I normally prefer games with direct goals, like rpg's and adventure games, but Animal Crossing does a great job of giving the player goals to reach for while giving the player enough space to do their own thing. Really happy with it overall and it's great for pick-up and play, especially at the end of the day when I'm tired and ready to just chill on the couch with some tv on the background.

great game if you don't mind repetition

I did however stop playing it recently because the tasks just felt like daily chores. Doing the same thing day after day just to be able to afford a small change to your island started to annoy me. but I do see how people can get hooked on it.
