Would not recommend this antenna! Installed directly in front of a window, no obstructions, signal booster added and channels within 16 miles constantly pixelating or no signal. The 60+ miles extended range is very inaccurate. The cost of this antenna is far and above what this antenna is worth. If I could return it, would be returned!! Very dissatisfied with this product and purchase!

Sorry for the inconvenience this caused you. When you connected the antenna, did you scan the TV for channels? If not, please try this by using the remote control for your TV. Go to menu, then channels and scan for channels. It is also possible that you are installing the antenna in a location where no signals are present. Try moving the antenna to a different area of your home and rescan the TV for channels again. Some locations can be in a bad spot to receive signals. If you need any assistance, we would be happy to help you. Please call us 877-825-5572 9am to 7pm M-F and on weekends from 10am to 6pm CST. You can also chat with us online at antennasdirect.com.

HD Quality OTA, and it actually works!

So, spending $80 on an antenna for Over The Air broadcast was a little off-putting and I went into this with high hopes, but low expectations. Upon opening the package I was actually a little worried as to its performance due to it's relative small size and seemingly weightlessness to it. It just feels like hollow plastic with a couple sticks that you can adjust (either up or down) on its sides. A feeble attempt to set it up indoors fell short of any channels, as expected. Not a single one came in. Lots of interference and I totally expected nothing. So, with a satellite dish already installed on the house from previous owners I decided to utilize the already installed mounting bracket for this antenna. Basically the same setup that comes with the 2MAX, but I didn't have to do the hard work, just removed the dish from the mounting post and placed the 2MAX in the same spot and faced it in about the same direction the dish was at. Basically pointed it towards the open part of the yard. Ran the channel search option on the Vizio TV (after running the antenna wire through the basement and directly to the TV) and after about a 3-5 minute scan I had broadcast TV! And way better quality than when I was a kid! I expected some channels to come in, but I didn't expect HD quality pictures, which include NBC, PBS, FOX and some other channels. A good amount to select from and all equally as good HD quality. I know location has a lot to do with it and relative distance to the broadcasting antennas, but if you've got those working with you then this antenna is a sure hit. Lightweight, easy install, extremely simply design. Just make sure you get yourself a long enough antenna cable if you have to install outside. I got the 50' wire for about $15 from bestbuy and it works great too.

This antenna works great! I was using one of those "paper thin" antennas and it would always cut in and out. This one picks up way more channels and doesn't cut out at all. Signal strength is excellent! I'm using this inside my house right next to the TV. Very excited about this antenna!

My Indoor Antenna Search is Finally Over

I've tried several different indoor antennas, I would get 5 to 6 channels after scanning, and don't let it rain, this became very frustrating for my wife and I. Picked up this antenna for BB, install/config, and voila, I picked up ~50 channels, I was astonished, so much so, that I ran the auto scan again to be certain. This antenna is the bomb.dot.com, and I highly recommend it as an indoor antenna option. I went directly to antennasdirect website this specific model is out of stock if that is any indication. Hope this helps to eliminate frustrations expereinced by others.
Peace and blessings,
Azeke

This antenna worked alright but it did a lot of tiling. It dropped the picture a lot in my area. I was not able to get but a few channels in my area.

Hello DeeC! We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. With the ClearStream 2MAX, most people tend to place the antenna on the floor. The towers are 1500 feet up in the air, so the higher you can get your antenna the better. Also, you always need to rescan the TV for channels each time you move the antenna. This could take a few attempts. If this doesn’t work for you, please contact our support team so they can make a recommendation for the right antenna for your location. They’ll need a little more information from you to perform a free signal analysis. We are here 7 days a week at 1-877-825-5572.

