The game is really good. The only reason I gave it a four star is because of the camera angle. All in all it's a really good game.

A redditor said it better than I so here's the post: I'm actually pretty insulted with this game. The amount of content that is missing in New Horizons is absolutely inexcusable. My biggest beef is that they replaced a lot of the mechanics that gave the game it's flair with basic mechanics that totally oversimplify the gameplay, completing obliterating the atmosphere of the game. For those of you that have never played an AC game before, here's a list of things that were in previous games: • Katrina the fortune telling cat. She would tell your fortune, but there was also an entire concept of luck. The amount of fortunate events would happen based on your luck that day. And feng shui. • Your villagers would start rumors about you based on your playing habits. So if you consistently time travelled, they would start to spread rumors to other villagers that you are from another time. This concept was different than just "Oh boy looks like you were hitting rocks the other day!" observations the villagers give you now. • Multiple upgrades to Nook's shop. In previous games, there were multiple floors of his shop and I think like 4 upgrades? And WAY more furniture available to buy at a time. • Instead of Mr. Resetti lecturing you for not saving, they totally nixed that alltogether. Now, Mr. Resetti does the rescue service. But it's hardly acknowledged it's even Mr. Resetti. And the rescue service is pretty worthless. And you never get to talk to him. Additionally, Don Resetti would come lecture his brother for getting too angry. And you could accidentally burst into the Reset Center and get prizes. • I AM SO MAD THEY GOT RID OF LYLE AND THE HAPPY HOME ACADEMY. Instead of being able to physically go to the HHA and talk to Lyle in person, he just sends you crappy letters. You don't even get to talk to him anymore. • Instead of being able to go to the Gracie Grace store, they replaced the entire concept with Labelle visiting. But Labelle is just a 1x a week thing (if even) where you do a simple quest and then you're done. I miss the seasonal overpriced furniture you could save up for and physically going to the store. • Shampoodle. You used to go to the salon and get your hair or makeup done by Harriet. It was an adorable part of the game. I understand the convenience of the mirror but it again destroys the gameplay and atmosphere. • Dr. Shrunk. Instead of animals randomly deciding to teach you the reactions, you would go to Dr. Shrunk's show and he would put on a play, in which at the end he would teach you the reaction. There was also a nightclub you could go dance at. • Brewster and the cafe. You used to be able to go to a cafe and talk to Brewster, who would make you a coffee. You could also do side quests and work a part time job by making coffee for the villagers. And sometimes other rare NPCs would show up and you could talk to them. • Minigames. In AC New Leaf, if you bought a Wii or a 3DS for your home, you could literally play minigames on it, that were actually pretty complex. • The island. Kapp'n would take you on a boat to an island run by his family where you could play minigames individually or in multiplayer mode. Like who can pop the most balloons, or dig up the most fossils, etc. Then you would earn medals and be able to buy mermaid and other rare furniture. But it actually made multiplayer worth it and gave you something to do instead of awkwardly standing around. • The villagers used to interact with you so much more! They would always be asking you to deliver items to another villager, or request you give them a bug or a fish, ask you to bury time capsules and would randomly ask you to unbury it and bring it back to them later, or have yard sales, or would schedule a time to come over and you'd show them around your house, or ask to play hide and seek. • Also their dialogue was actually interesting and not them just talking about licking bugs or how Magic Mike took their relationship off the rails or whatever. • More than 7 upgrades to your house. You could actually expand the size of the rooms and make them bigger. In New Leaf, I think there was 18 house upgrades you could buy. • Ability to change the exterior/shape of your house. You could make it look like a castle, or a mansion, etc. • Digby and the Happy Home Showcase. You would pass other players on the street and get to go into their houses and buy their furniture. • Town ordinances (you could enact a beauty ordinance that makes weeds appear less often, or an early morning ordinance that makes your players get up earlier) • The post office. This one really hurt. You could visit Pete, Pelly, and Phyllis (the nightworker, who was really aggressive to you omg). Instead, you just go to the dodo bird and buy postcards. So much of that dynamic is gone. • Changing the aesthetic of buildings. You could make the town center fit a fairytale, imperial, or modern theme. • The plaza tree that would grow and when you interacted with it, would show memories of your town's history. • Porter the monkey at the train station (although the dodo's replaced him for pretty much the same concept, so it's fine). • Copper and Booker and the police stations. They would guard the town and tell you what visitors are here or special events that are going on. They also had the lost and found. Their personalities were my favorite. This one also really hurt. • Phineas would come to your town and either give you medals or sometimes would show up and give you balloons. They replaced this with the nook miles but it's not the same as phineas arriving. • So. Much. Furniture. Is. Missing. It's insulting how much is gone. In ACNH, there's about only 21 furniture sets. In New Leaf, there's 54 furniture sets. This doesn't include single items that are not part of a furniture set. Seriously. • Fruit. This game is missing lemons, bananas, lychees, durians, mangos, and persimmons. There also used to be perfect fruit that you could grow that was a lot more valuable. • Reese and Cyrus at the Retail Second Hand Shop. You could also sell your furniture to other players and villagers. • Creating constellations with Celeste! Although I think that's been missing since City Folk. • Gyroids. You could dig them up out of the ground and they would dance or add beats to the music you played. • Wendell! • Tortimer • Rover (besides the one time he showed up on May Day. Lame). • Amiibo and all the extra things you could get from them. The amount of content missing in this game is insulting. And it's not like they've replaced it with better stuff, it's just completely gone or an oversimplified mechanic. And a lot of the features and characters listed above have been in Animal Crossing since the game cube. But they're going to be releasing updates for the next three years. Yeah, that's fine and all. But omg, do I seriously have to wait 3 years for content that may or may not come that was included in every other game originally?!? I love the updates, and the Mario stuff is cute. However, based upon how much content is flat out missing from this game, I find it incredibly insulting to get this tiny Mario update when most of the gameplay is just completely gone and I'm waiting to see if they're even going to bother.
