Powerful UPS Unit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say, I am very impressed with this battery backup system. Its design is very modern and good to have along with a gaming rig. The display shows all relevant information. Having a powerful gaming PC, i9 processor, GTX 3090, 5 drives, etc along with 4K monitor and several other peripherals plugged in, it barely loads it down and shows a minimum of 45 minutes of battery life available if needed. REMINDER: Make sure to plug your internet modem and router to the UPS unit. If the power flickers or goes down for a short time, you will not have to wait through a reboot or be without internet for safety reasons.

Knowing is more power!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Communication is key. And this is what this UPS does best. It communicates so well. To me, even though battery back up from this UPS is already great, what’s really important is I need to know how much juice I still have to keep going so I can manage my game progress better. Besides the beep that tells me I am on battery power, it tells me how much I still have left, given my current consumption. The circular color “bar” tells me the progress of how is left in the UPS, in very helpful colors and levels. And the interface can also be toggled through my preference depending on what I want to look at—such as load and percentage of battery. The indicator screen manages my expectations well-- I know when I have to start letting my squad know that I will be out for a while. In my PC set up with two monitors and full lighting peripherals plus platform speaker with sub, it lasts me a good 11 minutes until the UPS power hits orange to empty. In my console setup with an 86 inch TV, a PS4 Pro and an atmos soundbar, it takes me 8 minutes before I hit battery empty from UPS full charge and the power goes off. This UPS gives me impressive back up power and enough information on how far I can keep going in my missions. The design is also beautiful—it helps improve the look on my messy desk, plus the USB-A / C ports gives me easy access to charging. The selection of lights hues are great too! I can easily match up the LED colors to my keyboard and headset LEDs, making my whole set up looking like a desk of the future. My only concern is, like all other UPS, the sockets are not wide enough to fit some of my power adapters (my internet modem adapter takes up 3 slots). Other than that, this UPS is more than just what I need. It does not just let me connect and forget my devices—it actually informs me how to manage my gaming power load when the unexpected happens.

An Essential for any Gamer/WFH Setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been needing a battery backup for ages, especially this year since I pretty much WFH all the time now and also built a new gaming set up and desk. Then comes along this APC gaming battery backup... in WHITE!! Thank you APC for making a version in white, as my entire gaming set up is a cool white with RGB. Now aside from how sleek and sexy this thing is and how it has RGB on it in the front and back (so nice) lets talk about what it is actually used for, protecting your equipment and surviving an outage. You have 10 outlets, 6 of which are backed up by the battery, so I plug my router and modem into it along with a monitor and my gaming rig (and work laptop). With all that running at once, I am getting 20-25 minutes of battery time which is pretty good for a tiny portable unit like this, I am very impressed. I of course have tested it in many ways, first, the built in battery test, no hiccups at all. I then unplugged the unit from the wall, not a hiccup. Next I turned the power off on my circuit breaker, same thing, no issue, everything kept running as intended. Next will just be a real power outage! Also, the front USB ports are very nice to have, I can charge my phone and my type-c wireless headphones at the same time which is sweet. It also comes with a data cable to transfer power readings to a computer, but I have not tested this, but pretty sweet feature. This is definitely the best battery backup on the market for any gamer or for anyone who WFH now, it is aesthetically pleasing and works like a champ and is covered by a great company with a long history in this technology and a great warranty.

Solid as a UPS, not polished for gaming
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost, if you have a machine with a serious power supply, think 80+ gold or higher, then you will likely need a pure sine wave UPS and this unit fits the bill. I've found out in the past that some of the stepper sine wave units just don't work for my platinum rated computer power supply. This one arrived on the same day that Wisconsin had the heavy rain storms came through and my PC, router, modem, two 4k monitors, and a desk clock all stayed running when the power flickered twice. But this is also billed as a gaming UPS and the lights look pretty, but APC needs to up their game. The only way to control the lighting settings is through clunky button presses. This unit is meant to connect to your computer via USB and it doesn't even have a desktop app to control the lighting. I see that as a major fail as this unit would be so much better if I could sync the lighting for aura glow behind my monitors or even if I could change the settings at all without holding buttons down. Because of this, I can't say anyone should pay this inflated cost when a regular 1500 model with pure sine wave output cost 30% less. If you really need RGB, take the money you saved buying a non-RGB unit and invest in some good RGB LED strips that come with a remote.