We decided to cord the cord. My concern was that we live between two cities Milwaukee (30 miles) and Chicago (45 miles). I wanted an antenna to get Chicago and hope that it would pick up Milwaukee just because it is close. This antenna was rated for up to 60 miles, so I hoped it would work. This antenna is called a multi directional antenna, meaning it picks up signals from all areas.
I first set it up inside my house in a window. I got 53 channels but at times a couple of the Chicago channels would fade out. I then researched and determined that the higher it was placed the better reception you would get and outside is preferred. I set up the antenna outside (on my lower roof- about 25 feet off the ground) and pointed it toward Chicago. I now get 73 channels. I get all of Milwaukee stations and all Chicago stations. I wired to my house and put in a splitter and still get a great HDTV signal on 3 TV's! I've had some incidents of a couple Chicago channels pixelating but they came around. I made need an amplifier.
This antenna seemed "cheap" but I was used to the old fashioned antennas that were metal and heavy-this is lite and was easy to set up.
We had some good gusty winds the past week and it stayed up and got a good signal. This antenna looks pretty modern and I have to get used to it on my roof line.
I have had antenna this up and am using it on three TV's with excellent results.
Please note-of the 73 channels some are double (ABC,NBC,FOX,CBS from Chicago and Milwaukee) . It's great for football because I can watch the Bears and Packers if they are playing at the same time. I also get WGN for some Cubs games. And PBS offers a weather channel in Milwaukee.
After the initial cost, I will save over $100/month just in cable TV bills! And the picture comes in clear and is in real HD!

Good OTA HD Antenna

I was contemplating cutting the cord and trying to see if I could get any local HD TV signals over the air. I see that no matter what antenna, there are both good and bad reviews out there. No matter how you look at it, every one will get different results based on their location, placement of TV, antenna, wiring used, topography of the area and where and how far the broadcast is coming from. After reading many reviews of the antennas and various factors that will affect reception, I decided to try out the ClearStream 2Max.
To my surprise, I received quite a few stations/sub-stations in my area. Of course many are foreign language based but I got about 35 just plugging it in and playing around with the direction just sitting next to the TV. I then proceeded to move the antenna up into the attic and after moving it around in different spots, the channel count increased to over 50.
After living with this antenna for about 2 weeks, I do notice some stations go in and out based on different factors that cannot be easily determined but some days good some days not so good on those specific channels.
Here are the relevant details:
* Antenna placed as high as possible short of going outside on the roof with cable kept to under 25 feet from antenna to distribution box area in bedroom closet.
* No signal booster used and using high performance signal splitter to 2 TVs downstream each about another 25 feet from splitter. If connected directly to only one TV, the signal is better on those weaker channels, so perhaps a signal booster might help when splitting the signal to more than one TV.
* Several broadcast stations about 40 miles away in a few different directions.
* We are located in the SF East Bay area (Dublin/Pleasanton) in a valley area with hills towards the direction of the main broadcast towers.
Conclusions:
* The antenna itself I think is fine and will work. There are a lot of contributing factors that will affect if you get 5 channels or 50 and unfortunately, everyone's experience will be different.
* Based on the number of channels I got and because many are not ones I would really watch, and if you cannot live with only having a few just strictly local channels, you probably cannot rely solely only on an OTA antenna.
* However, it might be a good way to supplement a bare bones streaming service that don't offer any local channels so that you can still have a way to watch your local news. That way, you could probably get your monthly bills to lower than having traditional cable service.
Hope this experience helps...

Exceeds Expectations

I installed this antenna in my attic to use as a backup to my cable. I am now using it full time in my kitchen to avoid the cost of an additional cable outlet from Comcast. I am receiving more channels than I expected and pictures are crystal clear. I have tried it on a few tvs in my home (new Samsung, older Toshiba, older Insignia). I do see some difference in how the tuners process the signals with the Insignia being the weakest. The new Samsung does the best job. Because my antenna cable goes from the attic to the basement before connecting to long cables to the rooms, I installed an amplifier in the attic and a splitter amplifier in the basement. Really helps boost the signal. I am within the specified 60 mile distance from transmitters.

Of course depending on the terrain and location, every home is different. For me, I live between Tampa and Orlando Florida and this thing picks up probably 70+ channels and they come in so clear. Combining that with a couple of your favorite streaming services and I’m saving a solid 75.00 a month from my Dish subscription. Easy install as well

Open Box Purchase. The Antenna works great.

Surprisingly ALL of the parts were there. I have bought Open Box items in the past that say no missing items but then got it home and there was something missing. The antenna was pretty easy to install and had a link to learn where the towers were to get the best reception. It was a little tricky pointing it in the right direction to get the most channels but in the end I got all the local channels and a few that I never knew about.

