Bought this antenna "Open Box" and have had great success over the past 4 months to watch free TV, over-the-air, in brilliant HD quality (and 5.1 surround, in many cases, too! From the Hagerstown, MD area, I can pick up all the Washington, D.C. local stations with this antenna hooked up to an amplifier (+15 dB?) the local cable company left behind after they turned off my cable TV. I have virtually no issues during storms, the picture is clear and crisp, and it doesn't fuzz out and lose signal like DirecTV did for the two years prior to getting this antenna. The J-mount looks chintzy compared to the DirecTV mount I had, but it has survived several storm with rather high winds and not budged at all. Also, the antenna was very easy to assemble (probably took me about a half hour to assemble and a bit longer to mount it on the roof with the included hardware. Many of my neighbors have asked what the goofy looking thing on my roof is...they're surprised when I tell them its a TV antenna that gets me free HD television.

Finally ditched cable and picked up one of these after trying a few cheap antennas. I could never quite get all the channels in my area that are being broadcast using an indoor antenna. My closest metropolitan area is about 50 miles away and with this antenna I am receiving all the channels that can make it this far. (at least according to various websites that predict the range of digital channels) Install was easy but be patient, there are a lot of little parts. I did end up installing my antenna on a satellite dish pole and it works fine.

Who knew that over the air antennas would become the new tech for replacing cable. Clearstream 4V set up in minutes and wired directly into our home's existing cable infrastructure. We get 28 digital channels that are clear.

I am happy with the Clearstream 4V. The thing is made of good quality materials, looks great and works well. It will take about an hour to assemble the unit. The Clearstream 4V successfully pulls in both UHF and VHF channels.

After purchasing an indoor omni-directional antenna (and spending a good chunk of change) and trying it out for awhile, I found it very inadequate. Frequent pixelation, interference, and loss of signal was a regular occurrence. Then I found this antenna. It is well worth the extra money I spent. Like all digital antennae, the picture quality is great. It takes extreme weather conditions before any interference occurs, and it is usually very short-lived. A good value in the long run.

I have never had TV this clear and crisp with any cable provider. Living in between two major cities I can pickup and abundance of channels all of which come in clear. Depending on the length of your cable run I would highly suggest a signal amplifier for each line going to a tv. I have mine setup this way and it's great. Worth the extra money for this antenna.

I finally "cut the cord" and went with this antenna. I am getting over 60 channels and with a splitter we hooked the antenna into our AM/FM receiver and get great radio reception. Oh, I am in Florida so this may have an effect on why we get so many channels.

Was able to get all my local channels in without the use of an amplifier, although I did end up getting one to clean up the signal and improved my reception of more distant channels. If I installed it on my roof, I could probably get more channels in. But, for now, it more than achieved expectations.

I previously had an indoor antenna that gave good reception, but the HD picture would pixelate during some weather conditions. With this antenna installed on my chimney, those issues are in the past! The TV shows a signal strength of 92 for most local channels. I am very, very happy with this purchase!

Antennas Direct - ClearStream 4V to replace 2V

I recently purchased the Antennas Direct - ClearStream 4V to replace my Antennas Direct - ClearStream 2V. The 2V is an excellent antenna but I have dense tree cover in my area and on gusty days the picture would occasionally freeze. The 4V has virtually eliminated this problem.

Did some research on several antenna's and also spoke with several sales persons. I ended up buying this antenna, was an open box item. I installed this in my attic and have a great picture. Receive approx 50 channels. Did not expect this result. Works great for me.

I just installed the Clearstream 4V yesterday and couldn't be happier so far! The antenna is being used at my cabin in upstate NY which is about 35 miles north of Syracuse in the heart of the Adirondacks. We don't spend a ton of time there so I can't justify paying for cable or a dish. I logged onto antennaweb.org beforehand to get an idea as to how many stations I could expect with a good antenna and it stated 22 for my address. I figured if I could get 10 or so, I would be lucky since it's located in a heavily wooded area and the antenna is mounted only about 12' high. Well to my surprise, I get all 22 , crystal clear too! My last antenna (which was a TerK) only gave me 8 or so and most of them would cut in and out during the daytime. If you don't want any surprises, check out antennaweb.org first to determine the number of channels available for your address. If you like what they say, buy this antenna, follow the installation instructions, and you will likely get similar results. It's important to point the antenna in the right direction so If you don't have a compass, you can use the compass app on your smartphone to aim the antenna is the perfect direction.

Recently been going thru the cable-TV cord cutting experience. Antennaweb.org said that we should be able to get all the OTA channels we were interested in, but I had severe doubts wrt some hi VHF channels *without* a clear line of sight. (Small mountain in between us & the transmitter). 2 most important transmitters were 90 degrees from each other & less important ones in another direction too. Wanted to avoid HOA issues, so an attic mount was necessary. I already had multi-directional flat panel RCA antenna from a few years back, but it couldn't get all the VHF channels & UHF at the some time, despite some repositioning. Encouraged by Best Buy's return policy, I decided to give the ClearStream 4V a try. Used TV Antenna Helper android app to help point the antenna, was able to get ALL the channels I wanted with just 1 or 2 repositions. Two further comments: 1. I've seen some reviewers here complain about VHF - just want to point out that if VHF reception is problematic you really should be using the ClearStream 4V - not the ClearStream 4. The V adds a VHF dipole. 2. I found the video assembly instructions on youtube much easier to follow than the paper ones in the box. YMMV.

Great Antenna for Free HDTV OTA

Impressed with the signal strength it delivers from the tv towers 45+ miles away. Setup was easy. Just placed it in the attic instead of rooftop.Combine this with a good OTA DVR and say goodbye to high cable fees. Make sure you get the model with VHF kit.

The FCC site says I have access to 3 broadcast towers, all in different directions. Fortunately the closest 1 is also the most powerful, so I could direct the antenna between the other 2. The recommendation was an antenna that could pull in channels up to 60 miles. I live on a large lake with many trees. I bought another antenna that was supposed to pull in channels up to 25 miles away & only got 2 channels (1 was a public service channel). When I 1st tried this antenna I only got 2 channels. I actually tried it on my deck while holding the antenna on a ladder to test it out. I then called the 800 help desk & it was suggested I get an amplifier, so I ordered 'The Juice', also sold by Antennas Direct. The tech also told me the directional setting for the antenna (110 degrees). I then retested & got 8 channels, including Fox, CBS, NBC & ABC. That's all I wanted. I then installed it in my attic. All told my total cost was $250 (including 50' of cable)

Little difficult to understand the instruction but once installed I was getting 20 channels. I ran it through the current cable wires and with no loss of signal or need for signal booster. However, since my house border a road every time a car drove by I kept getting interference. Called the company and was notified that the antennae was pointing the wrong direction. After correcting that my channels went up to 29 channels. NO MORE CABLE BILLS!!!!
