    Best antenna I've found

Between a local network dispute for my Dish Network service and removing my dish for a while to do repairs on my house, I went down a rabbit hole on trying to pull in all my local channels in the Denver area. I tried two other antennas before this one, all in my garage attic. First was a GE stealth-mount model that looks like a 2' long grey tube, and then second was a GE compact yagi model with a curved dish-like reflector. The stealth tube model worked surprisingly well, but VHF reception wasn't working for a couple key stations (NBC and ABC). I hoped the yagi model would improve VHF-high reception, but was incredibly difficult and too directional to get all the channels I needed. I could get one or the other channels, but not both; odd because they're on the same tower. I'm only about 15 miles from the tower with the 4 major networks. I tried multiple amplifiers, in different locations (at antenna or at TV), and had no luck getting all the channels I needed. I think I was overdriving the tuner on some strong channels, and was just amplifying junk on the weak channels. I read some great reviews on the ClearStream 2MAX and gave it a try. Out of the box I was pretty happy, but overall it was fairly similar to the GE stealth model and I couldn't reliably pull in the 2 VHF channels - the signal strength was just a bit too low. As a last-ditch effort, I ordered a VHF reflector kit from Antennas Direct from their website. It's basically a piece of wire grid that gets sandwiched in the middle of the antenna. Apparently earlier versions of this had the reflector, but it can reduce gain from the back side of this antenna. In my situation, it made a significant improvement. It was just enough of a bump in gain to keep the strength up on those VHF channels, and a station in the opposite direction didn't suffer much. I am now pulling in 60 channels quite happily. All-in, I'm over a hundred dollars, which is more than I started at, but finally have a working antenna that will serve as a good backup for frequent Dish disputes and outages from weather.

This is touted as an indoor/outdoor antenna. However i was unable to get a quality picture when used inside. I was however able to get a great picture, even through trees, when mounted outside. You decide...

This product has a 60 mile rating but really only gets that if it is mounted outdoors. I could not get more than 2 local channels when I put it inside my abode but now get almost 20 now that I moved it outside. It is rugged and well built. It does not have any coaxial cable so you will need to buy some separately. It has an app to help aim it towards your local station antennas.

Looking for something I didn't have to mount outside, but would pull in better signals than rabbit ears or those cheap flat notebook paper sized antennas. I found what was needed with this 2MAX unit. It is bigger than most indoor antennas ( roughly 1.5 ft tall when assembled) but definitely fills the bill. Much stronger signal, and pulled in over a dozen more channels clearly unattainable with the other alternatives. The quality is excellent and assembly was very simple. Would recommend.

Hi MikeM! We apologize you did not have a better experience with our ClearStream 2MAX antenna. We do not include coaxial cable in the box for a reason. Every installation is not the same, so providing a standard cable length wouldn't help everyone and we do not want people to pay for something they might not use. If you are still in the market for an over-the-air antenna, please consider trying us again. Give us a call at 877-825-5572. We will perform a FREE signal analysis of your area to determine which antenna is right for you and your location. We are available 7 days a week to help! Thank you. antennasdirect

We cut the cord on cable TV and purchased this antenna - we first had it inside and connected to one TV - then we moved it outside and connected to the network of TV’s in the house and it is working great so far - we’ve only had it in place for 2 weeks now!
