No Switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered a Nintendo switch before I ordered the game. I still haven’t received my switch so I can’t play the game. Customer service told me they’re waiting on new stock. What I’m hearing is they sold me an item they don’t have, even though the csr agent told me there was one in stock.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking for a game to keep me engaged and to get creative with and this did it for me. It’s a great adventure/lifestyle game and you get to make it yours and be creative with it. The lady at the cashier was very warm and receptive. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a simple and adventurous game.

Relaxing, charming, and endlessly enjoyable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Animal Crossing: New Horizons is incredibly relaxing and charming. It’s the kind of game you can pick up for a few minutes or play for hours. Building and customizing your island is very satisfying, and the game encourages creativity at your own pace. The characters are lovable, the music is calming, and the seasonal events keep things interesting over time. This is a perfect game for unwinding and escaping stress.

Definitely a fun, low effort kind of game.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Animal crossing New horizons is a really fun game, easy game with lots you can do. It's calming, and entertaining, great to play after you had a hard day at work/school, or you are looking for a way to escape being bored for a few hours. I like the way that you can pick the layout of the island, to what villagers you have inhabit it as well. The music is calming, (what's also cute is that sometimes if you have a mic on your island, your villagers will sing too!) and it's definitely fun to make your island into different themes. It's in game time matches the local time, and depending on the time of day, you can find cool fish/bugs to add to your museum/ or personal collection. ( don't worry, you can always change your switch time to get different seasons/time of day and it doesn't do anything bad so long as you save before hand and after. Just make sure you change it back to original switch time when you're done!) To do online play you must get the Nintendo + subscription. but that is not required if you do not plan to bring friends to your island. Overall this game is fun, it can even be addicting. I definitely recommend this game. It's not bad for kids either!

Best Game Ever
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My absolute favorite game. I'm going on my late 20's and I still play this game. Very entertaining. Even after you beat the game, there is so much to do. It continues to go on and on. I love to check the clothes shop and Nook store daily to ensure I get all the new items that I do not own yet. Truly is a forever game that I will never get tired of.

Great game from Worst Buy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun game. I played it back on the day on SNES. They did a good job. I'm really here to complain about beat buy. They stole the gamers club from us. Then they gave us total tech. Then they stole that from us. They constantly take away from their offerings. Even the replacement plans through total membership suck now. I used to be able to bring a product back no questions asked and get it swapped out. Now they hit you with a free every time. Best buy can suck it. They also keep dangling 400 bucks for a review that they never pay out on.

Engaging Nintendo Handheld Game for All Ages
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm relaying my observations of my family playing this game... We originally bought this game during the pandemic of 2020 at the recommendation of my kids, who was a fan of the Nintendo DS version. This game has probably been in play a combined 600hrs+ between all my family members. The mellow vibe, cute graphics, and wholesome character interactions make it a game that you don't worry about letting young kids play. Like other Nintendo games though, alot of the character interactions are via text so the player will have to read quite a bit. Essentially the game is just to develop your property and develop your character. The laid back pace was perfect when being locked down so it might make for a better play in the winter months or poor weather days where you are stuck indoors. Once we were outside again, the game stopped getting as much play as when it was bought- but recently my family has picked it up again and uses it almost as a way to relax and wind down for the day. One con you may find is that households with more than one player will have to work together and share an island to develop. There doesn't seem to be separate game saves where Kid#1 can play and develop independently of Kid#2. The only way to achieve this is to each have their own Nintendo Switch. And if you do have multiple devices in the house, you will also need multiple copies of the game if you want to play at the same time. Very "money-grabby". One last observation- I dont know how spectator-friendly this game is. I have three Animal Crossing players in my house and I have never seen the game projected onto a TV. This game seems to be very much a personal, single-player experience and lends itself well to the handheld nature of the Switch. That being said- I'll often times see Kid#1 hanging over Mom#1's shoulders as she plays- supervising where to plant flowers on her island. So maybe the best way to describe this game is not as a game, but rather as its own unique experience.

