ACNH, best game from the series
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this game so much, but after Nintendo stopped allowing the use of sharing digital games through primary and secondary switches, me and my wife had to play one at a time, so I bought a physical copy, cause it was cheaper at the time, and now we can both play together again, and just visit each others towns via local play, instead of online all the time now. Great stuff!

Great game to play and relax!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am playing this game during quarantine and it’s been pretty fun and peaceful. It starts off a little slow, but once you get everything rolling there’s lots of things you can try to accomplish. On some tasks it requires you to wait till the next day, real time, in order for buildings or vice versa to be completed. Some people change the time on their Switch in order to skip the waiting time. I try to play in moderation so it’s a perfect game for me to stop and wait for everything to finish the next day. If you need a game where you can play at your own pace and relax, this is it!

The best game for quarantine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've played this game since its day one release and I got the preorder bonus tom nook badge to show for it. The game itself has a lot of content, an ocean of goods to collect and consistent updates. I've played it for over a year now and still log in from time time even though I've fully upgraded my house because of the monthly free updates. I feel like I've really gotten my value out of it. It doesn't feel like a chore like acnl did, and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to try a really cute and fun life simulator.

Great new addition to the franchise
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have played this game every day for 5 days straight. It is a great game for both those new to the series as well as seasoned veterans. The last time I played an AC game was back on the DS and this one blows it away. Just like in the rest of the games, the game time reflects the real world, so waiting until "tomorrow" can be painful, but that's part of the game. Tom Nook is a scoundrel just like characters in previous games, but the narrative is a lot of fun. Some people call it real life simulator, but it's so much more than that. I definitely recommend this game.

Awesome game!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game already took me back to Nintendo game cube times. Already I’m consumed by this game! There’s lots to do every time I start the game, so for sure never gonna be bored. That being collecting items, achieving goals, and traveling to new islands. And my favorite part is customizable items, and playing with friends has made it even better! There’s so much more thanks to updates via WiFi for example the current and first even is the bunny event. I’m exited to see what’s ahead in the game. And yes I definitely do recommend the game!

New world of Animal Crossing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a long-time fan of Animal Crossing, Nintendo adds such a fresh new experience with this one! For one, I like the quality of the graphics and animation (I think most of us can agree on this one, am I right?) And new stuff like the crafting, new tools, new plants, the character creator, choosing the layout of your island; are all nice new additions to this series. After playing New Leaf for so long, I was especially craving paths and more space for designs, but also just more to do. This couldn't have arrived at a more perfect time, because it is like a therapy. It's relaxing and cheerful for the most part (until you catch a sea bass for the millionth time, faint from a tarantula or get stung by wasps. Lol!) As always, the fishing, capturing bugs and digging for fossils have always been a satisfying experience. Especially giving them to Blathers, as he always has such interesting commentary on each donation. I was blown away by the upgrade on the museum, I won't spoil it for you but it is a VERY nice upgrade! Of course, there are some down sides. They are just some slight nit-picks about New Horizons, it's nothing major that makes or breaks the game, really. Just some things they haven't added like in past games, that I feel like I thought they would have added, such as... - No changing town tune (the music that changes every hour of the day) - No Gyroids Again, these negatives don't completely ruin the experience for me, but I'm not gonna lie... I miss the changing town music most of all. The same music gets a bit old for me after a while. Not that the music is bad, but after a while I just mute my sound since I play it for a while. I got the drawstring Bell Bag the game and that was an added bonus. Definitely worth paying $5 extra! The bag is very soft and super cute! I honestly couldn't wait to put my "bells" in it and just shake it for the fun of it. Lol! I may add some actual jingle bells too. Shipping was on time! I was surprised, because I thought it wouldn't come on time due to the whole COVID-19 thing, but if it was a little late, I understand though. But I'm thankful. Thank you, Best Buy!

