It meets all of my needs - email, social media, web surfing, text, camera. I rarely use my desktop computer now - only if I need to make a spreadsheet or some fancy document. I’m sure I can do it on the iPad, but I haven’t figured out how, as I’m not very techie. Great customer service when picking up and trading in the old one.

It’s a smart idea to get a good older model as a gift for an elderly person and new Apple user. Now she can easily FACETIME with family AND have video doctor’s appointments. also look at emails and order from stores without having to turn on the big old computer.