Who knew a battery backup could do so much!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have to say this the most advanced battery backups I have ever seen. This device is designed for gamers who have problems with power fluctuations. This backup senses drops in voltage and works to maintain a constant amount of voltage to your computer so you don't lose performance while gaming. The APC is well packed and looks very sleek once you heft it out of the box (it's heavy, lol!). It has plenty of plugs in the back and has a USB-C and regular USB ports on the front. It comes with a data cable for you to plug into your computer that syncs with a program that you download from the APC website. I was surprised by the amount of setup involved (downloading the program and whatnot), but it's very easy and does not take long. This is kind of one of those "set it up and forget it" kind of devices that sits quietly ready to do it's job when the need arises. I really like this backup and am glad to have it. 5 stars.

Crashed, smoked, burned, buh-bye!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had 2 of these items. During a brownout, one of the Gaming 1500VA stayed up, a smaller apc unit (handling networking) stayed up, but the second Gaming 1500VA crashed, smoked, burned, orange glow... From what I've read if my wife didn't pull the plug from the wall within seconds we would've had a lovely fire too. It was only in use for 2 weeks at 50-75% load. The ups unit that didn't fail was usually closer to 75%, go figure. Returned the dead one, and returned it's twin since why should I trust it if it was manufactured to the same specs and used in the same house?

UPS to protect my gaming rig
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This UPS performs like any other UPS with some added bonuses. The biggest pro or con is that only 6 outlets use battery back up when there is a power outage and the other 4 outlets are for surge protection only. In my case, the major items I cared about having on battery back up were my NAS, my gaming desktop, and my monitor so that I can wrap up whatever I am doing and shut down my computer safely. My mouse, keyboard, camera, and mic didn’t need to be on battery back up since they all plug into the desktop. So for me, this UPS works perfectly, however if you have multiple gaming rigs you might need a second UPS. Next the UPS is extremely user friendly and tells you if the UPS is overloaded. If the UPS is overloaded then you HAVE to remove some devices from it so that it works correctly and you maintain the longevity of the product. I'd rather not mess up my graphics card, considering they are impossible to buy right now... Next, I unplugged the UPS from the wall with all of my gaming stuff and NAS attached to make sure it worked as advertised. Of course it worked since APC has been in the surge protector and UPS game for a long time! I exclusively buy APC surge protectors for a reason and I am very happy with this UPS. I will also say that a UPS is much larger than a surge protector and a lot heavier, so be prepared for that. However the aesthetics of the UPS makes it easier to blend in with things around your gaming area since you can change the RGB display ring light to whatever color matches your setup. Finally, I like how this UPS stands up like a gaming console since it makes it easier for me to hide cables! When it comes down to it, any UPS will protects your stuff, and just because there is a power outage or surge doesn't mean your gaming rig is going to get fried. With that being said, I didn't want to take the chance and that and love how I can wind down my equipment safely.

For the Money , Awful
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to start... UGH - The lighting effects are bar none, awful (ONLY WEAK WASHED OUT SOLID COLORS). You cant keep the information face on the UPS if you want to continuously view vitals. Mine shot sparks when I first plugged something into her. The interface is EXTREMELY clunky, good luck navigating the UPS or understanding what you are looking at. SAVE YOUR MONEY. It looks cool, but its just a chunk of plastic that glows (and even when it glows its lame)

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to review the unit. We appreciate the feedback about our UPS. I have passed the feedback along about the lightening to our product management team. The sparking when connecting the batteries is normal and is not harmful. Also if you want to have the screen stay on a specific option, like runtime remaining, all you would have to do is hold the display button for around 6 seconds or until the UPS beeps once. This will have the screen stay on to whichever option you wanted to display all the time.

3 months an staring to fail
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had this thing for three months and it's already starting to fail. The menu buttons on the front panel no longer work and there's always the strong smell of ozone every time I walk near it. It's typical for these things, one power surge an there done. They're supposed to keep protecting you but they never do.

Dead on arrival
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit would not power on after the battery was connected and the unit was plugged into the wall. For a company that claims it’s products are high quality I would expect a battery back up to be tested as the unit is designed to protect devices. I’ll be returning this item and I won’t be buying from apc ever again.
