works pretty well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works better than my old rabbit ears. It's kind of bulky and probably better suited for outdoor use. Seems to get all my local channels fine. I'm using it indoors. Free tv just lots of commercials.

Meh...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I won't get into technicalities because I don't know the technicalities of antennas and how signals work and such. PROS: Indoor or outdoor. It does work. Seems sturdy if set on top of something indoors (i.e. a tv stand). Not heavy. Includes a long antenna cable. CONS: Does not work as well as my current one. Color is hideous (why anyone would make white antenna beats me; why anyone would make an off-white antenna, bless the purchaser's soul). Big and bulky. Good luck getting that big metal thing off in the back. I live in a big city. I currently have an antenna by another company that I have been using for a few years now. When I first got it, I put it beside my tv in my living room, and then close to my front door, and then right beside my huge living room window. This yielded poor results. I then went online and found where my satellites are. And moved the antenna to my bedroom and stuck it in my window. This yielded good results. I bought some cables (super long and moderate length) and a splitter so that my bedroom and living room tvs could share. All good. Why am I saying all this about my current antenna? So that I could compare for this review. I basically took all the same steps with this Antop antenna, just to give it a fair chance. It did not produce as good results as my current antenna, although not poor either; which is why I gave it 3 stars. By the way, I also checked the satellites on Antop's provided link; I didn't know what it was telling me, so.... Now let me go backwards. Your instructions for the various ways you can set this up are stupid. You have me thinking that I can remove that back metal piece with a screwdriver. LIES! I mean, really? That thing does not come off. I used a screwdriver and then pliers. No go. I later read in someone's review that I needed a ratchet. Where they do that at?! I left it on, not by choice. By the way, that picture and directions for removing that back metal piece comes up multiple times in the instructions. Let me be clear though, this Antop antenna is not the worst antenna out there, and probably not even close. But it just so happens that my current one is better. One more thing, change that hideous color immediately! Stick to black! And if you don't want to, then white. But the off-white, good gosh. Reminds me of fat computers from the 80s and early 90s. Lastly, this is all indoors for me. Peace.

Compact, lightweight, good reception
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in a rural area that's right about 65 miles from the nearest city TV broadcast antennas. To say I'm a cord cutter isn't exactly accurate because I never had a cord to cut, but for the last 25 years I've depended on Over-The-Air broadcasts for my TV. For all of those years, I've used one of those large outdoor antennas with the fold-out metal arms (but had it tucked into my attic). I take the signal from this, feed it through an amplifier and distribute to all the TVs in my house. I'm right at the maximum range for this AT-400 antenna, but thought I'd give it a try because it is SO much more compact and easier to move around than the old large antenna. At my distance, though, it wasn't quite good enough to completely replace it. There were two stations that I would lose if I turned it to get all the others. The AT-400V might be a better choice at the 65-70 mile range. However, I still highly recommend trying this antenna if you're in the 30-60 mile range from the broadcast towers. If you're closer, you could get by with an even smaller, cheaper antenna, but for the higher range I think this is a winner just because of its compact size. Anyone who has tried to unfold, secure to the rafters, maneuver and adjust one of the large, old antennas will really appreciate this compact, lightweight antenna that can do the same job.

Great for basement use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I chose to get this antenna because I have tried many other options to get a good signal for my basement HDTV. For reference, the basement is partially underground with thick concrete walls and glass block windows. Previously, both the indoor rabbit ear and 'flat' style antennas that I had attempted to use would not get a full range of channels that I liked to watch. Also, some channels would go in and out depending on any human movement in the room. Although this antenna can be mounted on the outside wall or roof, I wanted to see how it works by keeping it indoors and sitting on the glass block window sill. The antenna is pretty large compared to those I have owned before so it can be an eyesore if kept inside. Fortunately, I have curtains over the window so I can hide the antenna behind them. Once I connected the cable and did a channel scan, it found about 40 channels. With the other antennas, I would get about 20+ but many times the main ones (ABC, NBC, CBS) would go out after a few days and I would have to re-position the antenna and try again. So far, I am happy with the ANTOP for its indoor use. I assume I might get even more channels or have a better connection overall if I placed it outdoors. Overall, I would recommend it for those having trouble getting a good signal in a basement.

Well...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First impression opening the box was it's bigger than the online picture made it look. It's understandable considering it's an indoor and outdoor antenna. Easy setup (except taking the metal bracket off the back). It picks every channel except for the Fox station and that's more due to that tower is further away than the other towers. It works fine, just wish it was smaller. I'm already tired of friends asking me "what is that?"

First Impression
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is based on my first impression with this antenna. First, I didn’t want to give this product a bad review so I stayed somewhat neutral with three stars. This product’s performance will vary based on the location. I used this product in an upstairs bedroom in the suburbs. Out of the box, I was shocked at the size. In the photos, they show this antenna sitting side by side a television looking small next to a tv. This product is massive. Unless the tv in the photo is a 150” tv, it’s not to scale. Regardless, I opened the box and tried this antenna all over the bedroom. I was only able to pull in our local CBS and ION affiliates. With my experience, these are the easiest channels to grab. NBC and ABC simply would not work. In comparison with a Mohu Leaf, much smaller and less noticeable, I was disappointed in this product. The Mohu Leaf pulls in CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, ION all with little distortion. The CBS station is crystal clear always. I can’t say this product doesn’t work because it varies from person to person but for me it didn’t work well. I will keep it and try in another location down the road.

