First, I scanned my TV using a HUGE outdoor antenna and got 30 plus stations. Then, I hooked up this ClearStream antenna is it picked up NOTHING no matter which direction I turned it. The RCA yagi did much better and picked up all the stations that the huge outdoor antenna had found. So, I returned the ClearStream antenna.. Note that I live in Syracuse, NY so I'm not far from many TV stations.

Called Antennas Direct to ask if there was anything I could do to improve the performance. The person stated that I should just bring it back, if there was no improvement. Now that's, customer service!!

No Low VHF 2 - 6 Reception

Prior to buying, check to see what channels your stations transmit on. With new FCC repacking, some stations are moving down there. For example, our PBS station says channel 15 but is transmitted on channel 3, so this antenna would not work in Roanoke. Check AntennaWeb for TVFool and search out the TV stations in your area and note which channel the TV station transmits on.

We got a couple different ion channels and shopping channels, as well as the Univision and telemundo, and some kids channels. But we did not get abc or nbc like we wanted to for the Super Bowl.

All locations and terrains are different, and signal reception varies in each location. Depending on where the towers are located and obstructions between the antenna and the available towers. 60 miles is a long distance and just because some obstructions cannot be seen does not mean they are not present between your location and the towers. We do have a free app called Antenna Point you can download to your iOS or Android phone. Once you download, the app will identify your location. You will see the towers in the surrounding area, so you aim the antenna in the right direction to pick up the TV signals. Our other antenna (different brand) works great. We actually used this brand antenna at a different house five years ago and it worked great. It was "open box" but the Best Buy salesman assured us that it worked and had been checked out by the Geek Squad. This is the 4th antenna we have installed and the second time using this brand and model so I feel confident we installed it correctly. Taking it back to the store.

Useless Large Antenna - No Local Channels

However, I found that the larger antenna would definitely not pick up my local TV station plus its ME affiliate. I scanned the channels several times but still no locals. It was useless since it could not do as well as the $20 antenna it was replacing. So, I returned the antenna to Best Buy for a credit. Be careful of the channels it will not pick up.,

Misleading included hardware

I picked up two of these antennas at the “order pickup”. I asked customer service was everything included or will I have to purchase something else while in the store. The gentleman David, confirmed everything was included as well as the item description online.. Included Hardware Included Yes Coaxial Cable Included Yes This is false, you’ll need to purchase coaxial cable for each antenna purchased. Wow, could’ve saved a trip before leaving the store. Will provide an update when I go back out to purchase the needed cable.

For the ClearStream 2MAX there should be a 20" Mast, All-Weather Mounting Hardware, Indoor Base Stand, and Instruction Manual. The coaxial cable is not Included. We did check the online listing and noticed the contents is not clearly mentioned, so we have sent a request to Best Buy to amend the listing.
