I went to a streaming service, but I needed to fill in some of the missing local channels Sling Blue doesn't give me. Enter the ClearStream 4MAX. I live in Manchester, NH, so the Boston stations I'm trying to pull in are about 50-60 miles away, due SE through rolling, granite filled hills. When I mounted it in the optimal location, I pulled in 42 channels with only one (CBS) having intermittent reception issues. ABC, NBC and FOX come in nice and clear. I'm going to try a 20db booster to see if I can clean up CBS. Just like your dad's or granddad's antenna, placement outdoors and up high is best. Due to the small size and light weight, I was able to mount this outside my third floor attic window from inside the house. No ladders involved, thankfully. I have it split between two TVs on a 25 foot run from the antenna into a 10db booster/splitter and 10 foot runs to each TV with no degradation in signal. My only gripe (a minor one) is that the mounting hardware could have had the same socket size, being that the mounting nuts and the bracket bolts were only one size apart. It was more than I really wanted to spend on an antenna, but it works and is less than a month of cable service.

After reading many reviews, I decided to try the Antennas Direct Clear Stream 4 Max. Glad I did! I now get 41 to 57 channels on each of my 4 TV's with no amplifier. Easy to set up and install. I highly recommend this antenna. My stations are 10-50 miles away in different directions and reception is crystal clear. The Antenna Point app was a great help too.

Wow 50 channels

I bought this when we picked up a HDHomeRun Quatro hoping that we would receive at least the big 3 networks. Much to my surprise we pulled in 50 channels! No more grainy / buffering / pixelated TV. It was super easy to assemble and install. I used the old mounting pole from our huge old antenna and it worked perfectly. Paired with the HDHomeRun Quatro and now every TV in the house pulls in all 50 channels without a single coaxial cable hanging down the wall -- all of our TVs have Amazon Fire Sticks or Rokus. Perfect solution and I'm not paying Comc*st hundreds of dollars a month! Would highly recommend this and the HDHomeRun Quatro!

Also, depending on where you Installed this antenna, assuming indoors, and in the same location as your "cheap" antenna, that would also affect reception. We recommend installing a long range antenna in your attic or on your roof for the best reception. Thank you for your time.

I have the antenna mounted on my roof with 10’ of steel pipe so it is about 25’ above ground level. According to the web we are 63 miles from the broadcast towers with no mountains in the way. If it is stormy we do get pixelation but we only watch tv a few hours a week and have gone 3 years without tv so I just pick up a book or stream something like I used to do. The picture, when not pixelated, is crystal clear. I would recommend but I think the advertised range of 70 miles is a bit optimistic

Yes you will need to mount it either in attic or outside up on roof (in this case two story home) and after auto scan tuning Voila! 40+ channels including local market HD stations. Going to cancel cable, this is one of the most important cord cutting solutions that you’ll need. Easy setup and install, good construction and very good reception for the fringe areas...recommended.
