Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the ClearStream Micron Indoor Long-Range Digital TV Antenna's reception, picture quality, and ease of use. Many appreciate its ability to pick up a good number of channels and its relatively compact size. However, some customers found the signal strength inconsistent and a few felt the price was a bit high for the performance. The length of the included cable was also a point of concern for some users.

Fast easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast and easy setup, works great, excellent picture. Must be near a window for maximum reception and most channels. I'm picking up 30 something channels. Far more channels then I expected, I'm about 20 miles from NYC. Very happy

Not a Wall Mountable product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This antenna is designed to be used indoors on a table top. Although the picture on the box shows a wall mounted option, (which is why i purchased it,) It cannot be mounted without altering (drilling a hole in) the back of the antenna and hanging it on the wall with a nail, or screw. This is a directional product which needs to face the local antenna in order to get the best product. If you have the tabletop space is suppose it would work, but I gave it three stars because i expected that i could mount it on the wall. Additionally, despite being in range of the broadcast antenna, i cannot pick up one of the local TV channels, I'll be returning it for a different product.

great picture quality and number of channels
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried all three indoor models that my Best Buy store Carries and this one all although in the midrange, provided almost 30 channels! The quality of the picture is HD as well so it is a lot nicer than cable. Setup takes about as long as it takes you to take it out of the box with no added supply connector eating your money or electricity. My only issue with it is the loss of signal on the channels depending on what's going on, say like walking in front of the tv unit. It loss great and climb and is easy to hide our put on the wall with its nice black finish.

Great product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Antenna, hooked it up and set it up within 10 minutes, super easy. Great reception, Placard at store showed only 5 stations within my range...ended up being 40+...very surprised. excellent reception...I have DirecTV on three other tv's in the house and this produces exact same clarity as satellite reception. I'm just amazed. Highly recommend if your looking for just the basic channels, great reception and inexpensive options for TV viewing.

Better than expected!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just moved to Chino Hills and was very concerned about tv reception due to the hilly terrain and did not want to pay for cable/dish since I do not watch tv that often. I read up on the pros and cons of indoor vs outdoor antennas and ultimately decided on indoor since there are HOA restrictions on outdoor antennas where I live. After connecting, I conducted a scan for channels on my LCD TV and received most channels except channels 9 and 13. ABC (7) was logged in, but it depended on where I placed the antenna. I suspect I will need to mount it on the wall above 5-6 ft high directed northwest toward the towers. Since I was expecting a struggle to get ANY reception, I was pleasantly surprised at the strength and clarity of the channels I did get. Nice product for the price!

Easy, simple product for anyone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No awkward rabbit ears here. This over the air satelite is easy to set up, taking less than 5 minutes. The device itself is pleaseing to the eye and can be laid flat, stood up or wall mounted. Having the device inside makes adjusting very easy and reception is 95% great, HD quality from my location. If your "cutting the cord", this is a great way to keep your local channels.

Easy to install and works Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased an HDTV and I could only receive 2 channels with my old antenna. I upgraded to this antenna and I can receive 20 local stations in the DC metro area. Crystal clear reception on all channels. The statement from the maker that the antenna has a range of 25 miles is accurate. Just plug the antenna in and setup up through your TV and your good to go. It only took five minutes to be up and running. The sales rep. at Best Buy was very helpful in directing me to this product. He said that this is one that works and he was right!

An antenna that works well in-doors.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had it for over a month and it works well. I previously had the RCA Indoor Antenna ANT400 and it worked okay but I wanted something better because I was limited with channels and I could not get a solid connection. This antenna works much better than the RCA. I catch many more channels and I my reception is solid.

A little better than bunny-ears
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the reception is a little better than we had with the bunny-ears, but it isn't radically different. It's a bit pricey considering the difference isn't hugely different.

Cheap way to watch TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty much plug in and start watching TV. I only get about 8 channels but but they all come in as well as cable. The HD channels look great.

Amazing investment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live on the third floor of a four-story apartment complex in Downtown Los Angeles, and my apartment faces a courtyard with other apartments across the way. I was worried about reception, but my worries were never realized. This antenna surpasses my expectations; the HD channels were crystal clear, and the set-up was the easiest thing ever. While signals for some channels were weaker at times than others, I really have no reason to complain because the $69+tax that I paid for the antenna was and is an excellent, thrifty alternative to a cable TV subscription.

