I think by now everyone has heard of Animal Crossing. No game could have come at a better time than AC with the quarantine/shelter-in-place brought about by covid-19. This game is an escape. Do menial chores on a quiet island, go crazy with designing a themed island, or any mix in between, this game allows you to play at your own pace and engage in a variety of systems covering collecting, earning money (bells in game), or welcoming new non-player characters to your personal map (or even playing with other player characters if you choose to do so). I have already sunk at least 100 hours in and am starting to hit end game content, but I know several friends who have put in way more than that and countless players worldwide doing the same.

My kid said they got bored with the WII animal crossing but this one for the switch is much more fun. There is a lot more things to do on this platform. You can create your own stories and be really creative.

This game is just as fun and addicting as everyone said it would be. The premise of the game is not very complicated, build your own island paradise from the ground up, but the game is not so simple either. There is so much for you to do once you are on the island, from starting out by picking wear to place your tent to picking your roof color to working on an ever growing list of DIY projects. The island is set in real time as well, and that can affect the way the game is played. If you are the kind of person who hates finishing a game in a week and then having nothing else to do, then this is the game for you. You play it in real time, so most things don't happen in a blink of an eye. This is a game made for long lasting fun.

Great game. People are trying to tank the reviews because you are limited to one island. It's not that serious. You can all live on one island which is actually a lot of fun. Ignore these people and go get the game

Every bit as charming as it is addictive. I have enjoyed this game massively during the pandemic. There is always so much to do, and the ease of online functionalities makes socializing with others a joy rather than a must chore. With so many possible neighbors to move in, events that add new aesthetics, building your island how you want and filling it with what you want will make you realize how much there is to do in this game. My one complaint is that a few of the old villagers didn't come back, and there are only 8 new villagers to meet, however if this is your first or maybe 2nd only entry into the series, they will all new to you, or a lot of them will be, so hopefully that won't be an issue for you.

First, shout out to BB for delivery on time. Now to the game, I only did the "checking in", got peach main island fruit the first time. I still have not decide if I want to reset and get other fruits ( not apple thou ) or just be happy with Peach. Game itself is pretty ( if I compare to ACNL ) Well done Nintendo. Onto the bell bag. I am glad I did the bundle, to be honest, it's not worth the stand alone price, it's really small. But if you consider it as a collection and willing to pay $20 for just the bag, then go ahead. But I feel the bundle discounted bag price is more reasonable than the stand alone, cos it's nothing special other than you can't buy it anywhere else. I do recommend the game even if you have not play ACNL before.

My spouse and I adore this game. Him 34 y.o. myself 40 Y.o. -- we just started this game about a week ago . our social circle -- also professional adults -- play this game daily! by adding friends near or far feel free to visit their island(s). Dodo airlines is the best and funniest thing. Considering --dodo birds are flightless birds we got a real giggle from that. This is a real time game. Shops close at a certain time, buildings take construction dates and time, seeking knowledge to build an item requires seeking the literature necessary to build such item. We love it & it's an awesome brain teaser and awesome family bonding and strategy technique skill builder.

I bought Animal Crossing in April of 2020. I started the game, but I only got as far as choosing my island and that was pretty much it. I put it on the shelf and it sat there until 3 weeks ago. My wife started playing it when we were driving to our vacation destination. When we came back home from vacation, I watched my wife play the game. It was then that I realized that you can only have one island per switch. I have a switch lite, so I went to Best Buy to purchase a second copy of Animal Crossing. It was on sale when I purchased the 2nd copy so I was happy about that. We have been having a blast playing and visiting each others islands.

This is a great addition to the animal crossing series with new additions that makes this game even more addicting than the series already was. There are no longer daily tasks that are one and done. Instead the tasks are unlimited, once you complete one of five, another appears. There are new creatures not seen in the series before, too, along with new ways to explore that are always randomized. Overall its a great experience for all ages.

I have never played animal crossing before and I purchased this partially due to the hype and partially due to my love of MySims DS. The mechanics can be mildly frustrating at times but once you get the hang of it and unlock different tools it plays well. I’ve already logged over 100 hours (when I should have been studying for my classes). The main downside for me is not being able to transfer save data to a new console since my ACNH Switch got here a couple weeks after my game. I had to restart altogether. The one island per console thing sucks but I loved it so much that I bought my girlfriend a switch and the game so we could play together. Not that it is practical for most people. The multiplayer is sorta playable.

    Shades of (Relaxing) Pandemic Life

I love this game, but it holds the title of being the pandemic game to me. At the time, we couldn't go to the store without fear of getting sick. Couldn't go to the movies. Couldn't go anywhere. We turned to games and if you were lucky enough - you got this game right before everything started to close down. I'll be honest, I haven't played this game since those times. I feel like I'll get flashbacks, but the real reason I haven't played it since then - I got bored. Don't get me wrong, still a game and definitely worth the price. If you have little ones, this is a great distraction game. The game play is simple and enjoyable by all ages. Being a middle aged man, I enjoyed it every weekend for about 2 months before I pretty much stopped playing it all together. There is no challenging game play here and the play seems to crawl to a snails pace at times. Characters are fun to interact with and the support from Nintendo on this game makes it well worth the buy. My only make a break complaint on this game? Main gameplay has to be tied to 1 account. Meaning if your kid starts an island up, your character's progression is tied to how far they can get. You'll find yourself playing as your kid's (or significant other's) character just to progress through the story and unlock everything in the core game. If you want a good relaxing game - get this. You won't be disappointed!

Best Family Gift I’ve ever bought

We bought as gift for the grandkids, but it’s become an addictive family game and costing nights of lost sleep! Mom & Dad (37 & 44) play w kids 11, 7 & 4 — and the n’hood tweens come over to play! It captures everyone & the competition goes on with who has the best house, who has more stuff, who scored the most — & these are just the conversations in the car, after school or at dinner w the game turned off! I’ve never given anything that captured THIS much of Family time! We bought 2 more pro controllers (better for the 10 & olders). This game has so many levels & ways and to compete that it does not grow old. They have 3 games & this vm is their fav, hands down.

Animal Crossing is what's known as a Sandbox game. Meaning you do what you want at your own pace. You can tend to your island, collect furniture to deck out your house, collect bugs/fish/fossils and a whole lot more. The scenery and activities you can do change daily with even more drastic changes coming each month, so there's always going to be something for you to discover. You can even sink hours into making designs to personalize your house, island, or clothes. There is just so much to do in this game. It's slow paced and fun. Just a high quality title by Nintendo. There's a reason this game is a smash hit. You will not be disappointment picking this up. People of any age or skill level will be able to enjoy it.
