iPad Upgrade

The 64GB base model is much more usable than the older generations 32GB. This iPad and an Apple Arcade subscription is something he'll use on a regular basis, unlike his other, basically disposable toys.

He has been using one throughout kindergarten learning STEM, and reading. As he heads into the first grade he ask for one for his sixth birthday. His reasoning was, with my own I will be able to do more STEM training and now that I am in the first grade I will have homework and will need it to bring home. Our son-in-law loved all the new tech that allows him to set it up with controls and restricts access to where he does not need access. The easy to set it up was awesome.

Money is not an issue, so I had to resist the temptation to buy the top of the line (although around Christmas, the lack of iPad availability helped me make the decision). Here’s how I decided: 1) I don’t need the cameras because they are on my phone 2) I don’t need the better speakers because I have AirPods and other Bose bluetooth speakers for listening 3) this model still has the headphone jack and lightning port so I can continue to use the interfaces that I have (iRig, amps, headphones, speakers, etc). This iPad is good enough for email, YouTube, and basic games and I have my Mac if I need to do more.

I had been using a 9th generation ipad but my kids kept stealing it. I decided that the regular ipad was enough for me and purchased this second one on the Black Friday deal. I already had the pencil to keep drawing in Procreate. Even though the pro was awesome….it was too much cost for still experimenting with digital drawing. This one should last five years or so before needing an upgrade. And the cost of the 10th generation was not worth it to me….why the price increase and not able to use 2nd generation pencil? Come on apple!

For people like me who prefers digital planning than paper, this is your sign to get yours now. :) I did not have any issues with regards downloading, just log in your apple account and hwaalaaa ~ you can download whatever you want :D There is a freebie which is the apple fitness sad to say i dont have an apple watch, but if you have it you can enjoy this freebie which includes 3 months of free access to the fitness + . :D
