I went from getting just a few channels to 64 channels and the reception couldn’t be better. Saved a bundle by getting rid of cable!

Didn’t Work For Me

Currently have a Best Buy brand Insignia yagi type antenna. It is quite small, but pulls in all the channels I can reasonably expect to get in my area (up to 50 miles). It even outperformed a larger RCA antenna of the same type. The only issue is this antenna is fairly directional and I have aim it “just so” to get all of the channels in together (the pbs station comes from the west and all the others are southwest). Was hoping this antenna, being an Omni-directional antenna and presumably a better one given the price would alleviate this problem but it was no better than my $30 Insignia and maybe worse. Going to try and relocate my old antenna one more time and get it a little higher. Then I’m done. At least the local affiliates of the major networks and their sub channels and PBS are pretty solid. The local independents are a bonus when they are in. Maybe this would work better in an urban environment?

There are various reasons why an antenna may not pick up certain channels. For instance, placing an antenna in the right location is the key to getting better signals. If you happened to place the antenna on the floor, for example, the signals may not have been presented or low to the floor. For indoor purposes, even an indoor/outdoor antenna needs to be up high. Towers are 1500 feet up in the air. Most of those signals are not pointing down, so we always recommend placing the antenna up as high as possible to achieve the best signal reception.