My wife is addicted to this game.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. She has played this game more than I have ever seen her play anything else. Everything about this game is charming, and relaxing food for the soul. Its basically a giant bowl of chicken soup on a frosty cold day. Its extremely easy to get into and start managing your little island, and you can climb out of extreme debt and poverty by catching butterflies and fish. And in a year like 2020 has been, maybe catching bugs and planting flowers with a raccoon and rhino is just what we need.

Amazing Game!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received the code instantly, and downloaded it before release and got to play a bit early. I love it! I have loved all of the mainline Animal Crossing games and New Horizons is absolutely perfect. I know there is another review here that gives the game 1 star, but that is not the game's fault. The game is among one of the most enjoyable as far as I have played and I really think any true fan of Animal Crossing will love it!

Absolutely amazing game!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been in love with the Animal Crossing series since it was released on the GameCube; and when Wild World was released, I remember hanging out with my friends to use the local multiplayer feature on our DS. I enjoyed City Folk as well, but never got the chance to play New Leaf, as I wasn't interested in purchasing a 3DS. Needless to say, it's been quite some time since I played, and yet, this game brings back all the good memories of the older Animal Crossing games, while still being fun and fresh!

The Best “Escape Game” for the Pandemic?
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The exact thing I needed, for the start of the pandemic... and still need months and months later It’s cute, check. It’s way to pick up and play, check. But also, if you’re feeling a little out of control in 2020 in “this world” it allows you to “check out” and “check into” and take care of the things that you can control in your “island world” where hopefully you don’t have as many cares to bog you down... except for all those bells you’ll forever be owing Tom Nook!

Awesome game for everyone
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.AC has come a long way with it's graphics, stories, characters, etc!! I love AC New Horizons...the graphics are so much better than all the other AC games. It's even more sweet that it made it's way to the Nintendo Switch. The game is easy to play by any person at any age. It's just a calming game. There's goals, but you go at your own pace. It's a good game when you want to kill some time or shut the world around you off. Plus it came just in time during the stay at home order.

The best quarantine purchase I've made thus far
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To preface, this is my first Animal Crossing game--that is, if you don't count the couple of weeks I spent playing the Pocket Camp mobile game. I've been aware of the series since New Leaf came out, but never really looked into it, so I went into this rather blindly without expectations. For gameplay, its a nice, relaxing time where you can just take it slow and build up your island... Or you could just time travel like an absolute monkey, but what other people do with their islands is none of my business. The soundtrack kinda slaps, especially 5PM. As of writing, the game is still receiving updates and lots of new features have been released to keep the game interesting. There's also a bit of QOL changes that I think the game could really use, but we'll just have to wait and see. The online play is nice but not required, so that's a plus if you don't have the subscription. Probably the biggest issue--albeit not for myself--is that you can only have one island per switch. If you have multiple people in the same household who want to make their own islands, that means you gotta shell out the cash and get some more switches. Surprise, you didn't know and now you're tempted to fall into the trap of buying more switches!! The switch lite was made for this scheme and Nintendo knows it. Also the same-system co-op is garbage. You can look these up for yourself for more info. Drawbacks aside, it's still a pretty great game--moreso if you plan to play solo. I still play the game with my sister though. We just take turns on our respective profiles and slowly build up our island. If you can figure out a system should you decide to just have everyone play on the one island, then you should be fine. All in all, even taking into consideration what I've criticized, I'd still consider this game to be 5 stars.

Addicting game with some UX issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, I am writing this review for the 25 My Best Buy points. I figured the least I could do is punch out a few words on the ol' keyboard for my reward. AC:NH is an addicting game of repetitive tasks and customizing your island. After a couple of weeks of play, I do not think it stands out in any particular way in comparison to other "builder" games. It had the benefit of timing. While many people are under quarantine due to COVID-19, it became something wildly popular to pass the time. The game is solid for what it set out to do. The biggest problems are repetitive conversations with characters, such as talking to Blathers, the Museum curator. Donating fossils and other critters should not require going through a long conversation each time, continually hitting the B button to speed through it. It should be simplified. Much of the game suffers from this same UX issue. I would give it a solid 3 stars. But, thus far, it has been addicting enough to garner an extra star.
