Great device but super expensive accessories

The only draw back is how expensive the apple compatible/brand accessories are. One thing I wanted to do is play Netflix or Hulu on my ipad and use the USB C to HDMI capabilities to display on a tv. So far no cables i have found work, even the ones that claim they support the HDCP 2.2 (i think thats it) needed to do so. Apple sells an adapter that will work but its 69.99 just for that ?! Typical Apple though!
