Get the CQ27G1 instead

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a AOC CQ27G1 (note the Q in the model) from microcenter for a similar price and decided I wanted to get a second monitor and had points to use. I didn't notice this is the C27G2, rather than CQ27G2. the big difference is this monitor only goes to 1920x1080. The CQ models go to 2560x1440. This model has a slightly higher refresh rate, but the CQ is only about 20 mhz faster. They have the same response rate. I'd rather get the higher resolution. This is a really good monitor - its exactly what it says it is and the AOC monitors are nice. I love this form factor. I just really hate that I spent the same money on a monitor with half of the max resolution from the same brand. I was moving and didn't open it for about a month - wish I had noticed earlier. I would have returned it.

Only thing i wasnt much a fan of is when you play competitive games like shooters. You sometimes get this weird glitch like an analog camcorder, other than that it has pretty good quality

For the price you can’t beat it. The curve isn’t too noticeable(I’ve never had a curved monitor) and (to me) the colors look great.

The only reason it’s 4 stars is because it randomly sleeps every few minutes mid game or movie and I haven’t figured out a fix yet:/

Using it as primary monitor with laptop

I was able to get it a little cheaper using amazon's price. I use it as main screen, with a laptop as secondary. I use HDMI that came iwth the monitor. Currently use it to play Overwatch.
