I have been an iPad user for many years starting with the 2nd generation all the way through this model. This device continues to be a rock solid addition to the ecosystem and works flawlessly. This device is a basic model. It's not the Pro or Air and it isn't supposed to be. What this iPad does well is all most users will ever need. It is good for consuming media (Youtube, Netflix and music channels), taking notes and getting online. I cannot speak to the power and features of other models but this one is very capable. I have always only had whatever basic model iPad that was offered. With little exception, they have always been able to do whatever task I have requested of them. It feels fast when using. I don't know if the bigger chips on other models would be noticeable to me personally. I mainly use it when my phone is too small to read and I don't feel like taking my laptop out o do something. I find it to be a good sized screen especially for folks that might be older and have issues with their vision. I like the portability and being able to carry it from room to room. I traded in an iPad mini for this and it has made a world of difference especially when using Kindle to read books. If you have the means, or if it goes on sale and your iPad or Android tablet is in need of replacement, this is a great entry level iPad to get you going.
