Our 7 year old is hooked on this game. He spends a lot of time farming items to sell for money then telling us how rich he is. Game has an appeal for a wide age range. No violence or bad language so good for the younger crowd.

I’ve never played an Animal Crossing game before. This was a completely unexpected surprise. It has given our family hours of entertainment and seems to continuously evolve. I don’t see the novelty wearing off anytime soon. Love it!!!!

This game was released at the exact right time and truly helped us cope during the first few months of stay-at-home orders. There are a lot of fun features in this game like the many iterations before it, but this one made a little magic. First, it's the first game my mom really wanted to spend time playing and my parents were actually able to play together. Second, it allowed my young children a fun way to interact with my family while they were unable to physically visit us. While talking over the phone they would play hide-and-seek, go fishing, play dress up, and all other kinds of activities with my parents and siblings who have all also purchased the game. Third, it gave me, a tired SAHM whose husband was lucky enough to gain more work through all of this, something that I could control in just the way I wanted it. I spent many hours decorating my island and deciding which yard fit which villager. While hunting for supplies and doing daily tasks my kids could play with me (they liked to chop trees and catch bugs). We even made ourselves a little village where all of our houses sit together and the kids made a character and house for my husband as well. It's been fun working together to upgrade everyone's homes and collect items and outfits. We're really thankful for this game and though we don't play it quite as much as we did a couple months ago, it's still our go to for a lazy relaxing afternoon.

This is a great game to play to help pass the time and calm yourself. You can play this at your own pace and with friends locally and online. This has been a great way to pass the time while under quarantine and still have fun with friends.

I've really enjoyed playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons so far. It's so much fun, and the controls are really easy to learn. Creating my island, picking my villagers and collecting fish, fossils and art is so much fun. Great game.

Got this for my daughter and she loves it! She said it was a lot like the original, but that they had streamlined it and made it easier to do the things that she liked. She bought a Nintendo Switch just to play this game.

This game is great for everyone. Being able to set furniture outside opens up many possibilities to build your dream island. The environment is very calming. The sound design is great! Feels like you’re there at the island. Expanding your island with new villagers and shops is very satisfying. Watching it all come together as the the ideas keep flowing. However I wish the face design was around the whole face. This game is a laid back and expressive game. The more creative your ideas are, the more fun you will have. And the ideas come naturally with all the tools you are provided. You’ll get even more tools later in the game. The developers really put a lotta effort. You can customize almost everything even tiny details on cups and plates and stuff. Sucks that the data is ties to the switch. Other than that, it’s awesome! :)

Looking for the ultimate time-killer everyone in the family can pickup and play? Look no further! If you've ever played an Animal Crossing, the latest iteration in the series is a no-brainer purchase which expands on everything the previous games have done to date. If you're new to the series, you may be wondering what all the fuss is about. It's an honest question which can't be answered unless you give the game a try - and then you can expect to pour 100 hours or better into "beating" the main objective. However, there's no push to do anything you don't want to with this game, which is the main appeal. You can pick it up, spend ten minutes or ten hours with it - then pass of the Switch to your spouse or one of the kids (I have a six-year-old who is a whiz at it). Highly recommended.

This is my first animal crossing game and I'm obsessed. It's very relaxing, yet tons of fun, and it's been played every day so far since release. The only flaw I've come across so far is the approach to multiple users and co-op play. Most people are aware that the premise of this game is that you move to a deserted island and make it your home. A drawback for a lot of people is that there is only ONE island per Nintendo Switch. This means if you have several people who want to play the game on the same system, they will all live on the same island. I was aware of this going in, and was fine with it. My girlfriend and I have been creating and living on pur island together and it's great. However, not all island residents seem to be created equal. The first user who boots up the game and creates a character gets the title of "Resident Representative". This person carries most of the authority for the progression of the island. Only they will be able to take tasks, place new buildings, and choose where to put things like bridges and ramps. For my situation, this hasn't been a big issue as my girlfriend and I play and make the decisions together, it's just that she needs to be the one to put those decisions in place. It leaves my character feeling like just another resident, a little less important to the island. So, naturally, one would start to want their own island, one where they have the main authority over everything. And then you remember that's impossible. One island per Switch. That's the rule, and it doesn't seem likely to change. So let's say one day my girlfriend gets her own Switch and wants her own island too. Then I could have my own island on my Switch too, but it would have to be at the cost of deleting our joint island, which we've both grown attached to already. The game is thoroughly enjoyable, but I think people should be aware of potential problems when it comes to multiple island residents and save files.

I questioned if this game was worth its price at first. I spent the first month of having it not playing it, but now I can’t stay away. It’s like the sims but cuter. Great for kids and adults. It’s a relaxing mind game.

These games were never on my radar, I play shooters and rpg's mainly like the Witcher and the like. My wife got into and convinced me to try it. I am loving it so far and initially wrote it off as something I wouldn't like. If you enjoy games such the Sims, pokemon, and games such as minecraft or terraria that require collecting, tons of loot and crafting you will enjoy this. While there is no true combat other than the occassional wasp nest or turantula, there is a ton of customization and charm. For me, I listen to a podcast in my headphones and play this with sound off as a way to unwind and relax before bed. It is very open-ended and lets you to play the way you want. For me I love the farming and gardening as well as the collecting of rare bugs, my wife loves the decorating and customizations aspect.

Perfect for kids and adults. My wife and my 4 year old daughter love to spend rainy days in at home growing flowers, collecting bugs, and building their town. But don't be fooled, this is not a kids game. My daughter can't read, and even if she could there is a LOT of text when it comes to learning how these work around the island. But once we explain what needs to be done she gets the hang of it. We are grateful for this game bringing us all a little closer together as we work towards completing bug, fossil, and fish collections at the museum, laying down roads to connect our houses, and helping the other islanders solve their problems. Animal Crossing has always been great and this entry is no exception.
