A Second Life
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Animal Crossing has always felt like an escape into another reality. In the height of the pandemic this game brought so much to the table. Craft, build, buy, and trade your way into creating your perfect little island paradise to melt away hours in. Fishing, collecting, designing, discovering everything is here. A little something for everyone. 10/10

Amazing title for the whole family
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful feel good game for the whole family. Regardless if it's little siblings, or my adult self playing this game, we all have fun building our own village in a paradise island at our own pace. Exploring its nature, meeting new animal neighbors, listening to relaxing fun music, all in a colorful environment, make this the most peaceful and inclusive game I have ever played!

Excellent game
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t get to play games often but this is a nice title you can pick up and play as much as you want and then turn off and come back whenever you’re ready for more. Tons of content to keep you busy. I’ve already poured 60+ hours into the game and I am nowhere near being sick of it. No stress involved with gameplay, just very relaxing. Well worth picking up in my opinion.

Surprisingly addicting, but slow
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game for when you just want to chill. It's surprisingly addicting. I wish there was a way to skip dialogue though. It gets very repetitive and annoying to go through the same dialogue a million times.

Best One Yet!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a huge Animal Crossing fan from the original Gamecube version. I didn't play the other versions and the mobile game was not my fave, but this is perfect! Great to play on the go, good for wasting time, graphics are cute and crisp, and they've improved on everything this time around! Maybe it's due to the quarantine, but this is what I look forward to every day

Great game
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pre-ordered this and received it to my house from Best Buy the day of release even with everything going on. I have played the previous games and I have to say this has to be the best one so far. You get so much freedom to customize your island compared to previous games and the graphics are great. The free updates always add fun new things so you're never bored.

Really fun, relaxing, and addicting game
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been enjoying this game and find myself sinking an hour or 2 a day. It's definitely not perfect and right off the bat I'll say the game's biggest fault is tedious elements, however it's still a great experience and a game to sit down and relax to. To get the nitty-gritty out of the way I'll start with the problems. With the addition of new tools to help traverse your island came a common fault Nintendo is pretty reputable for: pushing them. Making your main motive of navigating the rest of your island by utilizing the vaulting pole and ladder just makes going around the island painstakingly annoying having to constantly put away your net just to get to another 'panel' of your island. Luckily as you progress you get to shape your island to iron this out, but it doesn't make for a welcoming experience into the game. As with adding the new tool, adding a crafting system was another thing Nintendo pushed a bit too much with introducing to the series for the first time where your tools break. It adds another unnecessarily tedious process to doing the things you play Animal Crossing for as you never know when your tool will break; if you don't have a DIY Bench in your inventory or nearby with the right materials (albeit you more than likely will have them) you're making a trip down the mountain and across the river just to get your net back and imagine encountering a new bug on the way that you won't be able to try to catch and will despawn the before you get back. These things just drag out the enjoyment of interacting with your world and really ends up getting tedious after your tools break 3-4 times. The other main fault of the game is the daily cap on the things you can do. While you can keep fishing for fish and catching bugs when all you're getting is the same things, it becomes disheartening and dull (and annoying everytime your rod or net breaks.) Other than that, knocking materials out of rocks and trees (with money out of rocks) and shaking the fruits out of all the trees then going to flip your loot for money is about it. You can talk to the villagers, but they don't offer you things to do as they did in previous games; no running errands tasks or "lets swap items" so once you flip your gains or donate your new discoveries to the museum you might as well just finish playing the game for the day. With that capping progress to where you're basically only progressing day-by-day just drags out the progress unnecessarily as things like the museum and shop are available at the get-go in the traditional game leading to a VERY slow start when you first start playing. I would say these problems are more prevalent to a veteran player of the series than a newcomer though. These problems I listed may kinda make playing the game feel like a drag and this review may be seeming contradictory to it's rating and title, however what I can say about fault I've listed is that admittedly, they're minor. These things make the game a bit more tedious or repetitive, but only in a minor way. Fishing and catching bugs albeit the same catches is just so addicting and satisfying to do. You just keep doing it and without realizing how much time you've lost to just doing that. The game's about relaxing and just doing something simple and easy and that's what that all is. You aren't stressing yourself on getting the best things; if they come to you, you feel gracious and happy but in the meantime just to be doing something is where the enjoyment comes from. Animal Crossing doesn't need to be anything extraordinary or overly rewarding as admittedly that approach makes for a more stressful experience in a game. If you're looking to just interact with a world in a game and relax, go at a slow pace, and just do things as they come this is for you...for anyone. Animal Crossing New Horizon is a nice break from the games that push your skills and make it to where you have some triumphant feat to accomplish. Sometimes you just need an experience to where you can take your time, not fret; the music articulates this goal of calming you with the soft tone it plays as you walk around. As the title of this states, the game is relaxing, addicting, and fun. It's one where you just enjoy yourself and nothing more. I highly recommend this game for anyone as we all need a little bit of relaxation among the stress we come across in our lives.

Animal Crossing on Nintendo Switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking for a game to keep me engaged and to get creative with and this did it for me. It’s a great adventure/lifestyle game and you get to make it yours and be creative with it. The lady at the cashier was very warm and receptive. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a simple and adventurous game.

