Animal Crossing has taken so many hours of my children's lives, but at least it makes them use creativity! Close to a mix of Minecraft and Farmland.

Animal Crossing New Horizons is fun for kids and adults young at heart. The game was a perfect time killer during the summer 2020 quarantine. It's fun building your private island, and the ability to visit a friend’s island makes it even more fun! You must have internet access and a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to visit other people’s islands. Nintendo provides monthly software updates to the game, which also changes with the season of your chosen hemisphere. The game has a vast online community to help customize clothing prints and other island designs.

It all started with my in-law bugging my wife to purchase the game because he was certain she would like it. Granted, this is coming from a gamer who is telling his sister to play games, which she never liked, ever, since the beginning of her time lol. After enough bugging from the in-laws, she bit and took the game home. 200 hours of gameplay later it's safe to say she LOVED the heck out of this game! Fast forward another 50 hours (on my end) and I can say this game is freakishly addicting, apart from its defects like island sharing etc., this game is simply a must have.

Crazy crazy addicting game. It has expanded so much since when I was a kid and I really enjoy playing it. One thing I wish is that the creators would release updates a little faster because you really can move through the game quickly and then get bored every once in a while. That can mostly be resolved by time traveling which brings about new seasons and new bugs and fish and such, but if you don't want to time travel you might end up bored a little faster. In the beginning it definitely keeps you busy there for a good couple a months, depending how frequently you are playing it of course.

This game got me through most of the disaster of a year it's been. Just a nice get away from everything with friends and cute animal villagers. Been a fan of the series since GameCube and this game, although missing some things from previous titles, definitely delivers on what new features and gameplay it introduced. And it looks like they're trinkling in some old and new features over time so there's something to go back to every month. It's definitely better than just playing a few time a month to catch the bug and fish of the month and attending the few events and holidays.

I have loved animal crossing since I had my very first Nintendo ds when the game came out. This island version is super fun and really still reminds you of the original just in a different world. I also love that you’re able to play online with friends or with current members local or not. 5 stars! It’s always fun.

I didn't think I would like it but holy crap 300hrs into the game I am still not bored with it. I got the originally for my daughter's (6) switch, then I got it for mine to play on her island and stuff for fun, then end up getting it for my other daughter (4) and we all end up playing together. There's something about the relax play style which is fun, then those villagers and their interactions sometimes catch me off guard and its hilarious. definitely worth your time.

While the Animal Crossing Series is definitely geared towards a younger audience, I (20 year old, male, college student) have really enjoyed this game as it is a great way to de-stress, relax, and have the gratification of seeing the development of your virtual island. PROS: Much better graphics than previous games in the series. Interact with friends with both a Nintendo Switch and the game. A needed much needed relaxation from these stressful times. CONS: Online mode can be slow, tedious, and sometimes frustrating. Player needs to work hard to stay engaged with the game.

As with most first party Nintendo releases, they hit it out of the park! Anybody who is a fan of the previous games, you won't be disappointed. Anybody who is coming in new, this is a very simple game to pick up that you will ultimately lose hundreds of hours to playing. The game premise is simple: build up a small society on a deserted island by mining resources, selling items, building infrastructure and item crafting. Fun seasonal events occur in real time, and the laid back nature of the game provides a stress free playing environment. If you own a Switch, you should own Animal Crossing!

This is a great game that my son loves to play and it is also a game that adults can play as well. It allows my son during the pandemic to play with his friends on line in a game where you create your own section of the world and they can come and visit the area that you have built in the game. This is a game that I can also go in and play with my son with and at the same time check on my son at the same time. Also I like how this game does not have violence all throughout the game. A must for kids and adults alike.

Best Animal Crossing game yet! Unlike previous games in the series, you can now terraform your island! Can also place items outside of your house. Easily lose hundreds of hours designing the island you want. Lots of designs online you can download via codes, for custom paths, clothes, etc. The only downside of this game is that every user on your Switch is on the same island. Meaning you have to share your island. Sometimes that other user might accidently change your look of an area or kick out your favorite villager, etc. Really odd choice for them to make it one island per Switch console. Online play is optional & is very clunky. You have to enter a code to enter a friend's island, there's lots of loading hiding behind the fly over animation/cutscenes, where it takes like 30 seconds to 5 minutes before you can actually move around on their island. Meanwhile your friend & everyone else already on the island is interrupted & also have to wait. It gets really annoying when multiple people visit during the same session. Lots of waiting as each player loads.
