Got this because of the way the layout of the power plug slots were.

So far so good I think I need to pick up a few more of them

This was exactly what we needed to replace a faulty UPS.

New purchase; no power outages yet to test it out.

Worked only for a day. Started giving an annoying continuous alarm even if there was no power surge or outage. No way to stop the alarm. So, returned back to the store. Manual was not much of help.

Great for my purpose, this one I use exclusively to protect my network, in the case of a power outage, at least we still have access to our phones considering network coverage is spoty where we live, and this allows me to keep my network up long enough for emergency calls etc.

On/off switch stuck down in the unit. Couldn’t get it to pop up. Also, it’s the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

Locating the control switch on the same side as the outlet totally sucks.

Returned it. Not convinced we need it yet. Maybe next year.

I decided to give the APC - Back-UPS 900VA 9-Outlet/1-USB Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector a go while on my search for a dependable home office battery backup. During recent power outages I realized just how dependent the day-to-day functioning of my home is on Wi-Fi connectivity. All of my televisions, my computer and laptop, as well as my home phone and alarm system run off of it-and there is nothing worse than being in the dark for an unknown amount of time with nothing to occupy you and no way to communicate with the outside world. I currently own a different battery back-up unit that we use to power a CPAP, lamp, and box fan, so I am somewhat familiar with how these work. This APC model is definitely an upgrade on the current unit that I have. While heavy at 8.4lbs, this unit is 2/3 the weight and ½ the size of my older model. Its design is more streamlined and less bulky-making it easier to conceal in a room. It is unnoticeable beneath my desk and it also offers the option of wall mounting (a mounting template is included in the user manual). This particular item is rated for indoor use only. I suggest reading the User Manual before attempting to use this battery backup since they are not all exactly alike and it is not ready to use out of the box. The manual contains very detailed information regarding the various alarms that may sound (low battery, sleep mode, detected overload, etc.), the meaning of the different colors of the status indicator light, as well as a troubleshooting guide. Not included is a list of estimated runtimes with different electronics in use. This is actually printed on the top of the box but would be a welcome addition to the User Manual. The unit arrives with one battery connection cable disconnected but provides simple instructions for quickly outfitting it for use. You plug this unit directly into a standard wall outlet (never an extension cord) and allow it to charge for around 8 hours initially. I allowed it to charge overnight. I have no plans to unplug this at any point because I never know when I will need it to be fully charged and ready to kick in. Be sure to place it in a location that allows for good air circulation since it can collect dust easily as well as get warm because of the power it puts out. While all 9 outlets offer surge protection, only 6 of them also offer battery backup so be aware when plugging in your electronics. There is one 5V 2.1Amp USB port on the unit that would be handy for charging a cell phone or tablet. I give this unit 5 stars because when I simulated a power outage with my computer and network gateway plugged into it there was no noticeable disconnect in the power supply. The transition from the home power supply to the battery backup appeared seamless. The battery backup provided power for approx. 65 minutes before starting to beep and notify me of low battery power. I am definitely considering purchasing another for my son to use in his home and recommend that everyone have one as well in case of emergency.

This is our go-to for all of our computer equipment. Love that you can replace the internal battery instead of having to buy a brand new unit

They have removed the USB monitoring port, which was one of the best features.

Returning because my assortment of ac plugs are at weird angles and this unit requires more uniform plugs.

Excellent for SOHO. I have a PC, printer and dual monitors hooked up to this which gives about 15 minutes of battery standby.

Started to scream louder than a smoke alarm in the middle of the night. There was not a power outage. The outlet was fine. It just wanted to have a deafening scream at 2:30AM. Buttons not responsive. I even yelled at it. I took it out to the yard and left it. In the next evening It was still screaming when I heaved it in the landfill. This thing is sealed cant fix it.

We had to return this since it didn't have the correct hookup for our computer

Works great on my PS5 and 4K OLED TV. We have frequent brown outs in our area and this is a life saver for the PS5.
