Upset in requirements

When i went to set up the ipad with a new account, it required me to input some form of financials. I never have had this experience with android devices. After this i wont be purchasing apple products. I wasnt allowed to download free items from the app store unless i put in some form of payment which makes me feel uncomfortable. When I contacted apple about this the agent didn’t want to seem to help me fix this issue. My old apple products didnt demand payment to download free apps

I chose this over the newer iPad air versions because it had the same charger block and I could use my wired ear buds.
