I can't explain the purpose of the game but I can explain that Animal Crossing does live up to the hype. Nonstop fun and hours goes by before you even realized how long you have been playing. I was worried at first about playing because of not understanding it, but if you own a switch, you must own this game.

Excellent game to enjoy with friends or family. This is a great game for those that would like to not focus so much on what is required to do be done but rather comfortably willing to explore and create items for your characters. Great game even if you have not played the games in the past!

I’m writing this review on behalf of my fiancée. I brought this game for her and she hasn’t stopped playing it. We live in New York and she connects with her friends who have the game as well that live in Colorado and Maryland. She likens it to sims but with a more personal touch

This is the first animal crossing game I’ve ever played, and I love it. I was originally skeptical about paying full price for a game where I would be paying off debt and doing menial tasks. But once I’ve played it for a while, it’s really grown on me. I don’t really know how to explain it but it’s addicting

Such a chill game, you can literally leave this on in the background and the pleasant sounds from the island will most likely relax you in these stressful times. The game is deep, but not overwhelming. The game is charming, but not incredibly campy either. Nintendo magic at work! What are you waiting for?

I’ve been playing this game since I was a kid on my DS so this brought back lots of nostalgia. This version has so many more features on it than the older ones and that just makes it so much better. If you’re looking for a chill, slice-of-life game to play, this is the one to get.

This game is definitely not for everyone. But, if you enjoy life-sim games and you need something relaxing to play, this is the game to pick-up. It does start out slow, admittedly. But, the awarding achievement system, elements of customization, and some of the best visuals on Switch make up for that easily.

Purchased this game for my son and myself. We both were able to play using a Nintendo Online Family account which we purchased for a reasonable amount yearly. It is a good clean game with good humor and it’s very open in the sense that you can customize just about anything once you reach a certain point.

Well I purchased this game for my daughter as a summer gift for finishing her book club task. Never playing any of the games in the collection, I didn’t know what to expect. So now we are addict to playing this game. I just ordered another copy of this game for my switch so we can link our islands.

I’ve only played the animal crossing on the GameCube but once I got my switch I couldn’t wait to buy the switch version. The graphics are nice and the game itself has many interesting features much different than before. It was a nostalgic game and was very impressed when I got to play it.

Where do I start? Turnips? Bridges? Chill? Yup it has the things you would expect an animal crossing to have. This is the best release for this series ever. Highly recommended. It’s one flaw? One island per nintendo switch. So if you’re a one switch household, prepare to share your island with your family.

My 9 yr old daughter loves this game! Says it’s so much fun and loves that she can “visit” her friends and family with the game. If you are looking at this game for a little one, keep in mind there is a good amount of reading that has to be done to play so not recommended for younger ones that can’t yet.

New Horizons came out at a perfect time for many. Being a game with no clear goal, but an absolute ton of customization, you had an outlet that anybody could enjoy. My time with the game was initially quite high. Since the first month or so, I’ve played far less. However unlike prior titles in the series, there is absolutely nothing held against me for leaving it be. As someone who plays games in what one could call phases, this is absolutely a positive. I strongly suggest purchasing the game as a digital copy due to not only how the Switch works in general, but Animal Crossing New Horizons in particular. Save data is on the system itself, and New Horizons can’t be backed up through normal means. There is no additional fear of data loss (if you’re like me, anyways) by going the digital route, as there is no difference in what is lost between the two options. That rambling aside, having a title like this in a place of easily booting up at any given time furthers the carefree feel of the title. Drop in anytime.

Game came in very good time and as expected. I have been playing it some each day. Good game not difficult but interesting. Have chores. Similar to the prior games but different in its own way. Fun to play. Relaxing. Good purchase. Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch

I actually bought a second copy of this game on September 11. I've had it sine April though. My fiance and I love playing it together. The multiplayer on one system is a bit rough but overall the game is absolutely fantastic! The entire concept is an A plus and it's a very relaxing game to play.

This game is really fun. I'm a long time fan of the Animal Crossing(AC) series. And I've been having a lot of fun with New Horizons. Customizing my island and making friends with my villagers has been pretty fun. I do have a few gripes with it like certain tools and adding updates to the game. Like swimming, Swimming was already in the base of the previous game new leaf. But here you have to wait for it in a summer update, same for the dream station. And there are still some big things missing like brewsters. But overall I've had a very fun time and it's a relaxing game to play for the stressful day.

Bought this for my kids, but ended up being cannibalized by the wife in terms of playing time. The graphics are good for a SIM game, and the island theme is a big plus since that's what we're into vacation wise. If you can't travel, might as well pretend you're on an island with this game.

This game is a wonderful continuation in the series. The graphical updates are stunning. The game has enough of the tedious/ mundane tasks that keep the game going. The randomization of fish/ insects/ and other tasks like popping a balloon, chopping wood, designing your home makes this game a joy and wonder.

Although it starts out a little slow, you’ll be back into the animal crossing routine by the second hour of playing. It’s a great game to play for a little bit at a time, perfect for casual gamers. But it also has expansive options for extended play, including visiting other islands, grinding for bells, etc.