Great for Beginners and Seasoned Players
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been playing the Animal Crossing series for about a decade, and this is the first game I have ever pre-ordered. I wanted to play New Horizons for a while to get a more well-rounded opinion. The Pros: -Great concept with building items with DIY recipes. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I do like the cool things I can build. You can build an ocarina and play it! -Customization of your character. Previous games from the main series severely limited this. You now have a choice of choosing your skin tone, eye shape and color, nose, mouth, and hair style and color (these last 2 options are limited at first, but you can buy more). -The island is yours to create, and decorate it with the items you craft or buy. Your imagination is your friend for this. I love moving things around and planting trees and flowers. While I'm on flowers, there are a total of 8 main varieties of flowers (not counting lily of the valley). If you breed them right, you can have beautiful hybrids. -The various items you can make or buy are absolutely lovely. There's a whole catalog of furniture, clothes, and other items that gives you variety. You want a log cabin or mermaid room? Would you like to dress up like a superhero or a princess? The possibilities are there and plenty. -An improvement on the Able Sisters shop. You can upload your own designs or download designs from other players. It amazes me how talented people who play this game are. -I do love the relaxing vibe from the island. The music is good, but for those who have played New Leaf or other previous installments may be a tad disappointed in this area. -Visiting other islands can be fun, and seeing how they built their islands. I've seen simple forested islands and ones that look like something out of a traveling booklet. Also, you can build up your catalog by visiting their stores. -The introduction of Nook Miles. With this new form of currency, alongside the original Bells, you can buy certain items, including a Nook Mile Ticket. Where can you go with it? Mystery islands! These places are great for gathering resources. You will need a good amount of resources for the recipes, so having the mystery islands to get them is very helpful. -Meteor showers. This a personal event that I like. These occur at random, but when they happen, you get star fragments and a recipe from Celeste (a red owl for those who don't know hoo she is). The Cons: - Please note, Nintendo has a limit of 1 island per Switch. This was stated beforehand by Nintendo. Not a con for me personally, but may be for some of you. It does become a con for me because... - I am a secondary character, which means I'm not what they call the Island Representative. Why is this a con? Because, when it comes to building bridges, plots for neighbors, etc., you cannot do any of this. If you choose to buy the game and you plan to share an island with others, make sure the first person that plays will play often. I let my sister play first, making her the island representative. Luckily for me, she plays often, though not as much as myself. -DIYs can become annoying when you get the same recipe again. If a villager is crafting something you already know, there is no option to not learn it. They give you the recipe "to share". -Mystery islands are not really a mystery. Many of the islands you will travel will have your native fruit and flower there. However, at least you can get more wood and iron at those. -If you do not have friends that play the game, this may become a bit boring after a while. I don't have many friends to that play, but I have used Animal Crossing forums for this. However, do be careful if you decide to do this. Many players are very nice and helpful, but there are a few bad apples in the bunch. -As of yet, no cloud save data. We shall see when (hopefully) this will happen. Overall, it all depends on your situation. For me, I say that I adore Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I appreciate the developers, designers, and the rest of the staff at Nintendo for daring to try something different, and I would say that it worked. However, this may not be as enjoyable for those who share a Switch with multiple people. I know some people bought additional Switches to solve this, but that is now a huge problem since the Switch is out of stock everywhere. Luckily, Switch Lites are still available (for now, at least). I know some of you may not opt for that because you can't dock it to your TV. For everyone else, here's what I say. Like the idea of being in debt to a tanuki/raccoon in order to expand your house? Want to be neighbors with anthropomorphic animals that you may or may not like? Enjoy fishing but wish you would stop getting so many sea bass or black bass? Then, this game is for you!

Wow amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive tried getting into animal crossing as far as back as the nintendo wii but it just never clicked for me until new horizons. there's so much you can do in the game and its not a stressful game so you can play for hours stress free. No getting mad at the game its just a relaxing game. It's the only game I have spent 700 hours on and I'm still not bored of it! plus Nintendo keeps updating and adding more content to the game for free. Its impossible to finish the game. Which means you can play forever. This is the best looking animal crossing game ever. Its very fun playing with friends and family. The only bad thing is if you only have 1 switch in your house you have to share islands. Im so glad I bought this it was worth it!

Best Cozy Game.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you haven’t picked up New Horizons- you are missing out. Animal crossing has always been a relaxing, life-sim-like game, and new horizons capitalizes on everything its predecessors’ have done right. It’s charming music, characters, and island, paired with its music and gameplay loop are just delightful. This game excels when you put in work. The more work, the more you will see the fruit of your collecting, customization, fishing and kindness to your islanders! Nintendo has again made a must-have addition to your switch collection.

Excellent new version of a classic.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let’s just say right off the bat, Animal Crossing is NOT for everyone. AC is an extremely slow paced “life simulation” game. There is no action here, there is no running and gunning, there is no jumping on mushrooms, no fighting space aliens, none of that. So you NEED to understand that from the start. This game is about taking life slow. You move to a sparsely populated island where You live in a tent.. then by collecting bugs and fruit, fishing, Collecting wood, and other various tasks you earn money to pay off your tent. Then build a house, expand the house and repeat. Travel to other islands and get new fruit...grow new trees. Earn more money from the new fruit. Keep fishing until you Catch the rare fish. Bug collecting? Stop back late at night in hopes of findIn a tarantula or scorpion depending on what time of year it is in real life. Sell them for bells (money) or turn them in at the now open museum and build a collection. Maybe you can dig for fossils to take to the museum while your at it. Are you getting the picture yet? It’s a game of collecting, of finding rare items, or making money and spending money. It’s a slow paced, relaxing game session that you can play for 30-1hr a day and slowly build your digital life. It’s perfect for someone who wants a change of pace from other games, or wants to relax for a few minutes because that’s all the time the have. ONE FINAL WORD OF IMPORTANCE! Every profile on your switch shares 1 island. ( example. Myself, my wife, and my daughter all love on one island.). What one islander does can and does effect the rest. There is no way to change this setting. AS PART IF THIS the FIRST PERSON to play becomes the main person. There are things that the first person must do and things ONLY they can do. So unless you want to be logging into You child’s account to make important island changes( like I have to do since she started playing it first!). Make sure if you want control you start the island first THEN let them play. So there you have it....it’s not a game for everyone. But it’s one that is a breath of refreshing slow paced air in a world filled with high octane gaming most of the time.

Animal crossing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is a home designer simi that extends out to designing an entire island. Form trees, bushes, and rivers all the way to the homes that you and your villagers live in. It is slow to start but will be amazingly fun once you get moving.
