I also use a second screen for my MacBook Pro, and it makes a very useful addition to all work on the MacBook Pro. The color is excellent as is the brightness of the screen. It is actually better to have fingerprint startup when using this for a second screen on the MacBook Pro. Highly recommend this iPad to all.

Black screen of death

It still works but you'll need to keep pressing "home" button repeatedly until the screen lights up. Stay away from 3rd gen iPad air.
