    Keep waiting

I am one who has been looking forward to anthem since it was originally announced, but I have to say it's a bit of a disappointment for me. The good: when it works, the graphics are pretty solid, and the game play mechanics feel good. The bad: install time on this for me was around 4 hours so it took awhile for me to even be able to play it. Since then I feel the game has excessively long load times to get in to missions, sometimes up to 5 minutes for me and frequently the game will restart before the mission finishes loading. The game in its present state has quite a few bugs and glitches. I would recommend waiting to buy this until EA and Bioware work out more of the bugs.

    Great game! Better with time.

Overall, Anthem is an awesome game that looks and plays very well, in my opinion. I’ve read plenty of good and bad reviews on this game but wanted to see for myself. At this time, a week after launch, the game still needs some work to iron out some bugs and server connectivity issues. Honestly, I’ve only had connection issues during peak play times so it’s understandable (to an extent). These issues will not affect the game forever and both BioWare and EA are reputable companies that make quality game experiences. I’m looking forward the end game and new content. If you’re on the fence about this game, I recommend getting it. There’s a lot to learn, explore, discover, loot, and master so why not get started while everyone else just waits for a bunch of good reviews to tilt the scales from ‘mixed’ to ‘positive’, because that’s whats going to happen anyway.

Fun to play solo or with other players

The game is fun whether playing solo or matchmaking with other freelancers. 4 stars because I found out that I am missing the preorder in-game bonus content (Legion of Dawn Legendary Ranger Armor Pack and Weapon, and the Founders Player Banner). I have yet to receive the code from Best Buy.

    Disappointing

This game could have been a lot better, but Bioware/EA has been striking out a lot lately. First, it was Mass Effect Andromeda and now this. Graphic this game is amazing. Right up there with typical Bioware fare. The gameplay is average. If you are looking for a sprawling open world experience you will not find it here. This game reminded me a lot of Destiny. A game that had hype and potential but fallen to deliver with the end product. Is there fun to be had, sure. Will you be playing this game over an over again once you complete it, probably not. I would definitely wait for a sale before jumping in on this one

    Fun game but short

It is a fun game. I like the controls and variety of builds and modifications you can make. However the game play main story is extremely short. And it is rumored that the fox will be mostly incorporated into freeplay mission.

I wish it was only Single-player

I played Anthem mostly single-player and I enjoyed myself. It does get repetitive, but it's well made and has a cool story. Definitely not as good as Destiny or Destiny 2, but worth it if you enjoy the type of game it is.

Eh. It could be good but needs content+updates

I'm pretty sure everyone has anxiously been awaiting Anthem for a couple of years now, I know I was. Now that I have it in my hands I sort of wish EA would have cooked this one longer – maybe even another year. While it looks good, Anthem is a fairly shallow game at its core. Sometimes shallow is good – see my Crackdown 3 review as example – but in this case, what remains isn't interesting enough to keep my attention for very long. I bought 4 games on the same day, I suspect Anthem will either be the one I play last, or yet another title that gets unceremoniously dropped in the backlog pile with Fallout 76. No, it's not as bad as Fallout 76, but it's close to as disappointing, given the expectations I have of BioWare.

I read a ton of pro reviews before buying, was skeptical since they are all pretty bad. This game is really good though, and makes me seriously question the intelligence of those reviewers.

    Fun Game

Anthem is a fun game if playing with friends but becomes repetitive if playing by yourself. Worth picking up if you plan on playing with friends.