I bought this antenna to save on monthly cable bills since I usually just watch basic cable TV shows and all my other subscriptions (Amazon, Hulu, Netflix). I was choosing between this and the "stick-on-the-wall" slim type of Antennas but in the end decided on this since it at that time, it claimed to have the most reception/capability amongst all its other brand competitors. Size wise, it is quite bulky, but not too bad. I hide it behind my TV so it doesn't bother me at all. You will have to download an app to help you find the right direction to face it, but overall, reception and quality of HD TV has never been better! This is worth it! Though humans as we are, you might still want more from the product. so ALWAYS do your research before making a purchase!

In my opinion, this, ClEARSTREAM 2MAX is the best indoor/outdoor HDTV ANTENNA. My maximal scanning of channels was 43!! I could not believe it, so I did not move it again. The picture quality was excellent. The antenna was well made and easy set up. This is worth the investment!

If you have a clear line of sight to the transmission towers this antenna will pull in everything that's available. Don't waste money on indoor antennas. Unlike analog TV, digital TV is either on or off. Interruptions to the signal will cause pixellated screens, frozen screens, or just cut out picture and sound completely. The upside is ghosts and other multipath interference are history. This antenna is good for local stations but don't expect anything more than about 35 miles regardless of any claims on the box. Make sure you mount it outside where it has a direct path to the towers; it is directional so you may need a pro to install it. Trees, electric power lines, buildings, and similar obstructions will cause a problem. I dropped cable and satellite years ago because I just don't watch that much TV and this antenna brings in over 60 local signals. It should be obvious, but do NOT expect anything that requires a descrambler or subscription. This antenna is for free, OVER THE AIR TV only.

I mounted this one outside and am now able to get most digital tv channels. With some of the other (indoor) antennas I tried, I was constantly adjusting and still couldn't get many channels. Also, each tv required its own antenna. If you've ever had cable in your house, you can hook this up to the old cables and use one antenna for all the tvs in your home. My only regret is that I didn't purchase the one that reaches a bit farther -- this is the 60 mile range and there is a 70+ mile range -- but that's a future purchase.

Tested this antenna in the room with the TV and it worked great. Did not want to have it mounted in the room because it is really large and doesn't match any decor unless you are going for a spaceship look. Mounted it in the attic above the room with the TV and it pulls in 45 stations clearly. Easy to install on the provided mounting bar.

We replaced a bulky large flat “cage” type antenna that had no stand and was difficult to aim. The ClearStream 2X is easy to fold up, stand on a shelf or cushion, aim and it picks up very well especially on our 12v rear TV Rarely do I have to rescan. The 4X antenna with 2 loops seemed a poor value for almost twice the price

Antenna is light weight (but sturdy) that is easy to mount. Best if used outdoors. Tested both inside and outside my house and more channels were received when the antenna is located outside.
The base for indoor use is small and while it is adequate to keep the antenna standing by itself, you may want to consider bracing the antenna depending on where you install the antenna.
Reception is great (clear) and I did not notice any interference from inclement weather, etc. Works well when connected directly to the tv or with OTA DVR.

This antenna was easy to install (if you don't mind crawling in the attic and on the roof). Its fairly small so is not a visual eyesore from outside. It was a bit of work to run the additional coax but once I connected the antenna I starting receiving 50+ HD stations in the Houston area.
I can't quite get there with Conroe and College Station but they duplicate local stations anyway so it does not really matter.
This antenna is nice in that it does not require a powered amplifier...although it would be fun to see how many more stations come in if I add one.
What is nice about broadcast TV is that there are a lot more stations than cable gives your for the same network. For example: PBS on cable is one station. PBS transmitted is 4 video stations (or is it 5) and 3 radio stations...other networks are the same.

Worth every Penny. Bye Bye Rabbit ears. So happy with this purchase and excited about finally cutting the cord from sattelite and cable. This product was extremely easy to install and tied right into the existing infrastructure in my home. I used a compass to ensure i was at the right azimuth for the broadcasting station and receive 32 digital channels over the air for free! i live 25 miles from the broadcast station in a housing development so i was worried about interference but everything worked great. The hd resolution is better than i've ever seen with cable and sattelite. I was very surprised! couldn't be happier with this antenna!
