that we can connect with and it is awesome. Now the cons: This game is expensive! I’m not just talking the $59.00 price tag for just the game. I’m talking the almost $400.00 price tag for the game and system! You can only have one Animal crossing island per Nintendo Switch console, sure you can have multiple players on one island but only one one person can do the story line and terraform the island. If you want the whole game experience you have to have a Nintendo Switch and game for each person in your home that wants to have their own island. You also have to have Nintendo online access account which is $19.00 a year. I suggest if you have more then one person in your home that need Nintendo online access to buy the family plan for $35.00 because then you can have up to 9 different people using the Nintendo online access. Heck you could make a deal with friends and distant family to pay a little money and they can be on your family plan. So if you want a game that is nonviolent and wholesome, that can get the whole family gaming together this is your game! I really hope you get this game and remember it’s not just for kids!

||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been an animal crossing fan since the GameCube version. I always found this game to be so darn addicting and there is always something to do!! :) Animal crossing has come a long way they even had a couple games on the wii but I honestly wasn’t much of a fan for those versions. Now the Nintendo switch version is on a whole nother level! Graphics, gameplay, characters and customization is amazing! Get this game if you’ve been a long time fan or if you’re looking for an everyday game.

Build your own little world, from the ground up.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been a really long time since the last game in the Animal Crossing series, and even longer for me. I've been waiting since Wild World on the DS from back in 2005! Now having played New Horizons for at least 85 hours, I'm glad I waited. I think of Animal Crossing as more of a toy than a game. There's no particular challenge, goal, or conditions for "winning". You just have your own little world to live in, doing your daily routines. The series' fundamental principal is that it takes place real time. What you do today might not pay off for days. Visitors wander in and out of your town, each offering their own new opportunities to enhance your virtual life. The quirky animal residents form bonds with you over weeks or months. They'll celebrate holidays and birthdays with you. This Nintendo Switch installment in the series concentrates on online interactivity with other players. It's something I haven't tried for myself at all, so I can't comment on that. No game ever quite has *everything* I want, but this one gets really close! The biggest and best new freedoms are the ability to sculpt the landscape, and even relocate entire buildings. For me, Animal Crossing goes a long way to satisfy my insatiable urge to collect "stuff". There's furniture, fish, insects, wallpaper and flooring, all kinds of random knick-knacks, and many of them offer active features. Lights and appliances can be turned on and off, animations and sounds can be triggered in anything from popcorn machines to pinball tables. A few home furnishings even provide fairly vital functions, like accessing your clothes from some kind of storage closet, or crafting new DIY items at your own workbench. There really aren't many games that offer the relaxed, aimless, ongoing "live in" quality of Animal Crossing. The handful of fly-by-night imitators seldom approach the Nintendo level of a meticulous, thoughtful experience. Animal Crossing is for anyone and everyone, and that's never been more true than it is for this one. If you haven't already been drawn into the series, now is the right time.

A Personal Paradise
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Animal Crossing is hard to explain its greatness till you play it. That said the newest installment on the switch looks gorgeous and is fun to play solo and with friends. A few features from past games are missing but updates are brining them back. The most recent update brought back scrubs. This new entry gives more customization then ever before with the ability to make furniture and even teraform your island. Definitely a must have to pass time.

Video game version of Chicken Soup for the Soul
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You create your character. You move to an island to start a new life and your only objective is to move at your own pace while mingling with your animal neighbors. This is the foundation of Animal Crossing. On the surface it’s a game rooted in creating relationships and spending time together but what lies beneath that flowery veneer is a deep and addicting (for most) gameplay cycle that all but entices you to visit every day. The game is tied to the system clock of your console. Therefor whatever time it is in the real world it’s that time in game and certain events are available at specific times. More often than not if you choose to play for hours or a few minutes there will be plenty for you to do. For instance, I played today for 35 minutes and in that time I was able to forage for fruit, gather materials to craft some furniture, catch some fish and bugs to donate to my museum where they’re put on display and dig up some fossils for a similar purpose. I’m not a pro gamer but I consider myself to be an original animal Crossing gamer since GameCube and can confidently say there is something for everybody to enjoy regardless of this is your first game or not. The co op is a bit frustrating and the fact there’s only one island per console seems a bit too restrictive but this is Nintendo and they’ve been making questionable gameplay decisions with regard to inclusiveness For years. Despite the blemishes that can easily be seen it isn’t even close to being enough to stop this diamond’s shine. Animal Crossing is a wonderful series and New Horizons pushes it forward in almost every way.

