The iPad Pro is cheaper and is a better piece of equipment than the entry level Macbook. Yes, it's the iOS rather than OSX but with file management and multi app display functionality it puts it on par with laptops. If you are on the fence about whether the iPad Pro can substitute for a laptop, my answer is, "Absolutely, it can!" I love mine and I'd recommend anyone thinking about it to do the same.
