I couldn't bring myself to drill the apex of the roof, so I modified the mounting, extended the pole with 1" PVC, and drilled over the eave. To my eye, the 1080i and 720p digital broadcasts look better than cable or satellite. You may not need to modify, but I wanted the antenna hidden from the front view while doing the least damage to the roof.