Great picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am surprised how well the picture is from this antenna. I get plenty of channels, HD programing as well. I bought my first one for my bedroom that did not have cable access and after using it for a few weeks, I bought a second one and canceled cable. Well worth the money.

Awesome Indoor Antenna
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted an indoor antenna for the TV in my children's room. I bought this antenna as the store had a few choices but was impressed with the antenna design and looks as soon as I opened the box. It is very efficient and practically needs no assembly. The picture quality is great on my digital TV and I can watch all local and DTV channels for free now.

The specs are NOT as promised... not even close.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently made the switch from satellite to over-the-air HDTV. I had an old, flat omnidirectional antenna that I used at first, but some of the distant stations were coming in weak, and even one of the local major networks was sometimes spotty. So, I looked at BestBuy online (since I had some rewards points to use) and saw the excellent ratings for this Clearstream Micron antenna (model CSM-1). For the size, I was impressed by the 8.25dBi gain that boasted it could pull stations from 30 miles away. I looked up my local store, and it showed that it was in stock, so off to the store I went. I went straight to the HDTV section and quickly found this antenna. I verified the model number and headed home with my purchase. Setup was very easy (just plop the antenna into the combo base / wall mount.) I was a little disappointed that the pin inside the coax connector was bent. No big deal there, but it showed signs of poor quality control. I was much more disappointed in the reception. Even after a lot of positioning, my signal strengths were about half of the much cheaper ($19, five years ago) old antenna that I had. I couldn't belive that 8.25 dBi of gain would result in such a poor signal. I went back to the box and instructions and discovered that although this was exactly the same model number and price as the one online, the box only specified 4.5 dBi of gain. Now, dBi is not linear. That means that the gain listed online was about 2.37 times more than the gain listed on my box. That explains the poor reception. I do not know why the two numbers disagree, but life is too short to investigate. Instead, I will return this piece of junk today and pursue what, as an engineer, I knew I should have in the first place: one of those ugly, stick figure antennas that you used to see on everyone's rooftops years ago. Except, I think I'll just hide mine in the attic. Moral of the story: Don't rely on model numbers to guarantee what you are purchasing. Apparently, Antennas Direct does not change the model number when they change the design. (I cannot explain the great reviews on this site unless they maybe were actually lucky enough to receive the CSM-1 Micron with the actual 8.25 dBi gain. I guess you could always cross your fingers and hope for the best.)

Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best indoor antenna ever!!! I went from 4 channels to 16. Then with some moving I got 21 Channels! I says it is a 30 mile antenna but its more like a 50 mile antenna! I live on the bottom apartment facing woods so there are alot of obstructions and tall buildings to get in the way.

Works well as advertised.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This attenna is easy to assemble, works well, and picks up many high-quality HD channels. However, it does not pickup the NBC affiliate in Orlando, FL - WESH Channel 2. Otherwise, a very good antenna.

Pretty good reception
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used this to replace a Phillips HD antenna with plug in amplification that did not work very well for UHF channels. This one seems to do pretty well in our area. When I first change the channel it comes and goes for a minute or 2 but then locks in and gives good reception.

Great Reception
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchase this antenna while I switched cable providers. Based on previous experience with amplified antennas (apartment building surrounded by other high-rise buildings), I asked about the return policy (prepping myself for horrible TV reception). With digital TV (DTV), I am able to watch ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and PBS in either 720p or 1080i with no issue and not having to place the antenna near the window. I am receiving other local channels with no problem. To the bad, I don't not receive any over the air (non-DTV) channels. I am receiving approximately 15 DTV channels and they are all clear. If you are in an area that broadcast DTV (mandated by law), this antenna should for you.

A Pleasant Surprise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant about dropping cable/satellite for our HD local channels, and gave this antenna a try. I could not be more pleased with the quality of the reception, and the idea that I won't have to pay for TV anymore! (It actually pulls in 18 crystal clear channels.) A very pleasant surprise.