Excellent game
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having only played a bit of Animal Crossing New Leaf, this game is pretty incredible. Graphically it looks great on Nintendo Switch with great day/night transitions and sunrise/sunsets. There is so much to do in the game with some of the more tedious things having been removed compared to past entries. If you are stuck at home or just looking to pass some time, Animal Crossing New Horizons is a great way to go.

Best Animal Crossing Yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've played the previous games, you know. It's a charming, happy, low-stress game that you can play a little bit every day for a long time. This one has the most stuff to do, most customization, best graphics and most streamlined gameplay in the series. If you're interested, I totally recommend. If you've played the others, then you already know basically how you'll feel about this one.

Amazing for the quarantine gamers
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has provided much comfort for the quarantine periods, as I get to play it while working from home. The game play is amazing. Being an avid animal crossing fan, this is not the first time I'm playing this series. New Horizons has up-ed the ante by having better graphics and even more interesting stuffs in game. I am enjoying every minute of the game, and looking forward to more game time.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tottaly love this game! You can do too many things in it, like have your own house, neighbors, it is so cute, funny and enjoyable. In this hard times it is great if you want to play with some friends (via Switch Online) so you can see them and go to each other islands! Its fantastic. But if you are looking for a game with some story in it, there are another options.

Endless Fun for kids and adults alike...
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not sure who was more excited for this release: me or my wife! The gameplay here is pretty straight forward. You’re on an island, and it’s your job to build and populate it how you see fit. The level of detail and the amount of things that you can do is pretty staggering. And it’s all done with a level or adorable that is infectious, which given the times we find ourselves, is a much needed distraction. All of the content is rated E for Everyone, and you won’t find anything offensive or objectionable in the game. The controls are mostly very easy to use and quick to learn, even for kids. The short version is that you combine resource gathering and management, with crafting new items, building homes, and customizing every detail of your community. From building waterfalls, to going fishing, and decorating the interior of your house. There’s a lot of detail in all of these things, and you’re free to create at will. One of our favorite details is the day/night cycle which in sync’d the to Switch’s internal clock. So it’s morning in-game, when it’s morning in your timezone. It’s dark when it’s dark outside for you... you get the idea. It’s just a nice touch in-game. You can also play online with friends, allowing others to enter your town and send them messages in-game. Likewise you can visit a friend’s island remotely, or in-person through local multiplayer. Highly recommended!

Where do I start
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My family's been playing Animal Crossing since 2002 starting on the Nintendo Gamecube. We've played all of them over the years but New Horizons is by far the greatest leap forward in game play and the shear amount of content available. Not to forget all the detail added. From wind swaying the trees to the water flowing down the river it's just beautiful. And it's fun to play.

Very Fun and Relaxing Game!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had never played an Animal Crossing game before this one. After hearing about New Horizons and watching some reviews and gameplay footage, I decided to purchase the game. I'm glad I did. It's a nice change of pace from the games I usually play. Being a newbie to the series, the game can be a little confusing to start, but once you get going you begin to get into a daily routine with it. The game also runs in real-time which I think is an awesome feature. For example, if you purchase an item in the mail in the game, you won't get it until the next day. House expansions, campsites, etc all take a real day to appear in the game after you make the spot for it on your island. Some people do what's called "time traveling" in the game. This is where they change the date on the Switch system to make the game think it's another day. People do this to get things done faster. I enjoy the slow pace of it so time traveling is not for me. There are a lot of cool characters in the game who each have their own personality. I can't even begin to tell you how many items are in this game to customize and craft for your own home and island. Thousands upon thousands I would say. This is a great game to pick up and play when you only have a short amount of time to game or even if you want to do a long session. Highly recommend.

ACNH, best game from the series
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this game so much, but after Nintendo stopped allowing the use of sharing digital games through primary and secondary switches, me and my wife had to play one at a time, so I bought a physical copy, cause it was cheaper at the time, and now we can both play together again, and just visit each others towns via local play, instead of online all the time now. Great stuff!

You will lose your life
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.if you buy this game for your children and there are multiple children in the house you will either have to buy additional switches or deal with a whole bunch of fussing and fighting due to the fact that said kids will be forced on the same island in order to play with each other and resources are scarce The only thing after certain point you're going to be able to do in an island is fish and look for seashells and I'll tell you what that does not keep kids busy You're going to keep a kid busy you give them their own thing switch I recommend the switch light and then get a copy of the game however if you have families that are above the you know three max limit per day you might want to have to look somewhere that allows you to get more than three because otherwise you will be doing physical and/or digital purchases this game will suck the life out of you in terms of time you will look suddenly up and think where did my day go oh I was going and planting trees just be advised that what you do is going to make no dang sense for the first few days that slimy raccoon is going to make sure that you have a loan payment bigger than the loan payment for your house if it was equitable to dollars you have been warned