Fun Game
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun game for everyone! Very creative and can be challenging so it provides hours of entertainment and enjoyment. Love seeing former characters and villagers from previous Animal Crossing games! I also think that earning bells, planting flowers/trees, catching bugs and shooting down balloons is easier in this new version.

A Social Distancing Must-Have
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, this was the first AC game I've ever played, but this has exceeded any expectations I had. Compared to the more-involved, combat-intensive games I've played, Animal Crossing New Horizons is a breath of fresh air, allowing me to enjoy a simple island life. Lots of options to be creative, and plenty of fun NPCs to meet and talk to. Great for all ages!

Amazing but with some minor drawbacks
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those of you new to AC just go ahead and pick up this game. It is amazing and Animal Crossing is such a good comfy simulation game. All the feels and wholesomeness! You can skip the rest of this review as it will be geared toward AC veterans. AC veterans... this game is about on par with NL in my opinion... Graphical updates are wonderful for sure and don't get me wrong I love the game but they also seemed to have removed A LOT of things we loved from NL. They also changed quite a few mechanics in the game, and not in a good way. Some of them are just... weird and we're all not sure how things work anymore. Swimming/diving is no longer in the game (I loved it so big point loss from me.) Fish and bug catching is easier... all the 'rare' fish/bugs are no longer super rare... I caught 3 coelacanths in a 2 hour span one day... and similar things with other bugs/fish... sooo that challenge has been removed... it doesn't feel as rewarding.. fossils spawn up to 6-8 a day not sure. Its just not a huge challenge to collect anymore. The crafting/customization is super cool but poorly implemented. You either have to carry mats with you all the time which take up 2-6 slots depending on what you need, OR you have to pull them in and out of storage. Also you can't craft in your house and auto use mats from storage, which is super annoying. You can do this with your clothes closet from storage though so idk why they can't do it with crafting. You also can't multi-craft and have to watch the animation EVERY TIME. There are instances where you will want to multi-craft and it gets soo tedious. The other complaint I have with crafting is you have to get DIY recipes before you can craft certain items. This works similar too the publics works projects gathering.. animals, balloons, messages in bottles give you the recipes.. and there are A LOT. You can buy a small handful from the shop... but for the most part... this is going to be a pain in the butt to get DIY recipes. If you have friends who can make stuff for you its not as bad but still annoying. Speaking of crafting... you have to craft ALL of your tools. Eventually you can buy them but it takes a bit unless you time travel(more on that later). Even golden tools break! Gold is super rare to get from rocks too. The tool breaking mechanic is honestly the biggest downfall of this game in every way for me. I hate it. I hated it in BOTW too. This is BOTW, but AC style. Golden tools should NOT break. Time travel is still a thing, and works about the same except you can't go farm holidays/events because they are locked behind timed updates... I'm on the fence about this. I get why but I also don't like it for those of us who are grown up now and can't play ALL the time and holidays are usually busy.. I personally am a time traveler (get over it gate keepers). Here's the positives: the customization is endless! This is where the focus of the game is honestly and probably why the rest seems lacking so its a double edged sword. The island, your house, your clothes, everything is customizable in some way. So many colors and styles to choose from for the clothes! The terraforming on the island is soooo cool! I love it! It does take some time as its like one square area at a time (like digging holes). I can't wait to see all the creative things people will do with this option! There's plenty of videos about this I won't go into detail. I will say this is probably the biggest game changer though. The DIY recipes are really neat! I'm working on collecting cherry blossom themed stuff right now! There's seasonal DIYs plus normal things. I can't wait to find them all! Resources at first are hard to come by but soon you unlock mystery tours with nook miles tickets and resources are abundant. I was worried about this at first but its not been a problem minus the first shop upgrade unless you TT. Overall I still love this game and highly recommend it. There are huge quality of life upgrades but there's also a few drawbacks. I didn't want to spoil much here so I didn't got into full details but I listed my major complaints. The swimming being gone is a big sad face from me. If they improve crafting over the coming updates I would give this 5 stars though.

||Posted . I really enjoyed all the features the game had to offer, whether it came from crafting tools, customizing your character's avatar, able to netplay with friends ect. Good game
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disclaimer: at the time of purchase, Best Buy included extra incentives for purchasing the game through them. Game itself is in my top two most-played titles on my Switch, but it's even better if you have someone to play with, since only a certain selection/varieties of items will be available to you whether as your native fruit or the stock you can find in your island shops. Has its pros and cons compared to the previous Animal Crossing title, New Leaf, with New Horizons having greater customization on your island map and not having your villagers move out on you if you ever take more than a few days' break from the game, but New Leaf having various gameplay elements still lacking in New Horizons such as co-op minigames on Tortimer island, Brewster, or more varieties of fruits. Having multiple people visit can be clunky since the game has you sit through loading screens with each person who leaves or visits, and you can't progress or get much done on the island while there are visitors in the way of decoration, construction, or donating things to the museum.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love everything about this game. It's an awesome family friendly game and a great way to connect with others. Playing together from 3 different states so far. Will always be suckered into owning this brand of game system because of amazing family friendly games like these. Just wished the systems themself didn't break down so tragically and quickly.

All they Hype
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very Popular kids game, just like Minecraft. These games are meant for kids to 'create' their own imaginary world. At a young age, they can use their imagination and have their very own Nirvana and they have control over everything. These games are shaping the creativity of kids. So far, my 10 yr old loves it. Keeps her busy and she is happy.
