I bought this to replace my standard iPad that I bought a while back for $300. But in the end I ended up returning this instead of replacing my old one. It is beautifully made, and feels great to use, but once you are using it, it just feels like you wasted money. The OS hinders all the performance that is available and in the end almost felt the same as my entry level iPad. So in the end, I couldn't justify spending that much money on what felt like a device that was hobbled. I would get the Air if you want the great form factor and feel, but at a better price.
