Must-have game for the creative type
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is so satisfying and unique. As someone who loves being creative and feeling like I'm making an impact, I love this idea of building an island. You can do what you want and your love for the villagers and the island pushes you to finish projects and interact with everything in this very cute game.

Animal Crossing is too cute, so charming, a WIN.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since the first day I started playing Animal Crossing, I haven't missed a day since. Whether or not you view that as a positive, ha, that's what you're in for. The game gets you hooked. It's such a charming game, and very relaxing to play. The hours seem to breeze by when I get into play time. I'm kinda in old lady territory and really enjoy the zone it puts me in. I could also see young kids playing it, and just running around the island all day. You can literally just roam around, look at the water, collect seashells by the seashore, and the game would allow you to do that. There's no time limits to accomplish anything, you can just go at your own pace. The goal is ultimately to build things, progress, bring new friends to the island, among all sort of other activities, but you can definitely control your experience. This is literally the only game I play. So if you're buying it, don't go crazy buying other titles, they could just sit around and collect dust.

Too much fun
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everyone in our house has their own copy of this game. It’s THAT fun. My kids play nonstop for hours on end and have built some of the most exotic, hilarious and complex homes imaginable. They constantly play online with friends and family. The characters and gameplay are both cute and harmless as far as I can see. You may have heard that certain countries banned the game due to “offensive content”. The ban is more about government oppression of free speech than actual offensive content. There is nothing remotely offensive about this game, unless you find talking cartoon animals offensive. And the language they speak is gibberish, like the Sims. As an online game, safety should be strictly observed and enforced with younger players. The game itself is harmless but the same doesn’t apply to all online players. I’ve never played AC myself, only observed. But if my kids are any indicator, I can assure other parents who are on the fence about whether or not to purchase this game; go ahead! You won’t regret it.

Give Tom Nook All Your Bells!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know why you are bothering to read this. If you are even considering the game, just get it! This isn't going to be the game with the best graphics out there. This isn't the game that's going to be overly competitive. However, this is going to be the game that you begin playing, will play non stop for weeks, and then continue to play every single day after, even if it's for 30 minutes just to collect your fossils, bury as money tree, and see who visited your island that day. I have actually bought 3 copies of this game, one for me, one for my wife, and one for a close friend and we have played it more than any of us care to admit. My wife having played it every single day since getting it back when it first released. It is perfect for any age and you don't have to follow any story line. I know of a few people who literally play just to fish. The seasonal updates and frequent bug fixes and feature add-ons are just another bonus. So stop stalling, get it!

One of the best games I've ever played
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely adore the Animal Crossing franchise, and NH is a great addition. There are still several things I wish they would have made possible in this game, like more item interaction (I just want to be able to sit in my fancy whirlpool tub and drink a vacation juice okay), separate game and music controls (you should be able to mute the background music as it can be a little much at times), and 360 viewing when outside, or at least greater side-to-side viewing. Overall, though, I cannot complain as they have given us a wonderful game to play during these times. If you need an escape from this hellscape world, buy this game. The characters are very cute and terraforming is quite fun. Seriously, I want to be able to terraform like five other islands now because I don't want to mess up my island any more. Really considering getting a second copy that I can just go wild on. Sure, it is probably brainwashing the younger ones to be good, greedy little capitalists with a questionable moral compass, but I can't help that I love it.

Good for fans of Animal Crossing and Newbs
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are no bad words to say about Animal Crossing. This is a great game for kids and adults. Young kids may need a little help at first but once they get the basics I think the little ones will be good to go. Fans or not of previous Animal Crossing games will love this new version.

Nintendo delivers once again
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this game so much, I purchased two more copies for family members. If you're into relaxing life-sim games, you have to give this game a shot. I was previously a big fan of games like Stardew Valley, but had never played an Animal Crossing game. Well, AC is the best I've ever played in the genre. It is relaxing, clever, charming and incredible in scope. There's just an insane amount of content, which was my main complaint about Stardew Valley. You can really personalize how you want to play the game, rather than the game controlling when/where/why/how you play. It gives you a lot of freedom while still giving you plenty of objectives and things to do. I also like that you're never really punished. You might get stung by wasps or attacked by a tarantula, but there are no major disruptions to gameplay from either of those events. All-in-all, if you like games where you get to build things or manage resources to achieve goals, you can't do much than Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It's the perfect slice of sanity in very strange times!