Needs amplifier
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We wanted to separate our signal so decided to get this for our detached garage with rec room. The antenna was a lot larger than expected & comes with a stand for indoor use, nicer looking than most antennas . We tried it outside but on the ground since we didn’t get a chance to mount it up higher, I believe the signal will improve if we do. We were unable to get ABC or any low vhf channels at all so amplifier would be needed. Our current antenna pulls in a lot more channels than this one did. The picture was very clear & didn’t freeze at all. I’m giving it 3 stars because it’s not a bad antenna , It just didn’t work well for us.

Good Antenna for Cord Cutters
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This antenna is very easy to setup and then you just have to do a channel scan as usual on your TV. Good range with crisp reception. The only issue is the antenna is way bigger than I expected it to be.

HD antennas of the future!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I normally don’t watch as much over the air TV, but on occasion, such as local news sometimes or weekend shows. This will be my second HD antenna and, perhaps as a replacement as I may do away with my old one. This is quite a huge, tall antenna, being 23” high (and so therefore box is huge). I have this situated on my tall dresser (which is on my desk) which is right next to my 4K tv on its own stand, in my bedroom. I have the antenna moved next to the window, but that may come in later. When I auto tuned the TV to scan for channels, I totaled 32. That was 3 channels less than when I had my old antenna. The old antenna however had an included amplifier, this didn’t come with one, but overall it does open up an electrical outlet. And with this few amount of channels lost, it tells me it’s a strong high gain antenna indeed (perhaps maybe I will experiment trying the amplifier to see if those channels come back or more). As I was flipping through channels, the more important channels that I usually watch are still intact. The few channels lost are of no importance pretty much. But same quality and no loss. I understand this is a 4K ready antenna, but in my area I don’t believe there are any channels broadcasting 4K resolution yet. So locations and stations I would think may vary. Sooner or later, I may just mount this on the outside, that is if I do get a place of my own shortly. I’m sure bound to maybe get more channels if I do. The included cable is of very great length (though I didn’t use much of it), and the wall/outdoor mounting hardware is included with easy instructions. And nice looking innovative design.

No Better Than Rabbit Ear Antenna Indoors
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only tried it indoors - perhaps it might work better mounted outdoors. I tested it against rabbit ear antennas already in my possession in three different rooms where HDTVs are located. In the two rooms with the best reception (i.e. least interference) the Antop did not work as well as the rabbit ear antenna during the day and only equally as well at night. In the third room (with the most interference), the Antop worked somewhat better than the rabbit ear antenna. At about 1.5 ft tall by six in. wide by 3 in deep (the base is about 4 in deep) the Antop is quite large compared to other indoor antennas. It is easier to adjust by pivoting it on its base than were the rabbit ear antennas but that also seems to reduce its effectiveness in bringing in a greater number of channels. Sadly, I cannot recommend the Antop for indoor use.

Not Bad
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally hooked up antenna and it is not bad! I am able to get broadcast HD channels with pretty clear reception. I currently have in my home so maybe if I position outside it will get a little more. It is worth it if you are trying to get rid of these cable bills but it needs a DVR function.

Bigger is not always better!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ANTOP - Indoor/Outdoor Flat Panel Antenna - White performs well for its huge size. I used it indoors exclusively and therefore cannot critique its outdoor functionality. It picks up all available DTV channels during scanning. I had to adjust the angle of the ANTOP - Indoor/Outdoor Flat Panel Antenna - White sometimes, depending on what channel I was viewing. Since I live in a major telecommunications tri-state hub, I inferred that the ANTOP - Indoor/Outdoor Flat Panel Antenna - White would pick up additional channels more than my conventional rabbit ear antenna. I was wrong about that inference. Indoors the ANTOP - Indoor/Outdoor Flat Panel Antenna - White does not out perform an old fashioned rabbit ear antenna for scanning DTV channels. I cannot speak for the indoor/outdoor performance of the ANTOP - Indoor/Outdoor Flat Panel Antenna - White in an area without a major telecommunications hub.

Large, but not in charge...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried this antenna indoors and outdoors. I mounted it to the top of my porch, I put it in every corner of my living room, and every window. I pulled it across my driveway and onto the sidewalk in front of my house, and I placed it in the tree in front of my house... And in every location except the one where I put it on top of my truck in the driveway, it was easily outmatched by my previous hideaway antenna that is about 20 times smaller than this one. This antenna performed so poorly that I broke out my Fluke multimeter to test the coax and connectors to make sure they weren't shorted out somehow. IMO the marketing department is much better than the engineering dept for this product.
