Customers are saying
Customers recognize Anthem's fun and smooth core gameplay, praising the exhilarating flying mechanics and the immersive open world. However, they also point to issues such as lengthy loading times, a lack of content at launch, and persistent bugs affecting the overall experience. While some appreciate the game's story and price point, others find the loot system and server stability problematic.

TERRIBLE
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible game!! My group of gaming buddies talked about this game for about a year before it came out. I never saw the hype in the trailers even up to release date but because my friends got it I got it to play with them.....NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN!!

bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.online only. online subscription required. why don't they make this more clear. I could not play the game. I am super upset. I had to sell it at a loss because Best Buy won't take it back. I am losing money on this. I am upset with Best Buy and with the game manufacturer.

Highly Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted this game to be as great as it has the potential to be but it just has way too many problems and BioWare seems to make things worse with patches and updates. I don’t recommend anyone considering this game to buy it at all rent it and see for yourself!

Dramatic disappointment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has turned out to be a major disappointment. EA could have made something great here but as they have often done, they dropped the ball. I would give this a pass.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Normally I do not purchase new software, but I’ve by waiting for this release for a over a year. After 3 weeks and 2 upgrades I haven’t been able to connect to the server. I would not recommend this product.

Failure to launch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not the only one who came into this mega hyped. Unfortunately, I was left wanting. Even after the updates, the loading still stinks and my game still crashes a ton. I’m disappointed

Good on paper, it's the execution that's bad.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being revealed at E3 2 years ago, it looked to be a high quality title from a very well known developer - Bioware. Unfortunately this is a shallow shell of what it could have been.

Not bad, but not Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Anthem is an odd duck for me. On one end, the game is shockingly beautiful and the landscape is well-realized and a joy to fly and walk through. On the other, it is plagued with a myriad of issues relating to servers kicking you offline, and content being incredibly shallow. Every single time I have attempted to play Anthem I have been kicked at least once due to EA's servers disconnecting, which so far has lost me hours of progress and items. Free play is a great time, just allowing you to mess around the world and explore a little bit, but if you get kicked at any point while you are playing you will lose everything you earned during that time. The equipment is pretty standard fare, nothing sticks out to me as being remotely interesting to work towards. At least in Destiny you had the Exotics to look forwards to, something that would dramatically change how a gun worked. But in Anthem all you are reaching towards is a higher number gun that is functionally the same as the starting rifle- there isn't anything unique. Almost every loot-based game from Diablo to Borderlands has come out with top-tier items that are wildly interesting, but Anthem simply doesn't have it. Anthem feels like someone, somewhere, had a good idea and it got so diluted over stress, publisher demands, and an unwillingness to change what AAA games could be that it exists as a hollow shell that has all of the elements of good game play, but simply feels bland. I hate that this game is so unfinished, I really want to enjoy it and to be able to get my friends on board to play it. But until it becomes a fun game, I honestly am going to shelve it until a later date. Hopefully it can make a come back like Destiny did (with both games irritatingly enough) and become something to play and have fun with. Until that day though, I can't recommend it to anyone who has to spend $60 to experience a mediocre experience.

Graphics can't make up for poor mechanics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A game full of endless loading screens and poor fighting mechanics, along with repetitive encounters and mission objectives. Best to avoid.
