After a coworker gave Animal Crossing New Horizons a glowing review, I bought it for myself. I'd never played any AC games before, and was not disappointed. A nice, relaxing game for when I'm looking for a less intense game. But, there is still so much to do in the game that I rarely ever get bored with it.

Cuteness overloard with a dash of time gating

After all the raving I had to give Animal Crossing on Switch a try. I can safely say I've had fun with my time in the game so far, but the time gating mechanics are a little disappointing. Having to wait an entire day for major plot points to pass sucks a bit, and it feels at times like things to do are a bit sparse until you get to that next point, but the charm never seems to let up. Please keep in mind it's a very simple game, so if you get bored quickly you might want to look elsewhere for your entertainment. If you're looking for something a bit more complex and fast place along the same vein, i'd highly recommend Forager.

I don't normally play these types of games and had never played Animal Crossing before, but this is a lot of fun. The game is full of charm and even simple things are entertaining in it. I wish there was some more quality of life improvements (e.g. crafting), but all in all it is a great time that anyone can enjoy.

I have never played Animal Crossing before but my friends have always raved about it. I got it the day it was released and so far it has been a blast. It reminds me of the Sims game. It's a game where you don't have to think too much. Slow paced but not boring. You do things at your own time. It's an enjoyable game!

Everybody in the family loves this game. We all take daily turns on it. This is our second copy of the game to go on our second Switch! Fun for all ages, and especially the best thing since video games were invented. Nobody wants to get off the game so we set up another system. Avg time- 3hrs per person.

Animal Crossing is such a chill and relaxing game. Yet I still find myself feeling somewhat competitive in wanting to expand/grow my character's surroundings as compared to my family. There's loads of stuff to unlock, new objects, new features, so there's always that feeling of discovery as you continue to play.

Thia is a great game for children, teenagers and adults. I messed around and couldn’t find the one that I previously purchased so I ended up purchasing another one. If you’re having thoughts about buying this game please do so w/out any hesitation!

A fun game that's easy to pick up and hard to put down. After you finish the intro you can save at any time, which I like. It's cute and doesn't just appeal to kids - I know plenty of adults who play and love this game as well, just like myself. It's relaxing and very enjoyable to pass the time while in quarantine.

I got lucky enough and was able to order a Nintendo Switch from Best Buy mainly to try this game and see what all the hype was about. This is my very first time playing any Animal Crossing game. I have to say I’m thoroughly surprised. If you’re looking for a game to just sit back, relax, and escape to this is it.

My kids have always loved playing Nintendo games. Animal Crossing is their favorite even now at age 22 and 26. My daughter will be receiving the Nintendo switch for her birthday along with this new Animal Crossing game. This is all she has been talking about and can’t wait till she gets her hands on it. : )

I am new to AC. I gave it a try on 3DS, and it didn’t click with me. With all the excitement around New Horizons, I gave it a try. Now that we’re quarantined, I’m living vicariously through this game. I’m crafting. I’m planting. I’m exploring. Gotta catch the bugs. Gotta smack some rocks. This game is my life now.

Can't stop playing this game. Every time a take a break the end up doing something new and then I like I never ever played the game in the first place. This game is also fun since you can decorate your whole island for everyone to see. Can't wait to see what else Nintendo has planned for this game.

I bought it for my wife. She said didn't think she would play it. Then she played it. And now she won't stop playing it. I have so much free time without her telling me what to fix around the house. This game is amazing.

I originally bought this for my daughter. Now that we are in lockdown, all three of us (my wife, my daughter, and I) take turns playing. It's great to be able to play together as a family on one console, but it's essential to have 2 copies if you want to do more than just be stuck to the other person the whole time

Animal Crossin: New Horizons is the game that we need right now. Charming, relaxing, and positive; it's the perfect game to help take your mind off the outside world. There's a lot of great quality of life improvements from previous entries, and interacting with my village and villagers is just as engaging as ever.

Tom Nook lures you to a beautiful island only to trap you in endless debt. Why is it that I am the only one funding the communities improvements and activities? Can’t the rest of the inhabitants work as well? Oh well, here is an island where I basically play god choosing who stays and who goes. Most enjoyable is the ability to travel to distant islands, strip them of all their resources, leaving them a desolate rock while the native inhabitants stare at me in horror. I also enjoy the ability to join peaceful protests of foreign oppressive regimes. This game grants the player a lot of freedom, even if it is all virtual.

It's one of the most relaxing, friendly game series there is, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons ($59.99) for the Nintendo Switch is no different. It adds some new features like crafting to the mix, but it still offers the same low-pressure, Zen-like experience of its predecessors.
