A massive time sink. Very fun to visit other island and also build yours. It does get a bit boring after awhile since you constantly do the same thing over and over but still fun to be had.

So here’s the thing: I used to love AC. But things changed with this game and here’s what I don’t like: - It’s one island per console. Not per character. - Multiplayer isn’t fun for additional players who don’t credit for what they do when playing together. - Everything costs, a LOT, but Nintendo has increasingly making it more difficult to earn a lot of bells. (Some furniture prices cost more than 200,000 bells but unless you play 24/7, it can take days to earn that amount). - Finishing sets is actually impossible because of the way the shops are set up (2 furniture items a day and when it builds up, it goes to three) and with items having a ton of color combos, it’s basically impossible to finish one set. - Gold tools break and gold ore is almost impossible to find to replace them. - You’re supposed to make your own stuff but you only get 3 recipes per day and there’s no way to control what you get. - You can make furniture but selling them usually nets you less than 100 bells per item. Yes, I’m serious. - You can’t actually terraform the whole island—you are limited to terraform only certain aspects (cliffs and rivers). - They reduced the money you can get in interest from .5% to .05%. This should have been a fun relaxing game, not unlike Minecraft meets AC, to enjoy during COVID. It did not meet those expectations. This game series used to be relaxing and fun. It no longer is. I will not be purchasing any additional games or any DLC for this one.
