I took it to the Geek Squad and while an unusual technique was used, it apparently is a common issue. The tech just kept tapping his finger on the screen and eventually all was well and working. Haven't had a problem since. I just wish I had compared models as this one does not have FaceID on it and I either have to use my fingerprint or passcode. Not a huge issue, but probably would have bought a different model had I realized there is no FaceID,
