So I am still working this game, but what I can tell is that the play to started the island gets to make most of the rules. You can now place items inside or out and as you play you seem to unlock more skill and stuff to do. Couch multiple player is follow the ladder, but it's easy to change the leader. You can buy stuff and make stuff from collected stuff! The game keeps you coming back for more.

Animal Crossing is a fun and relaxing game. My child enjoys it. Its nice to see the seasons and weather change. Its a realtime type of game and never ending. You can build your own island and enjoy yourself online with others and enjoy there island as well. Its played just about everyday. It can be played before school and after for a relaxing feel after a long day.

So much fun --- but YOU CAN ONLY NAME YOUR ISLAND ONCE! So once you choose that name there is no going back. When we got the game we were under the impression that each new game would be its own island etc etc but that is not the case. The one island will be cohabited by everyone that plays the same game on the same console. Its different but a lot of fun!

I bought this on a whim, thinking maybe I’d get a little enjoyment out of it. It soon became a near obsession. It’s hard to explain the appeal—doesn’t sound like a lot of fun—you have to do chores to earn money (or bells) to purchase items. But it’s so much more than that, and getting the upgrades, filling the museum, and landing those rare items will have you playing for countless hours.

Animal Crossing is an amazing series that helped a lot of people in quarantine. If you like a chill relaxed game where you make your own spaces then definitely pick this up. Long term fans of the series will love but there is a LOT of content missing that was in previous games. I really hope they start having bigger updates, even the mobile game has more/cooler furniture.

This was my first Animal Crossing game and I'm probably not in the main demographic, so I wasn't too optimistic. However, this turned out to be one of my favorite Switch games. I even poured over 100 hours into it the first month. As a fan and daily player of simulation games, this was a perfect match for me. End of game content is great too. I keep playing long after the credits have rolled.

If you've played the previous games, you know. It's a charming, happy, low-stress game that you can play a little bit every day for a long time. This one has the most stuff to do, most customization, best graphics and most streamlined gameplay in the series. If you're interested, I totally recommend. If you've played the others, then you already know basically how you'll feel about this one.

I've been playing the Animal Crossing games since the first one. This game is a whole lot prettier than previous installments and offers a whole new level of customization. There are features that are missing from this game, including Redd, the coffee shop, Club LOL is gone. Tortimer, Kapp'n, and Ressetti are MIA. The game will probably have patches or DLC to include some of these features later.

Fantastic game to socialize with family and friends online. You can build anything, customize your house, decorate your place, and you can even design your own patterns for furniture and clothes. My favorite part are all the activities you can do. Like fishing, digging up fossils, catching insects, collecting various items, and also playing mini games with other neighbors and friends.

I purchased this game about 3 weeks ago and it is a joy to play it. COVID-19 has left us all sheltering in place, and this game has been a bright spot when the news every day is daunting. It's not stressful, the characters are adorable, and even my husband plays on his own island. I'm very happy with this purchase and now plan to purchase the earlier versions of this series. Highly recommended.

Amazing installment in the Animal Crossing series by Nintendo. I started this game on New Years Eve and already have over 50 hours into it. Have loved every second. Will easily play for hundreds of hours more while I tweak, tune & customize my town! Such a laid back and move at your own pace game. Very relaxing to play after a long day at work. Highly recommend!

If you are a long time fan of the series you won’t be disappointed, but you won’t be amazed. It is more of the same “animal crossing formula,” but that is not necessarily a point I would hold against it. Animal crossing is always an adorable game that draws you in to the charming atmosphere and lovable characters. If you enjoy it you will inevitably donate many hours to grow your town, recruit more neighbors, and build friendships with everyone. Over the last year it has shown that Nintendo has not steadily updated the game with many events that make me want to come back to play that often. There are new updates coming soon, but may not be completing for some. The biggest drawbacks of this game are the online functionality, which barely works, and is extremely frustrating when traveling from town to town. Trying to move your saved data to another switch (if you decide to upgrade your switch) is non existent. Nintendo has never been user friendly with any online services within games and this does not break that mold. If you are looking for another animal crossing experience you won’t be disappointed if you can overlook the online issues that cause frustration.

It’s so addicting! It’s amazing how they managed to cram so much to do on an island. I’m used to games where there are dungeons and other areas to open up. Stardew Valley was one, but this game keeps you coming back. They add in content that pertains to real life events going on in real time which is awesome. Fish, bugs, birthdays and just recently we received a swimming update! Awesome!

Can’t leave your house? Practicing social distancing? This game is the best, you’re on a tropical island, you can grow plants and catch bugs and talk to your friends on other islands! I’ve been in the house but this game makes me feel like i’m on vacation. there’s always something new every time i open the game. it’s the perfect pastime while we all get through this indoors. I recommend it 10/10