A Great Way To Relax!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most games get you stressed out with missions and time trials, but you call the shots in Animal Crossing. Design your house, collect bugs, go fishing, meet your neighbors! What seems like a simple game starts to show how deep and gratifying it is the more you delve into everything that you can do!

A relaxing hobby
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Animal Crossing is a unique game which leaves many newcomers wondering what exactly you do in it or what the appeal is, so to explain that, in Animal Crossing you live in a village of animals where time flows with real-life time. There are a number of things you can do: talk to your neighbors, garden, catch fish, catch bugs, dig fossils.... How you spend your time is up to you, though at the start, the game will have you do specific things so you can learn how things work. You can earn money for literally anything you collect, and with that money you can buy clothes, furniture, or pay off your interest-free home loan to get a bigger house (you can also ignore the loan if you want). There is a museum you can donate creatures and fossils to, and many people try to find every possible creature and donate it. Anyway, that's what you do. It's not necessarily to everyone's taste, but if any of that sounds fun, you will love this game with its charming graphics, lovely music and vast series of tasks you can complete.

Fun for the entire family
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is fun and very immersive. There are countless items to craft and collect. Everyone in the house can participate and have their own house and share items. The only downside is everyone is vying for a turn to play. We have played this many hours, especially right now. Highly recommend.

Animal Crossing Practically Meditative Experience
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Man, I love this game. As a rule I don't usually give a hoot about video games, I mean I haven't had a console since the eighties, no joke. This, however, is too much fun as most of the planet already knows. It's helped me get through the pandemic, it chills me out when I'm stressed, I am still having fun on it even after having it for months and months. I highly recommend it if you have been one of the rare folks on the fence about it. I genuinely can't stand most games and I absolutely love this one, so if you want something to relax by and have a good time while designing and decorating your space, this is for you. I can even play it with my young kid, who also has a great time on it, and it gives us yet another common interest to bond over. Can't like it enough. Would like to have changing variety of items to redeem with miles, though, but that's beside the point.

Paced Nostalgia
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, this game has kept me playing, though not binging as I have been in the past with the series. Real time really forces you to enjoy and play the game rather than time skip and complete your collections in a week. Other than that, beautiful game that pairs well with a busy adult life.

Perfect Quarantine Game
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The latest Animal Crossing game came at the perfect time. With millions of people trapped at home, what better than a game where you travel to your own private island and mingle with anthropomorphic creatures while you decorate your home, go fishing, catch bugs, and otherwise lounge around? If you share a Switch with family members, you can even play couch co-op with up to four players. The only downside is each person playing on the same console does not get their own island, they only share one, and only the "main" player can make progress. But it does have online eight player capability and the design tool you are given for patterns is very robust. Keep in mind, this is not the kind of game that you just waltz in and "beat", it's meant to be played in short bursts. There's no end goal, really (unless you count paying off debts, adding new facilities to the island). It's a social simulation type game where you chat up locals and just do your own thing. Just what the doctor ordered to pass the time.

Animal Crossing at its best
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can’t you do in this game? Fully customizable house, exterior and eventually the whole island! The phone feature makes gameplay much more streamlined and fits very naturally into the game. There are a few gripes like one island per console but that doesn’t take away from how great it is!!

This solved my mid-life gamer crisis
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is honestly something of a wicked experience. I have always played action-adventure rpg games and have been a fan of games that release cyclicly every year that include Pokemon, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Mario, etc. I've been playing games all my life and I kind of got bored playing the same game with the same mechanics all over again with different gimmicks. I'm happy to say that this game has proudly got me back into my long-time favorite hobby and reminded me why I love video games so much. It is so different and unique from everything I've personally played. Now I'm sure there are other games with a similar format, and I was hesitant on trying something new that I would probably end up not playing. From all the unique things you can do and the world/character development, I'm glad I gave this a shot and most of all this game has made me believe that I should keep an open mind and try out new things to play.
