I tried a cheaper antenna first, it worked OK but was having some issues with some channels. This one, piece of cake, and works well. Only disappointment, it doesn't look like a sci-fi death ray like the other one did!

    Great antenna With long range

We placed this antenna in our attic. The range was great and we picked up a total of 21 different channels that were as clear as our cable channels. We instantly dropped our cable premiums and couldn't be happier.

I read reviews on this antenna and thought it would be an improvement over the simple yagi antenna I have been using. I was wrong. I carefully assembled the antenna and installed it in the same location, and at the same elevation. I only received the same channels I was already receiving. So, a $30 yagi antenna will/does work as well as this $170 antenna. Save your money!!

Glad to hear that you are doing so well. If you are very close to the towers a 70+ mile antenna may not be needed. We have shorter range solutions for locations such as yours. Have a great day! Antennasdirect

I cancelled my television service and placed the Clearstream 4V near my exterior splitter. The picture is great on all televisions. I am very happy with this purchase.

Over the 4 years I've had it, it works great. I placed mine in the attic and had it face a window that is the closet to our antenna towers 25+ miles away.

Don't Count on Clearstream Support for Help

We cut the cord over a year ago and have been using the Mohu Leaf with Amp prior to moving to Alabama with success. It is time to get the OTA up and running in our new home and the leaf worked ok in the attic but we felt reception and number of channels could be better and we bought the Clearstream 4V. After spending a couple of hours up in the 100 degree attic moving the antenna around we came to some conclusions. First the number of channels picked up with the Clearstream was worse than the Leaf. Secondly, things improved if we used the Leaf amp with the Clearstream but we felt since the Clearstream was larger and more expensive it should really not need an amp. By the way using an amp is not listed ANYWHERE in the assembly install instructions as a possible need/alternative and Best Buy doesn't even sell them here. So I called the number in the Clearstream guide the next day and the person helping me appeared to know even less about my location, possible channels, etc than I did. Overall not a very good experience. When I mentioned that it would be helpful if at least mentioning having to need an amp were in the guide it was stated that how could they list it as a possible need because people might not need one????? Going to spend one more evening trying to pull channels in and then ditching it back to BB. Not really sure why one would spend more on this device than a Mohu at this point.

Very sorry for the inconvenience. A few explanations for you. The Leaf antenna is an indoor antenna that would plug directly into your TV. While it may have more obstructions between itself and the broadcast towers such as building materials from your walls, trees, shrubs, maybe even cars, it does have a direct line to the TV tuner. When installing outdoors using an antenna such as the Clearstream 4-V you avoid most of the obstructions, but you now have to deal with a longer coaxial cable run, signal splitters and possibly hardware leftover from the satellite or cable TV installation. The long cable runs and signal splitters, dependent on your location and signal strength may require an amplifier. Most customers will not need amplifiers, that's why there isn't an amp included or suggested Leftover hardware from satellite installs may actually block some or all of the OTA broadcast signals. Most of the time an outdoor install will get more channels and better reception than indoor. Hope this helps. Antennasdirect

I was told by store associate the range on the antenna should get the CW channel I use to receive but don't receive now. No one can tell me why i can't receive it. So I feel I've received bad info on antenna range. CW tower is suppose to be in 25 mile range, this is suppose to be 50 mile range antenna. So it works as good as the other antennas I've bought except for me getting CW channel.

I purchased this antenna thinking from the reviews that I would pick up more channels. Not so, I only receive the same channels that my cheaper in door antenna picks up and I didn't have to mount on roof as I did this one. Save your money!

    Didn't work for me

I installed this antenna at a house about 45-50 miles north of Tampa (which has dozens of tv channels). Mounted on the roof about 15' high with no obstructions in direct line of sight. Adjusted it all over the place and tried on two different tv's. I received one channel well enough to be "watchable", and it broadcasts from less than 10 miles away. Two more were such a snowy mess that to call it reception would be a stretch. That's it. The $30 attic-mount Chinese antenna it was supposed to replace picked up more. Very disappointing, returning it.

TV towers 30 miles away and it didn't work

We live about 30 miles from four major TV network towers (FOX, NBC, ABC, and CBS) and this antenna did not pick up any of those signals from the attic nor the garage. When we placed the antenna in the master bedroom (first floor), it picked up only CBS and PBS (6 miles away). As this product claims a "70 mile" range, our actual results were very disappointing. This antenna was returned a few days after purchase.

I reside ~35 miles west/northwest of Chicago and was only able to get 1 channel, WBBM-2. It was not consistently clear. I had removed my DISH (actual dish piece) and connected this antenna to the existing apparatus and had it face downtown. Bummed
