This is my first animal crossing game and I'm obsessed. It's very relaxing, yet tons of fun, and it's been played every day so far since release. The only flaw I've come across so far is the approach to multiple users and co-op play. Most people are aware that the premise of this game is that you move to a deserted island and make it your home. A drawback for a lot of people is that there is only ONE island per Nintendo Switch. This means if you have several people who want to play the game on the same system, they will all live on the same island. I was aware of this going in, and was fine with it. My girlfriend and I have been creating and living on pur island together and it's great. However, not all island residents seem to be created equal. The first user who boots up the game and creates a character gets the title of "Resident Representative". This person carries most of the authority for the progression of the island. Only they will be able to take tasks, place new buildings, and choose where to put things like bridges and ramps. For my situation, this hasn't been a big issue as my girlfriend and I play and make the decisions together, it's just that she needs to be the one to put those decisions in place. It leaves my character feeling like just another resident, a little less important to the island. So, naturally, one would start to want their own island, one where they have the main authority over everything. And then you remember that's impossible. One island per Switch. That's the rule, and it doesn't seem likely to change. So let's say one day my girlfriend gets her own Switch and wants her own island too. Then I could have my own island on my Switch too, but it would have to be at the cost of deleting our joint island, which we've both grown attached to already. The game is thoroughly enjoyable, but I think people should be aware of potential problems when it comes to multiple island residents and save files.

These games were never on my radar, I play shooters and rpg's mainly like the Witcher and the like. My wife got into and convinced me to try it. I am loving it so far and initially wrote it off as something I wouldn't like. If you enjoy games such the Sims, pokemon, and games such as minecraft or terraria that require collecting, tons of loot and crafting you will enjoy this. While there is no true combat other than the occassional wasp nest or turantula, there is a ton of customization and charm. For me, I listen to a podcast in my headphones and play this with sound off as a way to unwind and relax before bed. It is very open-ended and lets you to play the way you want. For me I love the farming and gardening as well as the collecting of rare bugs, my wife loves the decorating and customizations aspect.

This game is amazing! I love how entertaining it is to go fishing, collect fruit, catch bugs, interact with adorable fellow islanders, and design your entire island. I am not a huge gamer, but I find myself playing hours on this game.

A LOT pf people were hyping this game up, so of course I fell for the peer pressure and bought it too. Its a good game for passing time, easy to get lost in game itself, and all of a sudden your alarm clock is going off and its time to get up for work. Parents beware, your kids will likely be up all night playing it, and be cranky when you wake them up for school. Or your boss will get mad at YOU for not making it to work on time. Dont say I didnt warn you! But if youre willing to risk the potential financial burden of losing your job because youre dedicating all of your time to this game, i highly recommend it. High risk, high reward.

I've been a long time fan of animal crossing and have played all of the previous entries, but new horizons keeps it fresh. Plenty of new features have been added in, like having more control than ever over decorating the outside of your island, new characters and events, and being able to craft items. The graphics and sounds are beyond detailed and charming, there's so much to enjoy. The game is relaxing and with so many activities and items to unlock, anyone can truly move at their own pace. The only real issues I have are with the online multi player feeling tedious with all of the ridiculous loading screens.

Fun, Relaxing Game - Good for all ages

Animal Crossing has always been a fun relaxing game where you can escape reality and create your own space. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons there are plenty of quality of life upgrades but it still has the same feel. Some are trying to rush the game given the current circumstances, but it is a game that is not meant to be rushed. Patience is a big part of this game, so it might not be for everyone. Also, some may see the daily grind as busy work. However, for me ACNH is very relaxing and the hard work pays off in creating a really cool island. I'm one of those people that really enjoys checking off boxes, so this game is my cup of tea. I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for something very low-key, but if you are looking for something action packed, I would look elsewhere.

The sales and popularity of this franchise speak for themselves. It is of high esteem and high quality in every aapect all the way down to little details. Prepare to be addicted for hundreds of hours with no real end in sight. The whole game is played on a real time clock with a day and night cycle. As seasons change in the real world and in game, so do things to do such as catching different seasonal bugs, fish, and sea creatures. There are also events released all throughout the year to help freshen up each month that passes. It's a game that keeps on giving with a library of content that keeps on affirming it's value. This is a no-brainer must buy for anybody who owns a Nintendo Switch. You're missing out if you don't add it to your collection of greats.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was/is heralded as one of, if not, the best game to play during this 2020 global pandemic. I can definitely see why/ the mass appeal. It's very simplistic in nature, but, at the same time, very involved, engaging, addicting, and oddly relaxing. Get ready to invest lots of time in this game, especially, if you're the type of gamer who likes to complete/collect everything. Adults will appreciate and/or shake their heads at all the puns/dad jokes, while kids will learn all the game's equivalent of real-life money management (buying/selling goods), building/crafting/customizing, and the stock market (in the form of turnips). All in all, think Sim City + The Sims + Minecraft on a deserted tropical island. Enjoy, everyone.

I love this game. It is so cute and wholesome and villagers sometimes make me laugh out loud. Today (May 1st) is my birthday and the villagers that I've made friends with ACTUALLY THREW ME A BIRTHDAY PARTY! With gifts and everything. I've played the previous games in this series so I understand the mechanics better than someone who hasn't. For example, to avoid getting stung by the wasps, have your net ready then try to catch them. Also you can use their nest to create medicine if you do get stung. I would recommend that if you've never played any games in this series that you watch some YouTube videos to help you.

This is a great casual game for everyone in the family to enjoy. If you are new or old to this franchise, or have never picked up a video game until this Corona outbreak. Sit back relax and enjoy an laid back island adventure. In this game ure character is chosen as the island representative that means you get to choose where everything goes on the island. This is not a fast paced game, the same day, date, and time as the real world is also happening in your game. You turn on the game in the morning its morning in game, in the afternoon same, night same. The game also rewards you for slightly different experience in morning, noon, or night game play, with only certain fish, or bugs that come out at those times. Have, fun, explore, fish, catch bugs, plant flowers and trees.
