    Subject: Urgent: Activation-Locked “New” iPad Bought on Black Friday (Oct 2024) — Request for Immediate Resolution Hello Best Buy Customer Service, I am writing as a long-time Best Buy customer (since 2010) to report a serious issue with an iPad I purchased during the Black Friday sale in October 2024. The device remained sealed in its original packaging until May 2026, when I opened it and attempted to set it up. To my surprise it immediately requested a PIN from a previous owner and was activation-locked. I purchased this device as new — how could it already be locked to another customer? I brought the device to the Palm Beach Best Buy location for assistance. The staff there informed me your in-store system cannot remove activation locks and advised I go to an Apple Store. That response is unacceptable. I purchased a new, unopened device from Best Buy and expect Best Buy to stand behind the sale and help resolve problems caused by selling an activation-locked device. Please investigate and resolve this matter I have been a loyal customer for many years and am very disappointed with this experience.
