Great game
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son absolutely loves this game. So much to do, bright and colorful graphics, and just plain fun. Only issue is that if your switch goes bad, you lose everything you have done so far in the game. For some reason you can't simply out the cartridge in another Switch and continue.

Fun and creative
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty fun game, only thing that sucks is that you have to wait a full day to do some things. Can get boring when you can’t do much at night time. Overall though I do find the game quite entertaining and fun. It’s a good creative game to play, I would still recommend.

Addicting!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been playing since the release date and I’m obsessed. The online play isn’t required, but it does make it a whole lot more fun when you connect with other users. (I find people with open islands on reddit.) There are events that happen pretty often which makes the game feel new every time. Outside resources for outfits, trading, and events makes this game so much more enjoyable. This is definitely a game for those who like to collaborate and customize.

A relaxing game to play
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 2nd game I've played in the Animal Crossing universe; the first being the mobile game, so I kind of knew what I was getting into. Game might not be for everyone since you're "grinding" to build your island, but it's a game where you don't really need to rush to get things done. You can play at your own pace and build and progress how you want. Definitely would recommend this game if you need a break from your usual 'high intensity' type games out there.

First timer
||Posted . Definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Perfect Escapism
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Animal Crossing is the perfect game to escape reality for a while. There are zillions of things to do from fishing, to digging up fossils, to visiting neighboring islands, to trying to figure out how to kick off unwanted villagers, to many, many more fun quests and adventures. Nintendo continues to provide free updates to the game, too, so it continues to feel relevant even a year and a half after launch.

Fun, but FYI if you want to have your own island
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun game. I bought a digital copy for my kid, found out you can only have one island per console, and if you have a lite, you can only play one player at a time, so I couldn’t play along with them. I bought a second console, you can play with the digital copy, but only under the person that purchased the software unless you change it to your primary console, and then it disables ability for second person (ie the kids account) from playing on the light. AND you can’t play console to console local play unless you have a second copy. I don’t want her having rando people visiting their island, and really wanted to have a visitor, so I caved and bought a second copy so we could. Kind of a pain, so be aware. You can play together at the same time on local console play with a single regular switch console, but play is limited for the other players not designated as the ‘leader’. But it is a fun game to play

Great!

Great game with a couple drawbacks
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a big fan of Animal Crossing since Wild World. The promise of New Horizons was actually enough to make me buy a switch! The game is amazing and absolutely worth it. Gorgeous visuals, fun new concepts different than the previous games, etc. The only drawbacks come down to Nintendo greed. Not only can you only have one island per game, you can only have one game per console, making it so that you have to have a different switch for every island (terrible for families.) There is also drawback to visiting friends' islands. Previously, traveling was a free feature, but now (according to what I've read) you have to have a Nintendo Online subscription for long distance travel. Really all horrible decisions on Nintendo's part. Otherwise, a perfect game.

The Perfect Escape
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has been a life saver during COVID lockdown. It's so calming to play either by yourself or with others. It's also a great source of satisfaction and fulfillment when the real world is proving difficult. I love the fact that the game operates in real time. It gives you something to look forward to and keeps you coming back day after day to see what's new. All ages will enjoy this game and find an activity in it that calls to then. Cannot recommend enough!

Sweet game for the whole family
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The whole family loves this game; it's simple, sweet, and with the new content there is so much to do it doesn't get boring. NPC interactions are a little limited and repetitive, but it's easy to get into a groove playing it and just do what you enjoy and take on challenges when you want to. Would not recommend for non-readers since a lot of interactions are not clear based on context.

I'd give this 10 stars if I could
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was one of the few bright spots in 2020 for me. I've played it over 700 hours since March 20th, and absolutely love love love the creativity, uniqueness, and overall joyfulness it provides. This is a fantastic game for kids and adults alike. I especially like the seasonality of it — the game never gets stale since the environment is constantly changing. Highly recommend on all fronts, and I'd give this 10 stars if I could.

Must have for Switch owners.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a dude. I play a lot of Battlefield, COD, Fighting Games, FPS, Racing games etc. I can't believe that I have played this game for over 300hrs since I purchased it (Via a year end email from Nintendo). It's a slow burner, but it's great for like an hour a day, and there is always something to do. I play with my gf (her island) and honestly, it's brought us closer as gaming friends and partners and saved our 2020. Fantastic game

All the rave this year
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely hands down switch game of the year so far. Keeps updating with numerous events throughout the calendar year to keep players busy and interested. Fun and appropriate for all ages and teaches lesson on diligence and hard working to upkeep your own island. Seeing growth from deserted island to a fully populated island by inviting over guests and villagers keep things dynamic with programmed AI for each players that have independent characteristics.
